I am usually ...
Not a lyric quoter but Pink's new song "Perfect" has been stuck in my head all day .. mainly the "pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like your less than, less than perfect to me" ... why you may ask ... I don't know. Back in December I had a ife changing moment ... it literally changed me and I am now going to share it with all you blogger buddies. I was on my lunch break driving on Riverdale road and there was a guy holding a sign saying that he was hungry that was all I caught and normally I don't do this at all but went past McDonald's and got him one of the best things on the menu (another thing I don't even do for myself) when I was paying for it I realized that I didn't even see the guy then I started to get scared ... every possible kidnapping possibility passed through my mind but I knew I couldn't chicken out, I pulled over to the side and called him over and gave him his meal through the window (I almost asked him if coke was ok) and this powerful phrase that changed my life was "Thank you for noticing me. Have a blessed day." I said for him also and as I drove off he had disappeared somewhere to eat but I owe more to him than that sandwich. As I drove away I wondered how many people around us are needing to be noticed. How many people do we pass and not give them the time of day, not even a 2 second smile that could change someone's day around. I wish I could run into that man again and tell him thanks, but the only thing that I can do is pay it forward (which I thought was a very weird movie!) and saying that phrase made everything sound SO cheesy. I guess you all are going to have to bear with me. I am 2 semesters away from graduating in Psychology and it has changed the way I look at life. I wish back in High School I could have noticed more people. Of course I myself was not doing so well, trying to deal with family problems, being overweight and awkward. BUT I will send out a big thanks to all those that noticed me and helped me during that time. If I didn't have the friends that I had who helped keep me on track I wonder where I would have gone. We all have the tools necessary inside us to "fix" us but sometimes we need the right people to show us how to use those tools. So thank you!!

Huggers
I don't know how I came upon this post but it cracked me up!! I've seen this all too many times! Especially since in Brasil people are huggers. I remember when I first got there when you great someone you give them the right cheek/left cheek greet, mau, mau thing. Hope that painted the picture. It was always in that order right to left, it avoided any awkward accidental kissing. It was with everyone (except men because I was on the mission at the time, we would shake hands with them .. hehe boy was that fun as you greet a man on the street and he goes in to great you the Brazilian way and you have to side step that one) ... anyway I remember walking in to Relief Society with my companion who was Brazilian and she would great all the ladies in the room, me not wanting to be the snotty american even though it was WAY uncomfortable for me went along with what she was doing. It did take some time to get use to but once I did it was the norm and I loved it! There are no walls between people who do that and I feel that with the ones that hug you hello and goodbye. It was VERY awkward for me when I came back to the U.S. because I didn't know how to greet people anymore. I would hug them when I saw them and when I left and I in this blog post it totally described how I would feel. Once you started in for the hug and realized the person has tensed up there was no going back you just give it your all. hahahah it is funny though. I also loved this "Free Hugs" campaign!! I would totally do it. Have you ever seen someone walking down the street and thinking how that person looked so sad and you just want to yell out to them "Hey! keep your head up, things will work out" ... well I have, but I have refrained from doing that ... I've asked myself why, there is no harm in helping even if they will think I'm a big nerd. I have often wondered what type of reactions I would get ... also cell phone drivers .. I know I'm going off the topic a little, but have you ever passed someone on the highway that you could tell was TOTALY NOT focused and you drive by them and see them on the cell phone ... I have wanted to make a sign that says "Please hang up!" or something, I would have to think about it a little more and as you drive by them slap it on your window for them to see .. one day I will do these things and report back to you all the reactions I get .. if anyone wants to join me it would be fun we could drive from Ogden to Salt Lake and back. Really I don't care who you are it has been proven that you can NOT function cognitively while driving and talking on the phone .. even if it is hands free. ... Anyway back to huggers .. check this post out!! http://mamao4.blogspot.com/2010/12/huggers-story.html

Broken ...
You never know how lucky you are until something doesn't work. My ankle is broken ... 26 years no broken bones never had surgery and Jan 3 that streak all ended. I went to the doctor today and he said that it hasn't healed but that's normal it's only been 3 weeks since I had surgery, so I'm home bound another month. It's funny the things we ask for, after I got back from the ER the night I broke it I prayed for a miracle that everything would heal quickly ... well sometimes what we ask for doesn't come but we are always blessed with the thing we need. I broke a little bone at the bottom of the ankle that supports the foot, when surgery came the doctor found that that little broken bone was broken in 3 little pieces. wow all I did was slipped on ice walking into our condo! The miracle is that if the bone had shattered any more things would have been a thousand times worse. The doctor wouldn't go into detail today and told me to just stay positive :) ... it's been hard, you realize that your body is a little more fragile than you think. ... On the upside I have an amazing husband who has really taken things well, he has managed the house cleaning, cooking and work. He keeps saying that he's ready for his other half to get better. ... I don't know life has a funny way of bringing you back to where you need to be. I know that ever since we got back from Brasil we have been running like crazy, focusing on what needs to be done. This "opportunity" has helped me see ... ummm still trying to figure out what that is but I know that something is there! :D Anyway that's the latest update ... so much has happened since the last time I posted that I'll have to post again soon. We also have some fabulous pictures that I need to post as well. Oh right after the surgery (this is my excuse as to why I said ok) a girl knocked on the door asking if I wanted to get my carpets cleaned for free .. heck yes! .. well it was a Kirby vacuum presentation :( the funny out of this is that when the guy came in he saw our pictures and asked if I was married to Tiger Woods! HA!! I said yes this is where we get away from it all!

Update!
Just so you all know I still read blogs and I still think about updating mine I just have not had the courage .. I know, my excuse is that I sit at a computer at work and coming home and looking at one is the last thing I want to do. I did change my job at the credit union I am longer in mbr service but I am now a collector, yep that's right Corbi is working in collections and I absolutly love it. It's not as bad as what people think it is. I've started "volunteering" at a place called Changes Counceling, what I'm really doing is sitting in on the sessions/classes that they offer, kind of shadowing, and in return I help out around the office. It's for experience which is going to be helpful when I apply for the Socail Work program. School starts on Monday for me, I'm a little nervous because I already have a full schedule but I can't quit now, I'm almost done! I'll be taking 3 classes out at the Brigham City extension, I got tired of online. Claudemir started school on Monday and so far thinks his classes are too easy!!! I keep telling him to take advatage of this semester because his future ones won't be. Especailly in Radiology they expect you to get nothing lower than a B but he's reaching for all A's. He is still busy working at Macey's and is really enjoying it. (I think he has too much fun, really). This is us, we are still around, we still manage to have a little free time so don't think we are too busy to come hang out with ya all!!! Hope everyones summer has been fun and relaxing!! PS we are planning a Lagoon trip for anyone who wants to come!! I've waited for it to cool down a little! :D
