The first week of April was spring break for Ella and Isaac, so we took the seemingly rare opportunity of not having school and visited with Gma and Gpa Marshall for a couple of days, and then with my parents for a couple of days. Craig, of course, still had to work, but met up with us at the end of the week for a Kings Dominion day.
The kids and I first met up with Pam and Ben at their country home, and ran around and explored for a while. The kids had a blast, and it was absolutely the most perfect day to be there!
They totally conquered those bales of hay.
Isaac loved the rides with Grandpa.
This is not their dog. It's a neighbors dog who always comes over when Pam and Ben are at the house because it just craves their attention. It's a nice dog, just acts very excited sometimes, which end up scaring the kids a lot.
It was an awesome day in the country!
The next day we went to the Richmond Metro Zoo. Ella got a kick out of this monkey.
After the zoo, we headed out to meet up with my parents, and took the kids to one of my favorite childhood spots, Friendly's. Orin and Sarah were also able to come along, and it was a lot of fun!
Then we headed back to my parents for a couple of days of play.
... and apparently cuddling.
I love this look of pure joy and excitement on Isaacs face!
And here is Ella trying her hand at photography.
And there is no visit to Grammy and Papa's house without wrestle time.
... and driveway play time.
That Saturday we had a Kings Dominion family day.
It was a great spring break that flew by, and the next thing we knew it was back to school and normal life. Including, of course, lots of play dates with Ella and Isaac's best buds (and next door neighbors). I love this next photo. They have such a dreamy childhood.
The week before Easter, we attended our neighborhoods big Easter party. The kids had a blast!
and being inspired by something I saw on Pinterst, I got all crafty and made the kids a cute Easter egg lunch. Poor Evie missed out this year. It was a lot of work, and I knew she wouldn't really appreciate it yet!
Here are the kids on Easter morning. Ella had a bigger than usual basket to prepare her for our upcoming family vacation!
After church we headed to Pam and Bens to have an Easter dinner with them and the other in-state family members. It was a lot of fun, as it always is when the cousins get together!
Here is sweet Katherine, and Brooke.
April was a pretty fantastic month for us... and it only got better toward the very end (and beginning of May) when we had our big Marshall Family Disney Vacation! More on that to come.
