ImageIt is Nov 2 and it is 75 degrees. My roses are STILL blooming. The south has really crazy weather.

Image
ImageI'm going to have to try and get a picture first thing in the morning or at dusk. For some reason when the light is low, the red shows up better. I took both of the tree pictures today. The one without the leaves was much prettier a few days ago. Lovely tornado weather ruined that.

Halloween

The kids and I had a lot of fun this Halloween. We went to the Harvest Fest that our church hosts every year. We only stayed about 20 minutes before it got too crazy. After losing site of Paisley one too many times we headed over to base housing for some trick or treating. (I found out yesterday at church that this was a banner year for Harvest Fest, over 800 people came)

We hit about 10 houses on base and then called it a night. Silly me forgot the stroller and Paisley was getting tired of walking. The other two were losing all of their good manners and no longer listening and walking next to me. Not a good combination when people are running around like crazy and it's dark outside. Even though they didn't get to go to too many houses both Lorelei and Houston agreed that they had fun.

I decided that this year I was going to dress up. Why should the kids have all the fun? I think I had the most fun with my hair. The down side was that it didn't quite turn out the way I was hoping so I had to get creative.

I bought some rinse in hair dye (the kind that only lasts until you wash your hair next) and it really didn't do much to the over all color of my hair except for turning my highlights green. Eww!! So I went with my back up plan. Black hair spray paint. Then came the red hair gel. Originally I just wanted to put in on the ends of my hair...best laid plans. It ended up being so thick that it was easier just to streak it through my hair all over. By the time it was all said and done and all the hair paint was dry, my hair was so stiff it couldn't move at all. Even though it didn't quite look how I wanted I was overall pleased with the results.

I Do Exist!!!

I do know how to blog. I bet some of you were beginning to wonder about that.
I'll have to post a more detailed blog later. (yes, i will actually post in the near future, quit rolling your eyes at me)

ImageWhen my friend, Lisa, moved this summer to D.C. I inherited some of her plants. This one is my favorite. My picture doens't do it justice. Too bad Alan doesn't live closer!

Image I forget what PWOC event I was at, but while we were at the chapel Lorelei was running around the annex like a mad woman and somehow managed to fall into the TV stand. The amazing part was that she only manged to smash the very edge of her ear.

Image For Lisa's farewell party we had a Noah's Ark theme since she collects them. I found this great photo online of a watermellon ark punch bowl. I figure it's not bad for my first attempt. Next time, when I have more time, I'll make that roof that was supposed to go on it.

Image Just a random picture of my fatty cat, Bonkers. She's topping about 15 pounds now.

Image Lorelei wanted to wear her crochet skirt and Houston helped with the rest of the outfit. I think it is hilarious that he squeezed her into a size 12 month jacket and that she let him. What's really funny is that except for the sleeve length, the jacket fits.

Loser Blogger

I just looked at my blog and noticed the date of my last posting. Wow, I really have been a loser blogger lately!!! It's not my fault, though. And anyone who has every been on Facebook can attest to that. It is just too darn addicting!! Especially the Hatchlings application. It's an easter egg hunt that never ends!! Too much fun.

I'll try in the future not to be such a loser blogger. :)

Makes Me Nervous

Sorry about the poor quality, the humidy was so bad that day. Every few minutes the camera lens would steam up.

The upside, now we all know that Paisley was definately ready to quit PT when her therapist went on maternity leave. (I have some more videos that prove this. She started walking full time on vacation in May, I just can't find them). The downside is that she is no longer allowed outside by herself. (by that I mean, with her brother and sister and me checking every couple of minutes, like I used to be able to do when I made dinner. Oh well.)

If you listen real careful, you can hear her say "wee" as she climbs.

Finished!!

Image Here is the finished product. For the most part I am pretty happy with the end result. The special, customized touch is that I am betting this is the only Noah's Ark picture with border collies in it. My friend has a 15 year old border collie that she and her family have to put down for health reasons. (he's got old creaky joints and is now in congestive heart failure). I hope this is a special way to remember him.
