What a Character...

Image
Funny things about Jamison:

1. He does this funny thing when he is talking about something, but wants you to say what it actually is.
Example#1: He wants to watch Sponge Bob Square Pants on TV. Instead of saying that, he will say, " I want to watch the sponge that is little with yellow with the arms and the pants." He knows what the name of the show is, but he likes it when we guess.
Example #2 He wants pretzels. Instead he says," I want the little sticks with the brown and the white dots on them that taste really good."
Maybe he will be some sort of author or food critic or something creative where you are really good at describing things. I don't know where he gets that from?

2. He is still lining all of his cars up in rows. When I asked why his cars were in rows he let me know that it was the only way they were going to make it to the finish line together (Sweet moment.)

3. Still, with his sensitive nose, whenever he smells anything good or bad he not so shyly exclaims,"What is that stink?"

4. He doesn't like to eat fruit leathers or the fuzzy part of a peach because he thinks they taste like Band-aids. ( I think he gets that from me with my "Shrimp tastes like dolphin beak" theory.)

5. Randy and Jay have a special connection. Randy will say to him,"I love you to the moon!" Then, Jay will respond with what ever is on his mind. Like, "I love you to the bed!" or " I love you to the computer!" The things that they come up with are so funny sometimes!

Oh, Friends...

Image When Danielle sent this pic to me from January it made me so sad, in a good way. It made me remember all the good times with our friends. This was at Cracker Barrel and it was the first time I had ever been there. (We now have one right by our house and I crave the pure maple syrup they have there.) This was right before Randy came out to Utah and we were able to do an adults only breakfast. I am so glad we have stayed in touch with them and I hope we will be able to see them soon. I truly believe we were destined to be friends. Texas brought us together, but we won't let it keep us apart!

I thought I would be adventurous and make some home made salsa. I got a really easy recipe online and went to work. I was so worried all my tomatoes would go to waste, so I was trying to figure out what I could do with them with out canning them. It turned out better than I thought.
6-7 Tomatoes
1/3 Bunch of Cilantro
1 Jalapeno
1/2 Of a big white onion
1 TB Garlic
1 TS Salt
1 TB Lime juice
*Chop it all up and you are good to go! I made three batches. All fresh ,and even better when the products are home grown.

The Trip

Randy's Fam:
Wow, what a long trip. We headed to Cali Aug 7Th. I did most of the driving because Randy had just gotten off shift and only had two hours of sleep. I didn't mind because it helps me with the car sickness. It actually went by rather fast. It was pretty to see the salt flats as we drove by. I had never seen them before. The first couple of days were spent up on Auburn at Randy's parents house. We hung out and spent a lot of time getting ready for the open house. (Kevin and Jessie) It turned out really nice. They had yummy food and Randy's Dad, Mike cooked some tri tip steak on the grill. Yum-o. I took a ton of pictures, but they are all on my sister in law's memory card. ( Hers was a lot bigger than mine.) So when I get those pics from her I will post them. It was great to see all of the family together in one place. Randy's cousins, Jackie, Christi and Patrick were there. What a treat. Jamison LOVED playing with his cousins Lizzy and Adam. Adam taught him how to play with boy toys like transformers, and Lizzy let him play with her pretty necklaces! So fun. About a week later I got to meet up with Karen, Jeanna, Laura and the kids for some more personal time. We tried to swim, but Jamison was in one of his whiny moods and didn't last very long. It was pretty disappointing. So, we bribed the kids with Popsicles and then dressed them up for pictures. Grandma Donna and Grandpa Steve bought all the kids shirts from Disney Land. Awesome.

My fam:
We were able to slip away for a little bit and go to my Aunt Karen's birthday. They had it at my cousin Cory's house. Also a lot of great food and homemade ice cream. We got to see Ashley and Mike who drove up from Malibu. We saw baby Jack for the first time and he was so adorable. Lacey and Abby hadn't flown in yet, but we still had the chance to see everyone else. We also got to watch the opening ceremony to the Olympics together. Which, was amazing by the way.( Later...feeling slightly duped into thinking it was real, while the next mornings paper told us differently.) I got to stay with my Grandma and The carpenters.( Lacey and Abby at Mom's.) We did a lot of visiting, eating and eating. But, when you have such great cooks in your family it is hard not to take advantage of that. Lacey, Abby and my mom came up to Cameron Park so we could all be together. We had a lot of late nights but really good times. We are all SO off schedule.

Movies: Lacey and I went and saw The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants #2. Mom and Gram watched the kids, thank you. It was pretty cute and Lacey and I were really in the mood for a chick flick. I don't think I liked it as much as the first one.

We also watched a movie called Stardust that my Aunt and Uncle had. It was a little bit weird but I found it to be very entertaining. I just makes me think...Who has this just in their imagination??? I think you should see it. Very cute.

Friends:
I was able to meet up with my old pals from Folsom Opt. Brooke, Kendall and Deanne. It was so fun to see them and all of the changes that have gone on in the office. I got to see Brooke's little baby who was just precious. Cheeks that you could just eat, in non morbid way. Luckily I was able to see them twice and go in for an eye exam. I am so happy to report that I don't need glasses any more. Yay! It made me sad to think that I don't get to see them everyday. It is so hard to find good friends.

Feeling like a beached whale:
Don't you go on vacation to feel good about yourself? Why is it that I wanted to stick a valve to my stomach and pump it every night? True, I was "working out" while I was there. 3-4 Mile walk/run every morning and weights that left me with Jello arms, but what the heck? Why is food so freaking good? I cannot wait until I can stick to a strait diet of water, lettuce and ex-lax, not.

ATVs:
So we bugged my Uncle Teddy to take us for some rides on his ATV. It was so scary and fun. Everyone went including my Mom and Jamison. Jay wanted nothing to do with it at first, but loved it once he was on. (That will make his Dad proud!) It was so cool to see my Mom having so much fun! We went on a few really steep hills where you literally flew out of the seat. We also went on some back streets really fast and my eyes got so watery they cried and dried on the same go round. Lacey and I screamed pretty loud on the jumps, but it was SO fun.

The Temple:
Just my luck. The whole time I was there the Sacramento temple was closed for cleaning. We were able to go and look at it and walk the grounds. It was so beautiful. It was so amazing to see the what they have done to the Mormon Center. It has all these beautiful arches and water fountains. I can't wait until I can go inside!

All in all we had a great visit. My Mom and Gram were nice enough to bring me home. The drive went pretty well. A successful trip... Jay didn't throw up! It is so nice to be home, sleeping in my own bed and lying right next to Randy:)

Cali here we come...

Well, we leave tomorrow and head to Sac-a-ta-matoes!(That's Sacramento.) I am feeling pretty prepared and insisted that Randy pack his own things this time. That way he actually has shoes, socks and a belt to wear. (I think he more insisted than me.) We are looking forward to another mini vacay, but dreading the drive. I think I should make Jay stay up all night so he will sleep in the car tomorrow. What do you think? I am so sick of dealing with puke! Looking forward to being in Cali again and just realized it has been two years since I have been back...crazy. I hope I get to see everyone. I might not be able to post for a while but I will have lots of stories and pics when we get back. Wish us luck!

What the?

So I am feeling a little disappointed. My new sis Jessie and I went and saw the new X Files movie. I was so pumped for it. I even posted about it on my blog if you can remember. But I was left feeling a little unsatisfied. I had really high hopes with the original writers and all, but it was really dark. Maybe it is because we were missing the main characters that got killed during the series like, the three side kicks/computer guys, Mr. X and Cancer man. Plus, what is X Files without some mention of Aliens? I felt robbed of 2 hours of my life. Don't get me wrong I loved seeing Mulder's character up to his old habits of chewing sunflower seeds and throwing pencils at the ceiling, but that is all I felt was the same about the characters. I do love a good Mulder/Scully story line I was just shocked that I didn't totally LOVE the movie. (I still recomend the first X Files movie to anyone.) So, anywho...if you don't watch X Files you probably just wasted minutes of your life reading my review...sucker.

Computer, Jam and Prayers...

I don't know why, but I have been feeling a little unexcited about posting stuff lately. Just so time consuming I guess. But, I know I need to do this for my journal and that makes it a little bit easier. Randy and I are gearing up for trip to Cali. We are so excited.
Computer: So, a few days ago I was paying bills online and I started smelling a really weird smell. I thought I was just being me seeing as I have a better nose then a hound dog.( Do hound dogs really have a good since of smell or is that a misconception?) So it wasn't until Jamison came in the room and was like,"What is that smell?" So I called Randy in and luckily he was home. We thought it smelled like an electrical fire. We knew that the fan in our tower was going out because it was making a really loud noise, but now we think it is gone for good. We assume that it was just over heating and right away unplugged everything just to be safe. Well, we have to have a computer and the one we have had is the same one from 2001 that we got used. So it was long over due. We just decided to go and buy one, just like that. Randy and I are normally VERY frugal people, but we knew we needed a computer and it that was just inevitable. So we shopped around quite a few places and settled on one at Best Buy. We got it in a packaged deal with speakers, printer and everything. The best part about it is we said we were not going to get anything if we had to charge it....and miracle, we didn't have to. ( I don't say this to brag, but to share with you that we have a true testimony of tithing!) So here it is, we are so excited. Now we can use it and it won't feel like we are sending stuff with a carrier pigeon! (We haven't tied the wires back yet.)

Image

Jam: Kelly and I made some jam a few days ago and I hadn't posted about it yet. Kelly's neighbor had buckets and buckets of apricots so we were able to make some jam. We also made some raspberry jam from some frozen raspberries Kelly found a good deal on earlier in the year. So yummy!

Prayers: I know that prayers have to be working on me/us. Just when I thought all hope was lost with my "feminine" issues I saw a light at the end of a very long tunnel. I don't think I reported back yet that my estrogen levels were OK. A little low, but doable. So, I was happy to hear my menopausal state might be coming to an end. My OB wrote out the scripts for me for the progesterone and the Famera. I was planning on starting the Progesterone to "start"( Why is it that I feel weird saying the word period on here?)in about 10-14 days. When low and behold..hallelujah chorus...I started on my own! No meds or anything! So now tomorrow I start the Famera and in 21 days we will see if it works! I feel so happy that I can finally get things going to try and get pregnant again. I know that the prayers are really helping and I appreciate every ones love and support with it all.
