Utah Trip / New Years Party ~ Decenber 2011

We wanted to get away this holiday break but didn't have the funds to go too far so we invited ourselves up to Utah to stay with our good friends Justin and Rayann and their 3 sweet kids: Kylie (5), Jackson (4) and Aiden (2).  We took one night to go up to Temple Square and see all the beautiful lights, nativities and the tabernacle.  Most of our pictures are from there but we had a great time visiting the rest of the week.  Justin and Rayann are true friends! - the kind that years can pass without speaking but you can catch up in an instant like no time went by.  We love them and appreciate their hospitality.

Christmas 2011

We stayed home for Christmas this year.  It was really relaxing and low key.  Perfect!  I was able to get two stockings made to match mine and Cale's.  Emma picked the red/white scarfed snowman for her and the blue/hearts for Kinzie. I'll keep working on the others and the tree skirt!

I also dug out my beautiful Nativity set from my Grandma Deann and put it on my ugly entertainment center (no, it is not on fire!).

Grandma and Grandpa Scott sent Emma this cute My  Little Pony Blanket!  Emma is in heaven.  :)

Cale did pretty good learning to fly his helicopter!  It was a little rough at first but now he's a master!

Christmas Eve 2011

Opening presents at Grandpa David and Granny's Christmas Eve!  She loved her new jammies and had to put them on right away but she was super excited to get her first real Barbie!
Thanks Granny and Grandpa.

Ginger Bread Houses ~ December 18, 2011

Ginger Bread Houses are fast becoming a tradition.  We did them last year in Texas and had such fun that we decided to do our own this year!  Emma was so helpful and had a lot of fun...a true architect!

Christmas Choir Concert ~ December 17, 2011

ImageEmma did great at her Christmas Choir Concert.  She wasn't shy at at all and loved the songs!  They sang 3 songs:  "Happy Little Christmas Tree", "Jingle Bells" and "Up on the Housetop".  Image

Snow Finally! ~ December 2, 2011

We finally got a good snow storm that stuck!  And luckily we had just bought Emma some new snow pants and coat but not boots!  We tried double socks with plastic bags inside the shoes and it seemed to work well enough to keep her out there for hours.

She looked so cute and had such fun playing in the snow.  We of course had to build an awesome snowman!  Our hands and toes were frozen by the end but it was worth it.

Thanksgiving 2011

We had a small, family Thanksgiving this year.  Little Emma decided she had the appetite for a turkey leg!  She didn't eat all of it but got a good start on it.   Trina and Curtis did come up earlier in the month though and spend some time with Emma. Emma sure loves Aunt Trina!

Brother Langston has been so helpful in bringing us dirt to finish our yard.  He is always so sweet with kids and offered to take Emma on a tractor ride!
