All I can say is, " Are you freaken kidding me?" So, we now know what a glorious week this has been for me. Well the day after my total meltdown, I started having back pain on my left side, then little shooting pains. I thought that I had thrown my back out and took some medicine and used a heating pad. Well the next day I woke up with a little rash on my back. It kept getting worse and worse. I looked on webmd and thought I might have shingles. Well, it was getting to the point of beyond painful and I was freaked out that it would give Cort chicken pox since he hasn't been vaccinated yet. So I went to the doctor and sure enough, yes I do.
*side note: When I went to the Dr. they took so long that I laid down on the table for a sec and next thing I knew the nurse was waking me up 20 min later. I had totally zonked out and I was so embarrassed. I may have even been drooling...
Shingles-
"Shingles is a skin rash caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox. This virus is called the Varicella zoster virus (VZV) and belongs to the herpes family of viruses. After an individual has chickenpox, this virus lives dormant in the nervous system and is never fully cleared from the body. Under certain circumstances, such as emotional stress, immune deficiency, or with cancer, the virus reactivates and causes shingles." -Medicinenet.com
Do we think it was the emotional stress? Good. Night. Nurse.
So, yeah. I am in pain. I have to take an antiviral 5 times a day for 10 days and use a topical cream (It was 85 bucks for a tube smaller then my pinkie) 3 times a day. They also put Cort on the antiviral for 4 times a day for 7 days, so he doesn't get chicken pox. I swear. (Really, in my mind I swear because it hurts/itches so bad.)

Yard work again...
So much to do, so little time. This is our side yard. It is one big pain in the rear. Rans hates having to mow the weeds and we have some really good intentions of what we want it to become so Rans went to town. We were able to borrow an excavator from a friend and it was like Randy's wildest dreams come true. He spent all day out in the yard ripping it to shreds and making it a great place to dirt bike.

Jensen's Birthday
2
Look who is 2! It is totally crazy how much time has flown by. I can't believe that my baby girl is already 2. However, she has been acting 2 for quite sometime. And, by that I mean ...terrible. I don't think it is because of the baby. She has been crazy ever since she could crawl. I love the little spirit in her even though she drives me nutty nuts almost every day. She is determined and stubborn and sassy and so sweet when she wants to be. She loves playing outside and playing in the dirt, anything to get dirty and crazy. She also has really good hand and eye coordination so I think she will be really good at sports. Jensen is also ALL girl. She loves shoes and dressing herself. She is not real fluent in language yet. She gets a lot of her sounds mixed up. It could be the reason for most of our battles...I don't know what the heck she is saying! I love that she says,"No thank you." But, it sounds more like,"No tank chew." She loves kitty's and calls them meows. She loves to carry a purse and play with her babies. I can't wait to watch this girl grow up and see what all these characteristic traits bring her in this world. She can do anything, I truly believe that. I love her so much and look forward to all the mother daughter things we will get to do together.

"No you didn't!" (Followed by a snap)
Today I had a major meltdown. I am talking bawling my eyes out, people would have ran in the other direction if they saw me, meltdown. The day started off bad to begin with. I got maybe 4 hours of sleep the night before. It was a combination of all the things of the day that really caused me to lose it. Had they happened one every day I could have handled it no problem.
The first of many things was when I went to put Jensen down for her nap. I went in to check on her and found poop everywhere. All over her hands, the wall, toys and scrubbed into the carpet. Which as of late has been no surprise. This was the 4th time in a row she had now done this. I researched online and found out that putting them into a freezing cold shower was the best way to solve this problem. So I did it and she cried the whole time. I got her changed and put her back to bed hoping that I got my point across. Cortland screamed the whole time I was cleaning up the mess because he had a blow out of his own that I hadn't gotten to yet.
When I went to get Jensen out of her room round 2. Poop everywhere! So, back into the shower again. I am SO sick of cleaning up poop.
Later that day I was pumping some milk and Jensen some how managed to get a permanent marker out of the drawer and draw all over the tile, pantry door, canned goods and wall. I was frantically trying to scrub it off of everything. Some came off and some didn't. She will be wearing a tiger stripe tattoo for probably a month. Still researching online about the rest. (I tried toothpaste, alcohol, anti bac, goo gone, oil eaters and cooking spray.)
While I was cleaning that up, Jensen then managed to dump my entire bottle of pumped milk all over the couch. I had just spent 30 min pumping and Cortland by his point was starving. I had no other milk to give him.(Luckily I had some formula in the cupboard.)
You know that expression, "There is no use crying over spilled milk"? OHHH yes there is! If you knew how precious my mother's milk is, you would have cried right along with me.
I can't say this was one of the worst days ever because I still have the time I flew home from Texas in my top three. But, it was rough. I called Randy sobbing and all he kept telling me was what a good Mom I was and how I could make it through the day. He later surprised me by coming home from work for a couple of hours to help me put the kids to bed and regain my confidence and sanity. It was a big help even if it was only for a few hours.
So, hopefully things have got to get better. If Jensen does another poop project I just might put her for sale on ebay. (With a poop disclaimer of course.) Pray for me people. I need all the help I can get.

Cortland 2 weeks
Weight: 7.01 lbs 9.24%
Length 19.85 inches 18.5 %
Head 13.75 inches 12.22 %
Cortland has been doing really well. We are still having trouble at night. He is only sleeping about 2-2 1/2 hours at a time. It makes it really hard when Jensen is an early riser at around 6:30am. I feel the permanent circles underneath my eyes. I feel blessed because he is an amazing little boy. he only really cries when he is hungry or poopie. But, if you don't feed or change him right that second he gets ticked, and fast. He is nursing really well. I can't keep up with him because he is already eating 4oz at a time. He is now back up to his birth weight, which is really good. He got circumcised at his last visit also. I made Randy go in there so I could love him when he was done. He was really brave and did really well. He is already turning into a little man. I love him so much and can't stop kissing him!

Father's Day
Randy had to work, so we took some cookies to the station and hung out for a little bit. We are lucky to be able to go and see him on holidays. Plus the kids love running around the station.

Last Game
Jay had his last soccer game on Saturday and it was quite the adventure. It was our first family outing since Cortland was born. It was extra tricky cause we had to pretty much pack the house. We were in charge of treats too which was just more to carry. We were so proud of Jay. He played awesome and even scored a goal! He was so shy/thrilled to get his medal. He just smiled when everyone cheered for him. Cort was ecstatic watching his first soccer game and Jensen was great if we were constantly feeding her. I think she ate half a watermelon!

I am hoping to get a double stroller soon so we don't have to do this 2 stroller nonsense.

Slip and Slide
This year we invested in another slip and slide. Our slide from last year died from over use. The kids had fun although it was too exhausting for Cortland, so he took a nap. Jay was too cold so he just laid on the porch and Jensen was being crazy asking Randy to push her again and again!

Baby Boy -Part Two
Part Two:
Cortland came out with an APGAR score of 8 and then climbed to 9. He was healthy and his little cry was so sweet. I was bawling by this point half from the joy and half because the pain had ended. (I could still feel him coming out even though I had an epidural.) The problem came when they went to deliver my placenta. They gave me more Pitocin to try and get it out. I pushed and pushed...nothing. They soon found that I had an " accessory" attached to my U Cord. It was some sort of membranes that attached that were separate from the placenta sack. Everyone found it to be quite strange including me. I joked that it kept Cort company in the womb like Wilson from the movie Cast Away. Anyway, Jennifer, after an hour, still could not get it out. They had to call Dr. Allen from his sleeping bed at home to come and deliver it. He was a STUD. I feel so blessed that he came so fast no questions asked. He put me through some rough torture. My stomach was basically a punching bag. He had to manually extract it. Finally at 2:45am my placenta was delivered. Thirteen min for baby an over 2 hours for placenta...ah. I was so glad to be done. That whole time Randy got to hold Cort and bond with him. Which, was awesome for him, but not so awesome for me. I didn't even get to try and nurse him right away. When I did try and nurse we realize that he had a tied tongue and that it was not going to be a picnic. We then were moved down to our room down stairs They moved us into what all the nurses called the "VIP" room. It was huge and had a fold out bed big enough for Rans to stay.
We got a little rest and then Randy went home in the morning to take Jay to school and to wash up. I hung out that morning. Jessie came by to visit and so did Kelly and the kids. Kelly watched Jensen for us all day which was so nice. Rans then took the kids home for the night and I got some, I mean some, much need rest.
That night was awful. I couldn't sleep so the nurse suggested that I take a little sleep aid and send the baby to the nursery. I was ALL for that considering the night before and feeling like I got hit repeatedly with a baseball bat. I woke up at 4 in the morning with my throat completely swollen shut. My hangy ball was 3 times its size and it felt like I was choking on a piece of meat. I grabbed my call button and sounding like Darth Vader said, "I can't breath." They came running and tried to figure out what was going on. They gave me some meds to reduce the swelling and I was left to wait it out slowly breathing through my clogged nose. I don't really remember much of what when on, but I remember the nurse sitting right by my side for almost an hour running her hands through my hair and telling me to breath slowly and that it would be OK. I honestly don't think I needed anybody else in that situation besides her and that was so comforting. I was able to breath again however my throat was extremely sore and still swollen for days.
That morning Cortland had his little tongue clipped. After talking to the Dr. it seemed like the best thing to do because it was a worst case scenario. He barely cried and went right to sleep like 5 min. later. I was happy we did it. We then found out that he had a little hole above his bum that didn't completely close. So they took him in for an ultra sound and everything came out fine. He was good to go...healthy little boy. Randy and Jeanna then came with Jensen for a visit. I tried repeatedly to get rest, but the nurses kept coming in every 5 min and Cort just wanted to be held. It was rough. Easier then Jay, not as easy as Jents. Randy then came back later that night to take us home. We left the hospital around 7:45pm.

Having my baby
For the short version: Baby boy Bell was born at 1:13am on June 1st, 2011.
Long Version: ( PART 1)
I started out the day not even imagining that I would be having a baby. It was a Tuesday and I was just looking forward to my Dr.'s appt on Wednesday to see how far I had come. That day I did some house work/nesting and probably pushed it a little more than I should have. I knew Randy's Mom Jeanna was coming into town the next night so my fears of being all alone were dwindling. At 7:30pm my Home Teacher and his wife came by for a visit. We started talking mainly about how I wanted this baby to come and how I didn't think I would make it 3 more weeks. ( I was 36 weeks + 6 days) I had put Jensen down for bed, but she was screaming "Mama!" so I told my home teachers to hang on a second while I went to check on her. I put her back in her bed and bent down to grab her a toy and that is when it all started. WHOOSH! My water broke. I peeked out into the hall and yelled out, "Um...Can you excuse me for one more second?" I went to my room and changed my clothes, called Randy from the station to come home and called Jessie to come stay with the kids. (LUCKILY Randy wasn't on a call and Jessie was at home.) I timidly came down the hall and said, "I am really sorry, but my water just broke..." We figured out a plan and Jessie made it over in light speed. Jessie drove me to the hospital and Rans was going to meet us there. Randy was calling me every 5 seconds telling me not to push. It was hilarious. We ended up being right behind him on state street so I told him to pull over and I would hope in his car. He didn't want to, he thought it was too risky, but I reassured him it was fine and that I wasn't even really contracting yet. We made the switch and Jessie went back to stay with the kids. (She and Kev spent the night there with them and handled everything. Awesome.) So we headed to the hospital...
I want to add that this wasn't as bad as when my water broke with Jensen. It was a slow trickle, but still hilarious every time more and more would pour out. By the time I got to the hospital and was checked it was 8:26pm. I was Dilated to a 3+ and was 80% effaced. they then started my IV. They then gave me some antibiotics because my strep B test was positive. This slowed down the whole operation because they like you to have it in your system 4 hours before giving birth. I started feeling sick (Like I always do when they give me an IV) so at 8:55pm they gave me some Zofran. At 9:12pm I got my Epidural. This was awesome because I hadn't really even started having heavy contraction yet. The bad part was that made the epidural kinda painful. Usually I would welcome a stab in the back over a contraction any day. At this point we hung out for a while and watched some TV.
Randy even ran home real fast to change his clothes and grab a few things. When he got back I started feeling really light headed. At one point I remember saying, "I'm going to faint and throw up at the same time." They took my blood pressure and it was super low so they gave me some oxygen and Ephedrine at 10:20pm. That helped right away and my pressure was back up. At 11:25pm They were allowed to give me the Pitocin. They started with the lowest dose because my Dr. was at another hospital doing a C Section and we wanted to see if he could make it back in time. My contractions started to increase and at 12:30 I was dilated to a 5, 90% effaced and the baby had dropped. They then increased my dosage. I started felling pressure and the need to push at 1:00am. They checked me and I was ready to go. (They were shocked I went 5 centimeters and ready to go in less then 30 min.) I then found out that Dr. Parker was not going to make it. :( They gave me an awesome Mid-wife who works with Dr. P named Jennifer. (I also had the most AMAZING nurse named Kimmy who gave me her absolute best care.) So I pushed a few times, and did controlled pushing so he wouldn't come too fast. I ended up needing an episiotomy, but welcomed it at that point. He arrived at 1:13 am on June 1st, 2011. I really wanted a June baby.
