Funny Kid!

Image
I hope you don't get sick of hearing Jamison stories but when I am around him 24/7 it is hard not to share. Today I was cleaning the house and he was playing Elmo on the computer...some drawing game. He said, "Mom come here." I said "I can't Jay I'm cleaning the shower. "He says, "It's OK Mom, you can do it! You can do anything you want to do." It cracked me up. I guess all of the long talks of not giving up and trying your hardest have paid off. By the way the thing he wanted to show me was a picture of the Grinch he had drawn somehow out of broccoli. Don't ask. The world of Sesame Street is all to complicated.

Our Prophet

Yesterday Randy called from Utah letting me know our prophet had passed. Being in Utah he got to hear first. When he told me, I couldn't find out anything. (On the news or the Internet.) He must have gotten it pretty first hand.
I have really enjoyed reading how our dear prophet Gordon B. Hinckley has touched and effected so many lives. I know he has mine. They're not words to tell of my feelings and gratitude for his faithful years of service. I know they're many who are thinking of his reunion with his wife Marjorie; I know it was my first thought. I am so grateful to know that families can and will be together forever. I have full confidence that we are good hands as we await the announcement of our new prophet. I know the Lord is looking over us as we say goodbye to our dear leader.

Check it out!

I have to share with you the worlds best kept secret when it comes to clothes. I am now a 100% supporter of Steve and Berry's. Today I got a black down jacket for...$8.95. Not only is this good for jackets but they have: Shoes, shirts, sweaters, belts, purses etc. for the same price. My FAVORITE thing about it is Sarah Jessica Parkers clothing line. Go here to check it out, so cute!http://www.bittensjp.com/collection.php
I mean who can get a whole outfit (shoes, jeans, sweater, shirt and jewelry) for 5o bucks these days. It made me so happy.

A little Clarification

Image
Just so you know...I have gotten the question "When are you leaving/moving/getting outta here and moving to Utah?" To answer I will say my new favorite line used by Kelly Pickler on the Ellen show. "I don't know, why don't you tell me, and then we'll both know!" Needless to say your guess is as good as mine. We have a contract with our Realtor until the end of February. Until then we will wait it out and decide what our next best move is going to be. Just waiting around is some kind of torture and everyday a piece of me dies. OK,OK. That's a little dramatic, lets just say it sucks.
What I wanted to say before I forgot, is a funny thing Jamison said today. First a little background: I have started teaching Jay how to read and we have been going over his sounds. One of his favorite sounds is for the letter m. The mmm sound.( For those of you who don't know.) Well tonight at dinner he was eating a burrito and said, "This is good, it's kinda like the mmm sound." Which is mmm mmm good. Now I know why it's his favorite. He must get it from me since I love food so much. Anyway it was just one of those cute things kids say that moms think are so great and the rest of the world looks at you like you are nutty nuts. His other new famous lines are: "Your driving me crazy!" and "don't worry about it!" Gotta love it.

Time Together

Well, Randy heads to Utah tomorrow. This last week went by so fast. Randy and I had a chance to go out on a date while my Dad and Cindy had Jay for the night. We were so excited to go to the temple for our date. Randy and I haven't had the chance to go together for a while. So we put on our Sunday best, headed to Dallas, pulled into the parking lot and realized... it was closed. Just our luck. We decided to do the next best thing for a date night and go to dinner and a movie. We went to Cheesecake Factory which was delicious and saw the movie "27 Dresses." (It was cute. I don't know how I talked Randy into it, he must really love me) :) Randy and I were just happy to be together. We had the chance to celebrate our anniversary and Valentines Day all in one since we won't be together for either.
We hope that our time apart goes smoothly and that it won't be too hard for Jamison.
I think he can sense something is happening because he has been really clingy lately. He has had a fun time putting his stuff in boxes and saying that he is "going to Utah tomorrow." Just like the Christmas countdown, everything is tomorrow! If only it were that easy.

Great Memories- March 2006

Some of best times here in Texas were spent with the Sturgill family. This pic was taken on a little road trip we had with them. Jay was so tired from all the excitement he fell asleep in his car seat and could not be awakened. Randy took the car seat out of the car and set it in a parking space while I snapped this pic. It was hilarious.
We are going to miss all of the fun times with them (watching movies and playing phase ten, eating etc.)and all of the laugh so hard your going to pee your pants moments. We met them when when they were newlyweds and now we have the chance to get to know them as a new little family. (Jamison already has his eye on little Maddy!) But, the good thing about friends is that they are always there. Even if we will be a little father away.

Thanks

Thanks for the help with the broken blog/tool fiasco. By some miracle they have miraculously disappeared. I am sure they will pop up again when I least expect it...blasted computers. But, thanks for the tips!

Anybody?

Does any body know how to take these tools (screwdriver and wrench) off off my page. I already went to quick edit and clicked "no" but I some how cannot get rid of them. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Our Little Birdy

Image
Image
Some of you might be wondering how Jamison got the name "Birdy". Simple really. It came from an extended list of nick names. Jamison, Jay, Jaybird, Bird, Birdy. Their you have it. It is funny how he completely responds to it. This is only the start to his nick names. Jay has the desire to be something new everyday, sometimes twice a day. Every morning he says.."What am I gunna be today?" Spider man shirt he's Spider man. Thomas the Train shirt, Thomas. You get the point. But, it also goes for Jammies. Sometimes he wears a striped shirt and we call him Steve. ( From the cartoon Blues Clues.) The funny thing about all of this is that he insists on you calling him the name he is that day. Sometimes we have to get really creative. One day he wore a turtle neck shirt and I told him he was a "turtle neck." He thought that was great and said, " I can go real fast in the water cause I am a turtle neck." In turn he wonders what Randy and I are going to be. A lot of the time randy and I are "Sweaters." Mostly I am "Silky." I got some silk jammies for Christmas so when I wear them I am "Silky". It is so funny when he says, "Oh silky thanks for my water," or "Good job cleaning the house Silky." I don't know why but it cracks me up every time. Jay continues to keep me laughing all day long. I can't believe he is growing up so fast. What happened to my little baby???? I thought you might like to see just how much he has grown. Man, I am the luckiest Mom in the world.

Our First time

Well, we decided to start our own blog beings as we are the last people on earth to have one. We will try and keep you updated as much as possible as to whats going on in our lives.
Right now our life is in limbo as we await our move to Utah. The hard part is not having any control.(Which is really hard for me!) We are going to miss a few things about Texas: The wide open spaces, good barbecue, blue bell ice cream, the Cowboys, the great friends we have made and of course our family. Randy starts his job in the 28th and is ready to get things going. We will miss him greatly. Luckily my Dad and Cindy got us a web cam for christmas. Now we can talk to Randy and to all ya'll. "It's gunna be great!" -as Jay would say. Thank you all for your prayers and love we love you all!!
