Jay

Jay had a a music performance at school. One where the parents come and watch. He said he wanted to dance. I suggested that he do something that he learned from his drum lesson...he insisted on dancing. I asked if he had a routine or music he wanted and he assured me he had it taken care of. I even tried to call and email the teacher to make sure of what he was supposed to do. Well, we showed up not knowing what to expect and we got a show indeed! We were so proud of him and that he wasn't even embarrassed. The kids loved him and thought he was a rock star!

What the...

Jensen back at work. I came into her room because she had been "napping" for longer than usual. She was so quietly destroying. She opened her closet, got out all her toys and clothes and sprinkled them with magic baby powder. The entire bottle was gone. I really didn't think she could reach it...guess I was wrong.

A little visit

We we able to have Randy's sister Karen and her family up for the weekend from California. Randy's Mom Jeanna also came with them and Randy's Dad, Mike met up with us later on. They came up so Karen could run the Top of Utah Marathon with Randy. Kevin and Jessie also ran it. More pics of that to come. It was a jammed packed weekend with the race, Lexi's birthday party and Cort's blessing.

Cortland's Blessing

We had Cortland's Blessing on Sunday the 18Th at our home. I was so happy that we did it at home. It felt more personal and special. I couldn't resist all the pics of Cort, he was being so cute and happy.

A visit from Papa and Nana

My Dad and Cindy came to visit us for a whole week! This is the first time they have gotten to see Cort. We did a lot of fun things and mostly spent time together. It was such a big help for me while Randy was working. Randy and I also got some alone time. Jay had school during the day which worked out because my Dad also had to work during the day. We went to the pool, out to eat, on walks, golfing etc. Randy and I went on a couple mini dates to sushi, bike riding, four wheeling and frozen yogurt. We also rented some movies. Cindy practically cooked a gourmet meal every night. I could feel my pants getting tighter the longer they stayed. It was so nice to have them here. I felt like I got a vacation and even got to have my own alone time. Then kids were so sad that they were leaving. Jay wondered who was going to play with him (Randy and I apparently aren't good enough) and Jenny wanted to be with them from the moment she woke up in the morning. I feel sad that they live so far and we don't get to see them more often. It was a great visit and we already look forward to the next one!

Baby got back

I have had problems with my back for quite some time. I decided to go and see my sports medicine Dr. that I used last year to go in for a tune up. She adjusted me and my crookedness and then when looking further decided that I needed an MRI. Her conclusions were correct. I have an annular tear which is causing my disc to bulge. So for now I am on steroid therapy and then next week I start physical therapy. It is a slow process and I am not having very much fun. It hinders all my plans of anything and everything I wanna do to be active. I think this happens to me after babies because my core muscles are so weak. So once I can get some basic strength back hopefully things can get back on track. (No pun intended.)

Lego my Eggo

Image

I looked over at Jensen and she had her finger almost fully up her nose. I told her twice to stop picking her nose when she said, "Mama lego." I looked down at what she was playing with and saw all the legos there and soon had relief. I thought I should probably be safe and I took out a pin light and looked up her nose. Sure enough I saw a bright orange object jammed up her nose. I used all of my motherly knowledge to try and get it out. I called Randy to see if the station had some sort of tool that would get it out. He ended up sending his buddy Jason over (who was like 2 minutes from my house) to see if he could do anything. But, nope. It was WAY too far up there. I called the doctor and the soonest that they could see was 7:00pm. (2 1/2 hours later!) I waited it out and then my cousin Lynsey came over to watch Cort and Jay while I took her. She was really brave, but screamed the whole time.It took 4 adults to pin her down while the Dr. took the alligator tool to her nose.It took a good 20 mins of trying. The Dr. said I was going to have to take her to the ER because he couldn't get it. I said a little prayer in my heart and on the next try he was able to grab it. Turns out it was a mini skate board wheel, even bigger then I had thought it was. Afterwards she got a sucker and was happy to be done. Now she says to me, " Mama, lego..nose..sucker." Hopefully she doesn't shove anything else up there hoping to get a sucker! What am I going to do with her?
