We went on Trek for four days June 13th , I have written a lot about this on my other 2 blogs but I wanted to post these pictures so that my children on the trek could see all of them. I took a lot of pictures so here they are!! I do just want to say how thankful I was to be blessed with the great family that we had on the trek. They were all terrific and I could have taken all of them home and called them my very own kids! It was a great experience and I have a great love for them and am excited to see how they go forth in their individual lives. We had three girls, Abbey Olsen, Adeline Pugmire, Dulce Patino, and three boys, Tate Bradfield, Bryce Nielson, and Brock Hansen. Thanks so much for the tremendous experience we had with all of you.
Getting ready, get set,
Go!
The trials that were hated the most were those that had to ride in the cart, they felt terrible that everyone else had to push.
A mighty fine group of men.
We had a barefoot trial and they fought over who had to do this one, so Bryce and Tate both went barefoot for 20 minutes.
Ouch!
It was nice to be able to sit down and rest during the devotionals.
A beautiful group of young women.
Love these girls.
we needed a brake going down the hills. Thanks, Brock!
Going through 6th crossing.
It was actually quite refreshing even those it was slimy and gooey.
It took us awhile to dry off to get our shoes back on.
I had to get proof that Brock was a worker!
Hi, Brock,
The women's pull,
We almost made it to the top by ourselves.
There were only 4 of us and then we had two girls who came to help.
Brock's trial.
4 ounces of flour, is pretty disgusting with just water.
but we all tried it until we could eat no more.
It was kind of sobering to think that this was the pioneer's ration of food for the day.
Maybe some salt and pepper will help, NOT!
Even Pa, who can eat almost anything had a hard time with it.
The shallow grave at Rock creek.
with 13 in one grave.
Bryce did great with the trial of being blind, it is a lot harder than it looks and a new kind of trust is needed.
The bog,
yes, it is quite boggy and Pa went through it in his socks.
mmm, look at that mud!
Glad I had some oxi -clean at home.
I think this is one of the parts of the trek that I disliked the most, having to put up, take down, put up, take down, put up, take down and do it again over and over. But it was nice to have a tent to sleep in, ( Man, what the pioneers would have done to have my sleeping bag, okay, now I feel bad that I disliked this part.)
The BIG bag, ( way to go Brock!)
Tate, never quite got his fill of food, until the last day when he could take what ever he wanted! ( Are you full yet?)
Cub River ward Trekkers!
Tate made a sweet's creation and decided that he had to try it before we left.
mm, look at all that sugar!
It is kind of making me gag to see him take a bite!
We had lots of water breaks.
We made it to Zion!
Thanks again to all of you in my family I learned much from each one of you and yes, I would go back in a heart beat!
Thank You!!!!
