So I have been chastised for my lack of blogging updates... So here's a little rundown of my last 2 months:

January

  • I spent almost this entire month sick with one thing or another. It was awful. Just as I would be getting over one thing, another would hit.

  • I got a new job. I'm still a substitute, but I now have a contract, work full time, have benefits, and am guaranteed some sort of job every day. I am now part of the the Professional Development Substitute Cadre. I'm one of the people they send in when teachers have professional development meetings or classes. There are some downsides, like I had to leave my long term sub job early, I have no choice about where I go (which can include high school and junior high), and it ends in May. But at least I am getting paid more and I know I have a salary until then which is very helpful when you're getting married!

  • My birthday was wonderful. Jason was so sweet. He gave me a bunch of coupons for things that I can make him do for me and got me a gift certificate for a massage. :) That was glorious by the way.

  • We bought a car! It's a 2007 Toyota Camry (NOT one of the recalls) and I love her. Her name is Gloria.

February

  • Valentine's Day was splendid. :) Jason surprised me with a picnic in the park. We also walked around the temple and just enjoyed a very nice afternoon and evening together.

  • I went through the Temple on the 15th. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. I wish I could describe how I feel, but it's beyond words. I am also so grateful for all of the support that I had from family and friends. It was overwhelming to see how many people love me.

I'll try to be better about blogging, but I have no guarantees until after this wedding is over! :)

I'm Engaged!!

So this Christmas had to have been the best Christmas ever! I am now engaged to the most incredible man in the entire world. See?

Image Not the most attractive picture of me I know.
So here's the story...
Christmas Eve, Jason and I had decided we wanted to go watch the sunrise. I wanted to just drive up to South Mountain and watch from there, but Jason really wanted to hike to see the sunrise (his reasoning was so that there wouldn't be a lot of people around when he proposed). I knew he really wanted to hike, so I went along with it. We decided to hike the same trail that we hiked for his birthday. That morning, it was really cold and really early. I was not enjoying my hike up the mountain. Little did I know, Jason had a little surprise waiting for me in his jacket pocket. Getting up that mountain was no trouble for him since he knew what was going to happen on the top. We finally made it to the top in time for the sunrise. Just before the sun rose Jason told me that there was something up there that he didn't show me when we were up there before. He told me to close my eyes. I was skeptical, but did it anyway. I then could hear him rustling through his stuff, so I got suspicious. I started to realize what was happening. I was getting all excited and then he had me open my eyes. He was kneeling there on one knee with the box open with the ring in it. I started jumping up and down and squealing. After I calmed down, he asked me if I would marry him and of course I said yes. Needless to say, I was a lot less grumpy about going down the mountain. :)
Check out the beautiful ring he bought me. :)

And now it's official! I am getting married to Jason Paul Morgan on April 10th at 10:30 AM in the Mesa Arizona Temple where we will be sealed for time and all eternity.

Image I love him so much. Jason treats me like a queen. He's going to be a wonderful husband and father someday. There is no better person for me who could make me happier. He makes me want to be a better person and makes me so happy when I am with him. I cannot wait until we get to start eternity together.

Kristi is Home!!!

So I'm so excited to have my best friend home! I've missed her a ton since she's been gone. She's a huge support and strength to me. It's so great to have her back!

I had a lot of fun going to the airport and waiting for her with her family. I will put pictures up of her homecoming as soon as I get them.

Sorry I've been so lame...

So as you can tell, I have been absolutely terrible about updating my blog. I didn't even put anything up for Thanksgiving and all of it's awesomeness. Oh well. If you want to see, look at my sisters' blogs.

Things are still going really well with the 4th graders. It's been a little harder with this group than with my 3rd graders last year, but I am still really enjoying it and am continually grateful to be working every day. That being said, I am so happy that we are on winter break right now. It came at the perfect time. :)

Jason is still just about as wonderful as always. I probably cannot say more without getting all mushy and gushy and making you all gag, but what I will say is that I feel like the luckiest girl in the whole entire world. And twitterpated is probably an understatement. I'm so happy.

And here's for some super exciting news..... Kristi comes home tomorrow!!! I'm super duper excited to see her! I've missed her a ton, but we've written each other just about every week so we're just about as close as ever. What an awesome Christmas present to have her home!

I'm really excited to spend Christmas with Jason this year. We are spending Christmas Eve with my family and then after opening presents Christmas morning, we are heading over to spend time with his mom's side of the family and then on Saturday, we are heading down to Tucson to spend time with his dad's side of the family. We will have three fun-filled days of Christmas. I'm pretty excited.

So I have some exciting days ahead! I hope all are doing well and that everyone has a very Merry Christmas!

Grateful

Yesterday, I started my long-term substitute job at Webster Elementary. It's been great so far. The students are wonderful and it's been really easy so far! I'll be there until February, so I hope everything continues to go well!! I have been so blessed, and I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to teach, even if it isn't in the circumstances that I wanted to be in. I know that everything happens for a reason and I have a lot to learn from it all. May I learn quickly, so I can move on from this lengthy trial! :) But still amidst all the crumminess of life, Heavenly Father has blessed me with so much good and so much happiness. I can't help but be grateful.

The State Fair

Saturday night, Jason and I went to the Arizona State Fair! His dad had free tickets that he gave us so we decided to go and see Kelly Clarkson in concert. It was so good! And I had a really fun time just going around the fair with Jason. I wouldn't dare go on any of the rides except the ferris wheel and that was even a little scary for me. Lol! Jason's the greatest for putting up with me! :) (Oh and check out my new haircut!)
