On the 21st of May, we were invited to go on a 4 wheeler ride with our friends.  We met at Mitch and Gaona Schoppmann's home at ten a.m. and went to Summit Canyon and unloaded our machines and headed up Summit Mountain by about 11.  It was 79 degrees when we left the trucks, so I was glad I had worn cut offs.  We stopped at Tink's Race Track so we could look down on the construction at the slide in Cedar Canyon ~ but, WHAT WERE WE THINKING??  We couldn't see it, because it was further up the canyon than we could see.  BUT...............we had a beautiful view to the east of Cedar Breaks.  We live in a beautiful part of the country and I love it.  We ran across some men who were turkey hunting and they asked John and I if we had seen any turkey's and I told them "just the one's that are riding behind us".  They laughed and the turkeys behind us didn't know what had happened ~ until I told them later.  We wound up in Brian Head at The Lodge and ate lunch there.  Quite a fancy place for a bunch of dirty 4 wheeling people.  Since we were the only ones there, they didn't kick us out.  (They were probably glad for the business.)  Our meal was reasonable (price wise) and delecious.  Would eat there again in a heartbeat.  Our waitress was very nice, even if she did spill Sonja's ice water all over. (The black dinner napkins came in handy for something).  We left Brian Head at 3:45 and were back to the trucks by 6 p.m.  The temp was 85 degrees when we got back to the truck. Very fun Day!!

Image On Tuesday, November 29th, I went to the Sizzler and met with a bunch of my cousins for lunch. My Aunt Bea was there also, who is the only living sibling of my Dad. It was so much fun and such a good idea. I'm not sure whose idea it was, but it was great.

On the 13th of October, some of my friends and I met at Gaona Schoppmans beautiful home to do some work for Santa. Someone donated lots of teddy bears for the Gala. They were new and dressed so cute, but had been sitting for a long time, so we got them out of their boxes and cleaned them and brushed up and pressed their clothes and got them to look brand new again. I think we did about 45 or 50 bears in all. They are going to be used to decorate a tree at the Happy Factory Gala, which is the first part of November. We had so much fun. Gaona had not only provided her home, but great goodies as well. She had banana bread and cheese and fruits and soda pop and orange juice. Just about anything a person could want. I'm showing some photos of our day.

Ready to load in the cars and go ~

Image On Tuesday, I met up with Jenny Haider, Janet Lambert, Sonja Black, RosaLee Stucki and Rosilee Kirtley at the second level of the city parking garage at 9:30 a.m. We loaded in Sonja and Jenny's cars and headed for Schoppmans cabin for a day of fun. Gaona was anxiously awaiting our arrival when we got there about 10:30. We unloaded all our food and sewing machines and fabric. RosaLee Stucki brought the most delecious veggie tray and dressing and we downed it in nothing flat. Then we were still sitting and visiting, and so Sonja put her breakfast caserole in the oven to warm up and when it was done, we were treated to a brunch fit for a king. Sonja had a party for a few of her classmates the day before and she had lots of food left over, hence, not many of us had to bring a thing, but ourselves. She had the caserole, tons of little muffins of every kind known to man, avacado, salsa, and watermelon and cantelope. I'm sure there was more, but I can't think of it and Jenny brought cheese popcorn and it was to die for. We had milk and juice and I think Gaona had it there at the cabin, but I'm not sure. We didn't even start our sewing projects until around one or two. But ~ when we started, we went gang busters!! Janet made three pillow cases, Gaona made two and I made two, and the two Rosie's made one each and Sonja made one. Stucki was our instructor and she is so patient that no one got mad and she didn't get to make one until all of us were through, because we all needed so much help. They were all so cute and we were so proud of ourselves. Gaona's cabin is so nice and the weather was perfect. We sewed out on her large front porch. When we got through, around four or five, we cleaned everything up and went back into the house and visited for a couple more hours and laughed and laughed. two large buck deer crossed through the Schoppmanns front yard while we were there. We headed home around 7:30. It was Sonja's idea to go by way of Cedar Breaks to see the wildflowers and so we did and they were beautiful, so it was a great idea. We arrived back in the parking garage around 8:30. It was a wonderful day. Thanks friends, for being my friends!!
