WARD ICE CREAM SOCIAL

Image

Image Okay...Our ward had an ice cream social. Everyone was supposed to bring their favorite homemade ice cream. The judges would decide who's was the best. The Larsen's have won the last four years so we decided to step it up! We make an ice cream pie! Chocolate mint ice cream with brownies on an oreo crust topped with oreos and shavings of Andes Mints! We had whipped cream but forgot to bring it. ha ha We made signs and wore them into the gym. Connolly's Rule, Larsen's Drool!" Cash wore "It's a Political Thing, I'm Just Here For the Ice Cream!" And so on..."We also brought some "special" toppings for their ice cream like "chocolate syrup" (molasses) and "sugar flakes" (onion flakes) and so on. We had a blast, but alas, we did not win. Despite all our efforts, the Larsen's took it again! I have to admit, their ice cream was delicious! We did get the "Chunky Munky" award! Whatever that was. We finished off the evening by sneaking over to the Larsen's and decorating their lawn with our signs! ha ha

Holden's Mission Call!

When Holden received his mission call, there were so many friends in attendance that I literally had to climb over the couch to get from place to place! Crazy! He was so nervous. He really had a great group of friends this year. I didn't get any pictures at his farewell because there were too many people! I didn't even get to speak to him after sacrament meeting because I couldn't get to him! ha ha There was no way I could have gathered everyone together for a picture! Five of his friends were able to join in when he was set apart as a missionary. It was a wonderful day.

Bryan, Tanner and Holden Missionaries!

Image
Image We had a wonderful time at the Salt Lake City Temple. Holden, Bryan and Tanner were held up for about an hour talking to a guy after the session. Very interesting man that literally memorized the Book of Mormon! Yes, the entire book. We all did a session with Grandma Gunnell while Grandpa babysat. Thanks Grandpa! We then had the opportunity to perform sealings with a member of the Temple presidency. Awesome night!

Tweenlight.. ha ha

Another posting never added to my blog. An afternoon free of rain in Idaho Falls. Emma is very talented! Way to go kids!

Tangee's Talent Show

I never did post this on my blog. Many of you have already seen this. Tangee and Kindle (Blonde) picked the song, actions, clother, hair... well everything!
It was really cute and fun to watch them put it all together.

Ochre Temple Visit

Lightening struck Angel Moroni a couple days before we got there.
View of the Ochre Temple in Utah. I think they said that Ochre means shiny mountain. They really did sparkle from where we were.

Idaho Falls

Holden and I loved this temple lit up at night. The pictures don't quite give it justice, but it was beautiful. Holden received his endowments here with Grandma & Grandpa Gunnell, Julie, Denis, Bo, Tanner, Bryan, Robin and Todd & I. We then went through the Ochre Temple, did a session in the Salt Lake City Temple and later the Mount Timpanogos Temple. We were basically Temple hopping. Holden also had the opportunity to go to the Mesa Temple with several of the missionaries serving in Mesa.

Holden Graduated!

Image
Image

Image
ImageHolden's graduation night happened to be on one of the three nights of rain we get all year! It was miserable. The speakers were all under a canopy so they didn't feel the need to shorten even one sentence in their two hour talks! Apparently they were unaware that we couldn't hear a word they were saying! Miserable I tell you! Todd brought me a soft comfy lounge chair with a built in umbrella and a rain coat. At one point I turned to him to tell him that I was sick of the water pouring into my chair every time I moved. The look he gave me was priceless! Poor guy was sitting on a hard folding chair with the rain just pouring down on him! However, my sympathy quickly came to an end when I saw that he had brought a bullhorn. Yes, an obnoxious loud bullhorn. Did he use it to humiliate Holden? You bet. Were the security guards furiously looking for the culprit ready to kick them off the field? Absolutely. Thank goodness they never found us. In fact, thank goodness for the loud rain! Poor Holden.

We are very proud of our Holden! He made it in the top 10 % of Mountain View!

Finally

I have been neglecting this blog long enough. I can only facebook or blog. Not both. Ha Ha Anyway, here are some cute pictures from Father and Sons in May. They all had a great time. Although, I think it took 27 hours to pack for 15 hours of camping and 30 more to unpack!
