COWBOYS DEFEAT THE BEAR RIVER BEARS 16-1

It was a busy weekend for Cowboys Baseball. I know it's late and everyone has probably already gotten word but here's a little recap of the weekend.

On Friday the Cowboys arrived in Garland in a LOUD way to tangle with the Bears.

Things started fast and furious for Grantsville. Ky Fisher lead off the game with a double, Dallin Williams singled, the Wyatt's (Barrus & Smith) each drove in runs... with singles to spot the Cowboys a 3-0 lead.

That was only the beginning. In the 2nd the Cowboys scored 5 more runs to take an 8-0 lead. The BIG blow of the inning was a Nick Arbon bases clearing triple. In the 4th Grantsville put the game out of reach putting up 8 runs to take a 16-0 lead.

Grantsville closed out the win by securing a 16-1 win. They were led offensively by Fisher, Arbon, & Wyatt Smith with 3 hits each. Everyone in the Cowboy line up had at least one hit.

Matt Garrard got the nod on the hill and threw 5 solid innings allowing 3 hits to get a complete game victory.

Next up for the Cowboys will be a couple trips to the 2 county neighbors as they travel to Tooele on Thursday to take on the Buffaloes and then to Stansbury on Friday to battle the Stallions. Both games are scheduled for 3:30.

We also had a busy Saturday as we were allowed to participate in the Grantsville City Easter Egg Hunt. It's a great event and the boys enjoy serving the community. A great time was had by all.

Also our local 14U super league team hosted games at Cowboy Field all day. The boys worked as the grounds crew, announcers, and kept the fans entertained between innings with music along with honoring special guests in the crowd.

I can't say enough about this group of young men. Beyond just the great season they are having, the things they are willing to do for one another and those in the community is awesome. So THANK YOU Cowboys Baseball for always DOING IT THE RIGHT WAY!!!
