Ok, so not too long ago I had come to terms with the fact that I am a 45 year old latin (big thighs and boobs) lady, slightly heavy at about 167lbs which puts me in a tight size 10 bottoms and medium to large tops. I'm 5'5" inches tall, so, all in all, I figured that wasn't too bad. Of course, I wished I were thinner, but after trying many weight loss programs and having pretty depressing results, I decided, THAT'S IT! NO MORE ! I'm not obese , I can look cute in clothes when I dress up, and MOST of all.... I"M HAPPY, HAVE A WONDERFUL HUSBAND, FAMILY AND LIFE AND MANY MANY MANY BLESSINGS TO BE THANKFUL FOR! None ofwhich are diluted in any way but not being a size 6 :)
I had determined that I would be content at this size, try my best to not over do the sugar and carbs and let the chips or hips fall where they may :)
BUT...wouldn't you know it, a new diet comes rolling into town and makes me questions everything I've worked hard to come to terms with. What diet you ask? The HCG diet. I know what your thinking... that's the cooky diet where you inject yourself with some crazy pregnancy hormone and eat only 500 cals a day ! That's just CRAZY ! Yup, you got it and YES initially, I thought it sounded crazy too. But here I am reading and learning everything I can about this thing AND have decided to give it a whirl. I know, I can hardly believe I just typed that myself ! I'm not gonna waste my time trying to defend my decision or explain the theory of this diet to you. You'll have to do that yourself, but my purpose here is to chronicle my journey and see how I do. You can find information at hcginfoonline.com, the Pounds and Inches Book written by the creator of the diet and Kevin Troudeaus book. YOu no longer have to inject as a new under the tongue drops have been developed, so, that also made my decision alittle easier. I've also gone to my local Sprouts health food store, attended a meeting there and got some helpful information as well. I would suspect that other health food places such as Whole Foods and Henry's might be a good resource too. Also, as always I have founds some fun You Tube recipe videos that have been very helpful. I love You Tube :)
So that's it, today is my first entry as well as my first day of the program, not including the 2 days that you have to load up on all the crappy food you can find and shove down your throat.
Here are my totals :
Day 1 : 167 lbs - Load Day -eat everything it sight, sounds fun, but not really.
Day 2 : 168 lbs - Load Day - I'm feeling like a beached whale at this point and have major heart burn and I didn't really eat that much. However I am ready to dive in to the diet, eating light and healthy sounds good to me right now :) I've done some prep work, stocked my frig with fresh veggies and other essentials and cooked some things ahead. My goal is not to have to cook betweenMon and Thurs which are the days I work at very busy doctors office and am exhausted when I get home. I hope this strategy will set up for success as best as possible.
Day 3 : 169.4 - First Day of restricted diet - The morning was good up until 3pm and now I am pretty weak. I am looking forward to my evening meal and my strawberry,h20 and stevia smoothie.
I plan on posting everyday if I can :) I hope to see you on the other side of skinny :)
