Spring Break 2012

ImageThis year we took a trip to Palm Springs, California for Spring Break. Randy has a timeshare there now, and he generously let us use it for a week.
ImageWe BBQ'd
ImageAnd found a zoo, called The Living Desert.
ImageYes, that's a real tarantula on her hand!
ImageWe went to Indian Springs Tennis Gardens where there's a huge professional tournament every year. Michael is on the high school tennis team, and Josh has gotten really interested in tennis too, so this was a neat place.

ImageThe best part of the trip was laying in the warm sun, and playing in the pools. The picture below is actually a hot tub, not one of the pools.
ImageThe pool in the pictures below is David and Emily's. We were able to stay a night with them on the way to California. It was so fantastic to be able to see all these Francis people together in one place! There were about 13 boys and Sarah. We really should have taken a picture of all the cousin's kids. We loved it, and think the kids would have been happy if we'd spent the whole vacation here.

Christmas morning

I love Josh's reaction to what Santa brought for him. We were really good this year! Aside from Clint having strep, I think we all had a very good holiday!

Talent show

On Christmas eve this year we got together at Randy and Barbs' for a party. Just about everyone was there! Chad, Angie, Amy, Justin, Cheri, Braedon, Tami, Jared...you get the idea. The highlight was a talent show. Everyone participated. We had songs, dance routines, lip syncs, and a clarinet solo by Caleb. I think the funniest though was Clint and Chad doing an interpretive dance entitled, "A day in nature". We all laughed pretty hard.
This is a picture of their "sunrise".

After the talent show we did the nativity with all the little kids. I didn't get a good picture of that though. It was a special night.

Here comes santa claus!

Clint was asked to be Santa at this year's Bush Bronco Singer's Christmas program. Sarah and Josh were in the program so it worked out well. Afterwards the kids were able to come get a candy cane from him and sit on his lap. Clint surprised a few kids by knowing their names! He made a great santa, and it was neat to see the looks on the kids faces when they saw him. I wish I had taken a picture of that!Image
