My photo
Cody and I were married Dec. 30, 2005. We started out living in a small studio apartment in Utah, then moved back to Idaho for school. Our little boy Wesley was born Oct. 13, 2007. Our newest addition Roslyn was born Nov. 6, 2010. Cody has started medical school at Western University in Pomona, CA and is LOVING it. Along with Cody, I have recently graduated with my BS in Exercise Physiology and am enjoying the time I get to spend with my family in sunny California.

Cody in Action

Image
A couple weekends ago Cody worked at a free clinic performing physicals and taking histories. He loved it. Someone from his school went around taking pictures of the students working and here is one he found. Doesn't he look so professional. He was one of the few that could speak to the patients since most of them spoke Spanish. The day before he spent the day in the OR shadowing orthopedic surgeons ... he REALLY loved that. He's pretty set now that orthopedic surgery is what he wants to do.

Weekly Assignment: Technology

Image

I was sitting at my computer with my camera playing with the ISO settings when Wesley came up with his hammer. I quickly snatched a few shots before I told him no. Earlier I had read that the Digital Photography School assignment was to take a picture of technology. This is the one I submitted. How often do we feel like smashing our computers with a hammer? (We just bought a new one so I haven't felt like that for a while but I know the feeling:)

Photography Challenge

I found a weekend challenge on the Digital Photography School website and thought it would be fun to try. The challenge was to take a picture of shoes and to be creative. The first one was my favorite. These are Wesley's new little church shoes.

Early Christmas Present!

After Wesley was born, I took pictures like crazy and really started getting into photo editing. Soon after that my mom gave me Photoshop for my birthday and I have loved it! The little point and shoot camera that we have used these past 2 years is breathing its last breath so we felt it was time for an upgrade:) We wanted something that I could put a lot of time into while Cody was at school so we thought we would look at D-SLRs. It seems like a lot of our friends have been buying them lately so we wanted to make sure we weren't just caught up in the "Camera Fever." So we waited and I did a ton of research on different cameras, lenses, prices, and how to use them. Finally after 3 months we got one! We asked both our parents to go in on it for our christmas presents, (thank you guys!) and found a great deal on black Friday at Costco! Waiting sure paid off (even though we didn't wait until christmas:)! So here it is...our early Christmas present...wooWOO!

It's funny how boys get so dirty when they play. It really is just part of being a boy. We were so lucky to move into a complex with these adorable boys! Wesley loves hanging out with Sean and Coleman, and I love to hang out with their moms! When they get together they have a blast running away from us moms and getting into trouble:) They sure keep things exciting!

I just love his eyes

Image

If only I can get him to look at the camera more often:)

I probably shouldn't be irritated, but...

So the lady that works in our apartment office knocked on my door this afternoon to tell me that I needed to clean up the side walk chalk on our front porch. Honestly?! It's going to rain on thursday anyway! There wasn' even very much chalk. I guess it not that big of a deal, but I was sure irritated. Oh well. I can't wait till we can move into our own house.

My Crazy Soccer Face

Image

After my game on Saturday I got home and Cody didn't give me the usual hug and kiss and instead said, "What happened to your face?!" I didn't know I had mud all over and remembered that I head bunted a lot of balls during the game. I thought the tiger stripes by my eye were pretty cool.

Pump It Up!

Image

Image

A couple weeks ago we went to Pump It Up and we all had a blast! It's a party zone with 6 huge inflatables. My friend Lorilee told me about it and so we thought we'd check it out for family night. Wesley loved it and of course threw a big tantrum when we left. He was so mad at us it was almost funny:) I guess that's all apart of being 2!

Halloween Cookies

Image
For Halloween, Cody and I made and frosted sugar cookies. Wesley helped as well until he got powderd sugar all over the kitchen. We got the recipe and tips from a friend's blog and they turned out GREAT! It ended up being more fun than I thought, and we got to use the cookie cutters Janet got me for christmas! This just might be a new tradition. Thanks for the recipe Jana!

Our Little Doctor!

Image
Wesley was a doctor for Halloween this year, and boy was he a cutie in those little scrubs. He loved trick-or-treating and dancing at the Halloween Festival. On Friday we went to the Library Halloween party and our Ward Halloween party, and Wes loved running around with all the big kids. Cody and I dressed up as our usuall little red riding hood and her basket. It was a great weekend!

My mom took us all to toys r us where Wes and Madi played with the toys and Wes picked out some of his presents. Chelsi did a photo shoot for us for Wesley's birthday present, and it was a lot of fun! We had his party that night then we had another one the next day on his actual birthday when we got home. Wes loved the birthday song and cupcake part! Thanks for all the gifts everyone. Wes loves them!

My boys are such goofs sometimes. As I went though my pictures from September I came across these random shots. They sure put a smile on my face! "Live long and Prosper!" (Picture #3)

Screaming Deal!

Image

Image
Patience has paid off! We have been looking for a nice jogging stroller with a swivel wheel for about half a year now. We wanted to get one on Craig's List so we could save some money, but those that know me, know how picky I am when it comes to buying used things. I have to get the best quality for my money considering its been used. I found a few nice ones on Craig's list that were all around 75-100 but they all sold before I contacted the seller. Then on Tuesday we went to target and saw a baby trend they were selling for 109. This wasn't that much more than what some strollers were going for on Craig's list so we almost caved in and bought it, but I wanted to make sure it was the best price so I told Cody to give me another day. Yesterday I found this baby with one last look on Craig's List. Its a Dreamer Design Manhattan and retails at around $300. We only paid $65 and only had to drive about 30 minutes to pick it up! We love it! The front wheel doesn't wobble when its not locked and you start jogging. The people who sold it to us took very good care of it. It pretty lite as well. So were pretty excited about it. We've already enjoyed it on our jog this morning. Yay for Craigs List!

We've Decided to Expand our Family!

So we bought a fish! Wesley LOVES his fish. His name is Nemo. Wes picked it of course. He would not let us touch his fish all the way home from the pet store. In fact he kept wispering "I got chu" and "hug," on our way home. He has been very excited about this for a long time. We've had the fish bowl set up for a while now, and he has talked about the fishy in the fish bowl at least once a day. Well, weclome to the family Nemo:)
