HOWDY Y"ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do I have news for y'all. First thing is transfers. I am serving in
Bear Creek still and with District Leader Bleazard. That's right, same
companion and he is now District Leader. For those who don't know
mission leadership. the mission president is like the prophet and he
has Assistants to the President who are like the counselors for him
and then Zone leaders which would be like Stake Presidents and
District leaders which would be like a bishop. I hope that makes
sense. I'm no longer driving and it's kinda nice. Only kinda, Elder
Bleazard scares me a little. I'll be honest.

Well we have a few new investigators and they seem awesome. We have
one lady we started to teach this week. She was a referral from a
member who did her hair and we had dinner with that member this week
and had time after so we stopped by her. First we called her and she
told her self she would call us later and then we showed up and she
was happy. We taught the Restoration and she really liked it and she
started crying when we shared James 1:5 with her and she didn't stop
until we left. She didn't stop crying that is. But It was awesome.
Then on Saturday we went back and got to meet her two sons and they
are all awesome and want to be baptized and so we will set a date this
week with them. I'm so excited for them. We got a new investigator
last night who is a JR. in high school and she wants to be baptized
and we set a date with her. I hope it turns out. September 22 is the
date for her.

I have to tell you about something I learned this week. we have a less
active man that it's always an adventure when we go visit him. There
is a story after every visit. Anyway, I learned you do not go visit
him at the end of the day after a long busy day and being dead tired,
every little thing is funny and it's a lot harder not to laugh. It
didn't help when while he was reading and acting like nothing is
happening he stands up steps to the right and walks backwards, goes
about 6 or so feet back into the other room and then walks back and
sits down. He had made comments about how he likes sitting in his
chair in the other room, because for the first time we sat at his
table and I thought he was going to sit in his chair but he didn't. It
was so funny. I love that man.

Also, I have to tell you about
church!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So we had the
lady and her sons there for sacrament meeting then they had to leave,
but we also had Destiny which is a girl were teaching in a group of
kids at an apartment complex and her brother and youngest sister was
there which I didn't think I'd see her sister there because she is so
young and her mom said she could come because she was so young. Well
at the end of church we was talking to them and there wonderful
fellowshipper who gives them rides to and from church and to a bigger
surprise in walks the mom looking really good to pick up the kids. The
mom has been committed to come to church next week. and we got a
baptism date for Destiny and that is
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been working with her for a while and have been working on
getting her parents to give her permission because neither of them are
members and Destiny is so ready for baptism and what to get baptized
sooooooooooo bad. The date for her is September 8th and so PLEASE PRAY
that goes as plan. So much happened yesterday that I never thought
would come.

Also church was really good. Sacrament meeting was good the one lady
who spoke gave an awesome talk that I loved and she gave me her talk
because I asked for a copy of it. It is way awesome and is simple for
like investigators and that. Then the man talked a lot about Martin
Harris and it was good. Martin Harris is important to me for those who
don't know his brother is my Great-great-great grandfather.

Then at dinner the cutest thing happen. I was talking to one of the
little girls in the family. I was talking to all the kids and asking
their names, age and grade in school and things like that, well I got
to one of the little girls that is 4 years old, Sam, and I asked her
if she like church, "I don't talk to strangers." "oh, that's okay, I'm
Elder Carter and I'm a missionary. I go around and tell people about
Jesus."  and then at dinner she wanted to pray and she got picked and
then before she closed she said" and thank you for the missionary
that's not a stranger." It was so cute. She was so adorable.

Anyway, all is well and I'm doing great. I love y'all and hope all is
well back home. I wish y'all a great year for those that started
school. Take care and I love y'all so much.
Remember to Pray for Destiny and her baptism.

August 20 2012

Howdy all y'all,
Well this week has been good. I got to go to the temple on Tuesday and
it was wonderful. I love the temple. I also went to This is the Place
which is the only church store here and I got another CD, Jessie Clark
(Funk) Clay in the Potters Hands, It's a beautiful CD. I love it and
love her voice.

We got rain this week and one time we was out tracting when it just
started to come down. We was standing at someones door when it
started, they didn't answer and had a little covering so we stood
there a little but I was still getting wet and so Elder Bleazard ran
to the car and pulled it up and then I ran out had to step in a big
puddle and we went to dinner. It was crazy and then that night I woke
up. I thought the alarm went off and I seen Elder Bleazard go into the
other room so I'm like I guess it's time to get up, looked at the
clock and it was 2 something in the morning, I'm like, nope it's not
time to get up. But the storm woke both us up. Thunder, lighting and
rain also some wind. Crazy but nice to have some rain to help cool
things off a little.

We also had dinner with my favorite family ever, Bishop Willis and his
family. That was awesome. Also we had dinner with the Jones Family and
this my mom will like, but he is from Australia and so I got to set
and listen to his accent all night and it was awesome.

For District Lunch this week we went to a Colombian place and lets
just say I wish I wouldn't have gotten anything. I looked for the
thing that sounded the safest because everything was scaring me on the
menu. I got the soup of the day, Cream of Potato. It was not a cream
and it had a big chicken piece in it, I don't know it was chicken on
the bone which I don't like eating and I have to force my self to
eat. I ate the rice and some soup and then gave the rest to a Spanish
elder. Not fun.

Well as far as missionary work. We was busy and doing good but we
wasn't able to get a whole lot of lessons taught this week. It was
good though. I'm tired of tracting now. Also yesterday at church we
had no one there. No investigators, No recent converts, and so we just
went to normal Sunday school. It was kinda sad. But all is well.

Tomorrow we find out about transfers and so next week I'll let y'all
know what happens. I don't have anything else for now. I'll talk to
y'all next week and y'all take care. Oh, so this past week was the
18th and the thing that happened on the 18th was I started my second
journal, filled up the first and am now on to the second journal.
Awesome. Love y'all and take care.

Howdy y'all!

Well, I'm happy to report that this past week has been really good. We
got 6 new investigators and did a lot of finding and first lessons. It
was good. One girl we found is going to be a Jr. this year in high
school. We prayed with her while tracting and then she told us we
could come back so we went back and taught the first lesson. It was
funny. She came out front and we sat out there in front of the house
and taught her. So many people made a point to come out for something
and people were looking out the window at us. I just laughed. We are
outside in front of the house what are we going to do. It was a good
lesson though and I think we will be going back soon.

Elder Bleazard was mean to me this week. We had an appointment with a
lady in the ward and she called and moved her appointment the morning
of and so I'm like okay and so we found something else to do. Well on
the way to her Elder Bleazard picks up the phone and answers it. "Oh,
hi Sister ............, What, your not able to meet now?." I'm driving
to her house and I hate when people cancel, it's so frustrating! So
I'm thinking what now. then I hear him say "I'm sick of you lady!" and
hangs up. I look at him like what did you just say and am in shock.
What!!! He was just joking , the whole phone call was a joke. I was
ready to slap him. Isn't that mean of him. Well I laughed afterward.

Well church was good. It was Stake Conference and it was being filmed
and we watched it at our building. Well we had the small group of kids
we have been teaching there. It was so much fun to get to set with
them. It was kinda hard. A small group of girls age 7-10 setting there
for 2 hours. It got rough at the end but I had do much fun. I was so
excited to have them there. They have come to church before but I was
really excited to have them there yesterday.

Well I'm doing great and I can feel the differance in the air here
from July to August and I'm not liking August. Well everyone has
warned me about August so and I guess September and October is not fun
either but November is going to be good, that's when it starts cooling
down so everyone says.

Well it's already week 6 in the transfer which means 2things. Temple
this week and also next week is transfers and I really feel I'll be
transferred but we will find out next week. We have dinner with the
Willis family this week and I'm so excited for that. I can't wait,
they are by far one of my most favorite families here, he is the
bishop now.

Well I think that's all I have for now. Take care y'all and remember
God is Good!!
I send my love and best wishes.

August 6 2012

Howdy y'all!

I'm doing great! Well this past week was good. We have been doing a
lot more tracting and I enjoy it. We also had a little party for one
of the Elders going home the end of this transfer, and also the end of
this transfer my trainer is going home and it's sad, for me. I'll miss
them. But I'm glad they are returning home with honor. Also sad news,
i heard of 2 elders that went home early this past week. It's sad,
but I hope all is well with them.

The mission is so hard. It's a great way to open eyes to what life is
really all about. It's crazy everything you learn.

We had an awesome Zone Meeting this past week. I really enjoyed it. I
got a lot out of it and it was funny because the practice teach the
Zone Leaders did failed so bad and all we could do was laugh. Then
they are like, now y'all go do it better than us, we just showed you
what not to do. It was funny. We also went tracting and found a lady
who might start investigating, she is looking for a church and have
been praying for guidance and she seems to believe a lot that we
believe in. We'll find out. The work is moving forward and it's great
to me a servant of the Lord.

My companion is a fun person and a great Elder. I've been very blessed
with some of the best Elders as my companions. I haven't had one that
I didn't enjoy or learned something from. I'm very blessed!

This coming week we have a new thing, it's a special training and it
should be good. Then the following week is temple which I can't wait
for. It'll be great. Then the next week is Transfers and It's crazy
how fast this transfer has went.

School is about to start up for a lot of y'all, I wish y'all luck and
hope summer as been fun.

I've been asked lately in letters how the weather is down here. The
answer for that is HOT! and HUMID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!! I
don't like the humidity. It's not my friend. But I've just learned to
get use to the heat and use to always, and I mean ALWAYS being wet!
It's not too bad but we are just entering the time of year when it's a
post to be the worst so we will see. I've also heard there might be a
storm heading our way from the gulf, we will find out how that goes.
All the missionaries are praying for a hurricane and i'm thinking,
y'all are crazy. Although it's really weird to hear about hurricanes
because we don't have those in Utah.

Anyway hope all is well back home with all y'all. Take care and have
lots of fun. Also something I learned this week. I've been struggling
with feelings of not being good enough and not having a purpose, but
I've been praying and one night I shared with a member some of my
poems and after while talking to her I felt the spirit impress upon my
mind the thought of, you were meant to be here at this time to
strength Sister ........ with your poems. it was great to know from
God that I do have purpose. It's just small but I know there is
purposes for us all and we just have to look for them and let the
spirit guide us. All glory to the Father for the great blessing I have
of writing. I send my love and testify of the true gospel of Jesus
Christ!!! The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the ONE
and ONLY TRUE church on the earth. It is Christ's church and I testify
of this, I wish y'all could see the things I've seen out here and wish
y'all could understand all i've learned and know because then y'all
would know with out a doubt that Christ lives, that God hears our
prayers and that this is the True Church of Christ, The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. If you don't already know all that.

Love y'all
