Alexis the Photographer

Alexis has now become the family photographer.  I've been so busy with kids, and life that she has taken over my camera and started taking pictures of the kids. I'm thrilled because she does a great job and it is one less thing I have to worry about.
She is loving it so much she has started a little photography business. She is an entrepreneur, that girl.

Sgt. Derek Johnson

While Clint and I were enjoying ourselves in Montana, there was a tragedy happening at home.
Just a few blocks from our house a Police officer, Sgt. Derek Johnson, was shot and killed by a deranged man parked on the side of the road.  Sunday morning we got a phone call from our neighbor asking us to lock the doors and stay inside.  Being that we were out of state, we quickly called Grandma who was watching the kids and let her know the situation.  Luckily, no one else was hurt except the man who did the shooting and the woman he was with.  His funeral procession went through the streets of Draper and we were able to see it.  What a touching sight.

Labor Day at Liberty Park

We had a free day and the kids had never been to Liberty Park, so off we went.
It is a fun park with lots of things going on.  They even have old, little, rides.  They reminded me of something you would see in an old horror film, but fun nevertheless.

There was a little wadding pool that Luke was all over.

My favorite were the paddle boats.

Hello Hebgen

Image
This is Hebgen Lake.  A little piece a paradise just outside of Yellowstone.
My sweet friend Carrie and her husband invited a few of us up to enjoy this little slice of heaven.
We've been here before with only the girls but this time the boys were invited.Image

We had such a great time.  We played games & went to dinner,
but of course the high-light was the lake.

We spent a day driving through Yellowstone Park, which is always interesting.

Viva La Rocca

Zach has been playing competitive soccer with the La Roca club this year.
They started out great and even won a tournament.  It has not been as exciting as it started though.  It's a full year commitment and Zach likes soccer but doesn't love it.  His coach is from Chile and has a strong accent so that has been a little challenging for the boys to be able to understand him.
We'll see how the rest of the year goes, but he may end up trying baseball next year.

Shelbs celebrated her  7th birthday at Build-a-Bear Workshop.
Each child gets to pick a bear, stuff it, name it, and take it home.
They all loved it.
