Tinkerbell half-marathon

What can I say about this trip...I LOVED IT!!!
Clint signed my sister and I up for this as an anniversary present to me.  I was shocked!!   He had asked Haley what I would want and she threw this idea out to him.  Pretty smart on her part because she new she would have to go too!!  He ended up signing us up as a team...Tweedle dee and dum is what he called us.  LOL!  The race was to take place the last weekend in January.  Which was perfect!  something to look forward to after the holidays and also something to keep you motivated to keep working out through the holidays! I then talked Ris and Sun into signing up as well.

We stayed a night at Haley's father in laws house in St George one night then continued on to Jenn's in California.  Jenn and Kevin could not have been any more fabulous.  The best hostesses ever!!  We got there and went on the best pre run in such a beautiful area.  The weather could not have been better!  We ate (LOTS), shopped, went to the beach, ate, shopped etc.  We really had such an amazing time.  I know for all of us it was a greatly needed trip.

Then we left Jenn's to pick up packets and get ready to race.  The race itself started at 545 in the morning which meant alarms started going off at 345!  We somehow got put into coral D which would not have been bad but there was 15,000 runners!!!  Only 9386 runners actually finished the race.  Either too slow or injury etc. In a nutshell you were constantly weaving in and out of the crowds for the first  half .  The first 5 miles were in Disneyland then through the streets of Anaheim.  They had bands and entertainment all along the way.  Then the last few miles were through California adventure.  We took our time and had a blast.  We were not going for a fast time.  We stopped and took pictures along the way with the characters and at certain "hot spots" we always take pictures at when we go to Disneyland!  For stopping as much as we did I think we did awesome!  Also considering we started almost at the very end of the pack to gain that much is awesome!! I also have to add in that Ris was 13 weeks prego and rocked it.  I love these girls more then anything!!  We love to run but we all know that it is so much more then that!!
My results were
Time-2:07
Overall place-879/9386
Division place 173/1717
I have to say that I have never felt so good in a run.  We got done and I honestly could have kept running.  So much easier running at sea level then here.  HUGE difference!
Now for the craziest part of the race.  So unexpected!  My sister and I ended up taking 3rd place in the sister/sister division!  Makes me want to go back and kick some but cause I know we could have killed it!  We took 3 out of 114 teams signed up!
I will FOR SURE do this again and would recommend it to anyone!

Dakoda and his TONSILS!!!!

FINALLY!!!  This poor kid has been sick so much because of his tonsils!  It is so beyond frustrating that the Dr.'s like them to have a positive strep test 5+ times before they want to do something.  Every time I take him to the Dr. it is sore throat related.  I either leave there with a negative strep test only to be in the insta care that night or next day and its positive.  Frustrating!!!  His tonsils have always been huge.  Sometimes to the point it sounds like he has a mouth full of food.   As a mother I think we know in our guts when something is not right and I finally said enough is enough send me to an ENT.

We went on the 1st and they had Dakoda scheduled for the 5th.  The Dr. confirmed what I knew was wrong.  He said his tonsils were HUGE.  I showed him the video of Dakoka snoring and he said they would check out his adenoids while in there.  No little guy should sound like that.  He was so nervous but did so GREAT!  The Dr. said when they took his tonsils out they crumbled like cottage cheese and were full of tonsils stones.  Due to being so infected.  They also took the adenoids as well.  The only scary part was in the recovery room they finally put him on oxygen because his breathing was dipping into the 50's.  Little guy was tired!  It is a little scary seeing them be under and hooked up.  So glad that its all over with!
Hoping this is and end to this nonsense!!

Dakoda's baptism

Dakoda was baptized on Feb 4th.  December is just to crazy!  It was fast and furious because of Clint's schedule.  But really when it comes down to it I think that's how these things should be.  No stress and just about the baptism not all the extra stuff we as mothers try to put on ourselves.  He had a great day.  Got to pick pretty much everything we did that day!  Love this guy so so much!!

Dakoda's football season

Football season for Dakoda has come to an end.  And I have to say I am sad about it!  I can't believe I even feel this way.  I thought I would have a house full of baseball players.  Not the case.  So much more came out of football season then I ever imagined.  I loved seeing Dakoda push himself.  I loved how intently he listened to his coaches.  I loved the sweaty mess he always was.  This is the one time of year I do not mind that stinky boy smell.  And its strong!  I LOVED the bond that him and my Dad created even more then they already have.  Clint was gone a lot during football season and my dad was always there.  He LOVED it!!  There are so many things I loved about football  Koda Loved that he got to play with Treyce!  Which meant I got to see Sun everyday!  He met another boy on the team that has become one of his really great friends as well.

Koda played really well and got made a captain on the team.  He made an 80 yard touchdown among the many he made.  He played hard and always with everything the kid had.  He was Quarter back and Treyce was his center.  It was so funny to watch the two of them.  They always had each others back.  you messed with one you got the other!

I love sports period!  So many great things come out of playing them!!  I absolutely can not wait til football season starts up again! By the time football had ended I had over 2500 pictures!

I love this picture!  It is a step by step of one of Dakoda's tackles.

Dakoda was one of the few kids that could actually aim and throw the ball.  I loved when they would do actual plays!

Pheasant hunt Dec. 2011

One thing I know Clint looks forward too is spending time with his family.  Esspecially this!   He loves taking the boys hunting.  Koda was sick this day so he could not go.  Gage who usually likes to stay home with me wanted to go which made Clint's day even more.  Clint also knows he is in big trouble whenever he forgets the camera.  So good job Honey!!

Family Pictures 2011

Family pictures this year were surprisingly FUN!!  I know I am not alone when I say how stressful they can be.  When we look back at pictures and we all look to be smiling but really at the time your telling your kids "hold still, don't move, smile, quit bugging each other, etc."  This year there was none of that.  I LOVE having pictures to look back on.  I really need to get back on my game about taking pictures!

Colt is getting so grown up!

Gage is still my poser and I hope he always will be!!
Image
He for sure gets everyone smiling during pictures!
Image
This one was so funny!  The boys were so scared "Big Bird" was going to sneak up on them.  So Clint came around the corner and scared them. So glad the camera was out and ready!
Image
I really have to say that I do not mind that I am out numbered 4 to 1...I LOVE them!

I had to put the one of the barn and the little house in.  They both bring back so many memories for me and I am so glad the boys get to experience them all as well!  My grandparents lived in this little house with my mom and her brother.  It has a total of three rooms.  I could not even imagine!

Last but not least our favorites! I told everyone to put on what ever they wanted that would best describe them.  This is what everyone came up with.  Clint and Colt of course went straight for the hunting gear, Gage and Koda went straight for the football gear.  I went for the running gear.  The red tutu because its Christmas and Fun!!
