Catch up....

*Disclaimer:I am so angry right now. I just typed in about 3 pages and somehow deleted it. I must have pushed some magic erase button. Of course the "auto save" failed to do its duty. I could spit nails. So, this is not going to be as good cuz well...I am just too tired...

Swim Lessons:
Where do I begin? The first time I took Jay to swim lessons he screamed. Not just a little. He literally screamed like I was poking his eyes out with pins and needles. The other Moms are just dropping there kids off like, see ya. It was unbelievably embarrassing. The parents are supposed to watch from upstairs. (It is like in the hospital where you would watch a surgery with the glass and everything.) My friend Shanda enrolled her son Solomon too so they could do it together. Shanda was nice enough to sit with Jay the first few days. We thought this would be better as to break the attachment. I am not really sure why he was so scared but I kinda think it was because his swim teacher was a boy and Jamison has a little stranger danger. He kept telling me, "My teacher is a boy, Mom." Like I should have warned him or something. After he got over the fear that I wasn't going to leave him forever and make the swim teacher adopt him, he did really well. We also had to do a little bribing at home with movie and popcorn. Randy even promised him a special treat. The only thing he wanted as his treat was a donut, Mama's boy! He can now float on his back and front and put his face in the water. He even let me take him all the way under water. Before, he wouldn't even lay down in the bath tub!

Family:
Oh man. I can't even remember everything that we have done the past few days. It was hard enough to write it the first time. Lacey has been here a few weeks and was supposed to leave on Tuesday ,but decided to stay another week. My Mom and Grandma drove from Cali and we had a really good visit. We went to Temple square on Monday and had a picnic, walked around and saw the Joseph Smith movie. I love it and cannot see it enough. The rest of the fam hadn't seen it yet so I was really glad we went. The spirit is so strong and it is so powerful. We didn't get to stay as long as we wanted to. The kids were going into melt down mode. (Mainly Jamison. He fell asleep during the movie and when he woke up he was a beast.) We did a lot of eating and talking and eating and eating. I think I am just saving up for when I have to hibernate this winter.

Our trip:
On Monday we will leave to go to AZ for Randy's brother's wedding. Congrats Kevin and Jessie we are so happy for you. I can't wait to leave. They are getting married in the Mesa Temple and I have never been inside so it should be awesome. Some of Randy's fam will be there and we are staying with the Martins. We can't wait to see them and finally go on a vacation. Not looking forward to the drive. Please pray that Jamison doesn't get car sick again and puke all over the place! (I am bringing a bowl this time!)

So happy:
I will take lots of pics....with my NEW CAMERA! I scammed Randy into letting me buy another one. I seriously use it every day and thought there is no way I could go weeks with out one especially going on vacation. I love you hunny, you are so good to me! I will try really hard not to break this one too, you just better hold it though.

A sad day...

We have been staying really busy with all the family in town. So many cute pics of the kids. I regret to say my camera has taken its last breath. As we were walking through temple square I dropped it right on the lens. R.I.P. camera, you have treated me well. Luckily I can recover my pics because they were on a memory card. But I am so sad because now I have no camera for our trip to AZ next week. WAAAAAAAANH! Why did it have to happen just at the year mark, when there is no more warranty?? Murphy's law....

Hiking the "Y" #3, At the pool

Image
We thought we would take another little trip to the Y to show Lace while she was here. We were not very smart and went mid day when it was the hottest. Randy carried Abby on his back and carried a back pack. I had to carry Jay at least half way up. He was really tired and had a blister on his foot. We only went to the foot of the Y which is still pretty tough. It was a good work out!
Image
This is at the Scera Pool. The kids loved it. We went with Kelly, Madison, Boston, Shanda and Solomon. It was a crazy day!

Lacey's new hair...

Image Before...

Image
After...
Although it doesn't look like she got her hair done, it is really pretty. She got a not to dark, really pretty brown. She was scared to go too dark, like mine. She also got it cut really cute. When she curls it and gets all dolled up I will take another pic!

New hair color...

Image I think I like it dark better than blond. Hopefully if I get more tan this summer it will look even better. We are getting Lacey's done on Thursday...cut and color I am SOOOO excited for her!

Summer, Summer, Summer time!!!

Image Randy and Jay

Image* Don't mind this photo...we are staring directly into the sun and we look like raccoons. I only add it because I thought the mountains in the back looked cool.

On Friday we went to "Summer Fest" in Orem. (They also had one in Springville, but it was a lot smaller.) It is sorta like a mini carnival but totally free to hang out and enjoy the entertainment and crafts. Randy and his crew were there to promote safety and show all the kids the fire trucks and the ambulance. There was even a life flight helicopter. We hung out and it was really cool to see Randy "working" the crowd. The weather was perfect. We didn't go on any rides because I am really fearful of carnies. Also the fact that you always seem to see horror video clips of when carnivals go bad and the ride breaks down upside down, throws your kid 2 stories or the seat belt doesn't work. For now we will leave it to the professionals and go to the theme parks if we get the urge. (Luckily Jamison didn't ask about them...)

Lacey and Jamison

The Bean Museum

Image
Image My sister Lacey came to visit and we have been staying pretty busy. One of our outings was to the Bean Museum on BYU campus. The kids thought it was great. This is Madison, Jamison and Abby. We also walked around BYU campus. After all that walking...and carting kids around we went to the Creamery on 9Th. We thought we deserved a little treat. But, then again, I always feel I deserve a little treat!

Our garden...

Image
Image Finally. Here are a few pics of our garden. It was doing pretty well for a while. Then, one day we went out there and some of the veggies were chewed down to the nubbins. It was a sad day. We lost 4 cucumber plants, squash and 2 tomatoes. We discovered that the culprit were a gang of snails from the upper east side. They hit us hard and came out of no where. We countered with some baskets, cans and egg shells sprinkled about. Every thing is starting to come back and we are seeing flowers on a lot of them. We can't wait until we can eat the fruits of our labor!

Snapshots!

Here are some pics from Alani's Birthday. What a cute little lady bug. Jay had so much fun. As did Rans and I. You can tell Randy is really partying hard in that party hat!

Tribute to Tim

*Tim don't kill me for posting this photo!
Image It all started the very first day of school. I was a loner who had just moved to the area. I had not a single friend. In fact, the only person I knew in the school was Cassidee and she had a different lunch period then me. So, I quickly made friends with one of the girls from my P.E. class, Julie. I felt like such a loser asking her if I could eat lunch with her. I was really glad I did because she introduced me to one of the coolest girls ever...Timbra. We became fast friends. We had so much in common and could talk and talk to each other. Not to mention the fact that we have the same sense of humor and love of the same things.
Image This is our Math teacher, Mr. Mitchell. He was seriously cool. Timbra and I had SO many adventures in that class. It looks like Timbra is giving the finger in this photo and I blurred it out. Really, I think she was moving and it is a crappy photo. Timbra and I had so much fun in that class that we both failed and had to take summer school.!( We blame: Peter, Tropicana Mike, The Daily D ( Adam), Chad and the Simpsta.)
Then:

Image This photo was taken the last week of school our senior year. We were at the local yogurt place in Cameron Park.

Now:ImageWe just had our 9 year reunion today. Tim is still the same ol' lovable gal. We had the chance to go to her daughter's birthday party. We had a great time and I will post some of the photos in a later post. Here are some of our inside jokes which I am sure only Tim will understand:

  • An elephant never forgets.
  • 4 monther gunther goose
  • Best friend Shane
  • The wheel chair ramp...it's too risky!
  • What if your hands were on backwards?
  • pretzels and grapes
  • It's the last bagel, it must be Friday!
  • Russ, need I say more?
  • Mary Kathryn Gallahger
  • mmm bop!
  • Mark you are a lucky boy
  • Just for the sake of completeness
  • Life savors and Friday night math club
  • Twinsies
  • Dead end sitch
  • There is my blond boyfriend, my freshman boyfriend, and my real pretend boyfriend...

Too Many to name. Tim, I hope you get a good laugh!

What a weirdo...

*I have had to play catch up so check out the next couple of posts...

Image
Image I am not sure why but Jamison loves putting on this one glove and snow hat. Even when I hide them in the bottom of his drawers, he still manages to find them. Here, he found Dad's shoes and my shopping bag. He just walks around then house like that singing random songs....WEIRDO!
X Files

Image
ImageAlso, I am SOOOO excited for this. I love the X Files and I have seen every single episode. (Gotta love reruns) I loved the first movie and thought they did a good job of not ruining it. I think the second one is going to be even better. I know I am a nerd, but I can't wait!

Father/Son Bonding

Randy took Jay to feed the ducks. It was a cool thing that they got to go do together. Jay loved it. I don't have much to journal because I wasn't there, but Rans said they had a really good time and that the ducks much preferred his good bread to the lady who was trying to feed the ducks salad??

Our first trip to the pool...

Image
ImageOn Saturday we got to go to the pool. We went with my friend Shanda and her two kids Solomon and Ivory. They are so cute and so sweet. We started off with a picnic lunch and got the kids nice and sweaty at the park. As we were heading to the pool Jay was running and tripped and pushed Solomon on the way down. Both kids got some war wounds but I think Sol got the raw end of the deal. ( Jay however did develop a big scabby knee...) I was hoping Jay would be a little better in the water, but such was not the case. He clung to me with a death grip screaming like a little girl. I thought maybe he might do better in a heated indoor pool, so Randy and I took him today. He did the same thing and shivered worse than before. I don't know what his deal is. He used to be fearless. He must have some how become traumatized. I plan to take him often so he will be ready for his swim lessons. Cross your fingers!

(By the way I don't have any pics of Shanda and I. I don't normally think camera and a bathing suit are a good combo, speaking for myself of course.)

"Charlie bit me"....this is so cute!
