Tew-Massey Annual Christmas sleepover!!

So starting last year, we with our best friends, decided we are going to have a christmas sleepover every year for the rest of our lives. This tradition includes bowling, gingerbread house making, and whatever else we want followed by a sleepover. So far the girls have won both events both years! (the girls are also the judges of the gingerbread house contest). We decided this year that we are going to have to do bowling as couples next year because we are going to implement a bowling trophy that the winner gets to keep in their house for the entire year! We didn't take a lot of pictures but here are some of the fun night! Love you Aubrey and Eric!!
The pictures are out of order because I don't really know how to change it. I tried once and it went whack.

The boys ruined our house once we declared the winner!

The boys' "2D but 3D" house. I also have the mention that their fence was made out of doggie treats. Dustin in an effort to convince us it was candy ate one.

We thought our gingerbread house needed a climbing wall.

Senior Night

Well....Last week was senior night for Dustin!
It's so crazy how time flies!!!!!
This is the 3rd season I have watched him play.
I knew I was sad to not watch him play football anymore....
BUT
didn't realize how sad until I mentioned it in my talk last Sunday at church
and started BAWLING.
Anyways, one more game left of the season,
just wanted to thank all of the friends and family who
have supported Dustin through all of it!
He always had TONS of family coming to the games
& TONS of friends
(even though they didn't have the best team)
It is so fun to see how much of a hero he is to the nieces, nephews, cousins, and and little boys from the community.
This last game Dustin got over 40 tickets for family and friends who came and supported him!
He had family members come from California, Chicago, St. George, and areas all over Idaho come to watch him play!
He is loved!
He tied the school record this year for the longest returned interception!
100 yards!!!
aka- he will hold the record FOREVER
so thank you thank you thank you everyone!
and cheer for Dustin on Saturday at Eastern Washington
for his last college football game of his life.

You're it!

Well...I just read on my friends blog that she tagged me to answer some questions, and since I am trying to find anything to do BUT study....I will do it!

1-What is your favorite Christmas tr
adition?
Hmm...Waiting at the top of our stairs while my dad went to check if Santa came..then all of us kids fighting to the death to get down the stairs.
2-What is your favorite way to relieve anger/frustration?
I don't really have a method but I need one...I have realized I suck at coping with anger...and instead of coping I break out. :)
3-What was the last good movie that you watched? Why?
Hmmmm...Probably Toy Story 3. It was touching and I will admit, I teared up at the end!
4-What is the first thing you think of whe
n you wake up?
5 more minutes!
5-Name 5 things that make you happy!
Dustin, my family, the gospel, pictures, my friends!
6-Describe your perfect day.
Hm. well if it is one that has already occured...definitely my wedding day!
If it is to describe the perfect day in the future.....somewhere warm, preferrably on the beach, drinking mountain dew, with dustin.
7-What is the worst job you have ever had?
being a student :)
8-If you could relive the best day of your life, what day
would it be? I want details! :)
WEDDING DAY!! You only get to live it once! The weather was perfect on such a STORMY day! We were so blessed!

1. What is your favorite commercial on TV right now? Or recent favorite?
You lint licker! Orbit commercial
2.What do you and your significant other argue about most often?
geez I dont know. a dirty house? yes it is dustin

3. If you were the lunch lady at school, what would you make to gross the kids out? My lunch lady made PB&J pizza to get you started with ideas...
Poop with boogers on top. I think thats pretty gross personally.

4. Open up your picture file on your computer. Count across or down 7 pictures, and you are not allowed to skip! Post it for us to see with a caption explaining if you would like

Image
No explanation necessary!
6. What is your worst experience as an employee?
oh man...working in the health field, there is too many. Once had a patient ask me if it was ok that he jacks himself off, or if he needed to go and talk to his bishop.
7. What item can you never walk by in the grocery store without being seriously tempted to buy it? * REESES!!!!
8. The most awkward thing to happen to you last week was...
A creep in the grocery store was taking pictures of me in the grocery store with his camera phone. HE was in his 50's! I had to be escorted out to the car! HORRIBLE

I dont know

Do you ever have those days where you feel so blessed to know the people you do?
I do.

I have the hardest time trusting people I don't know, and sometimes even those I do know. Dustin is always teling me to just trust peoples intentions. He is always wanting to pick up hitch-hikers on the freeway....and I am always convinced they will kill us if we do.

I don't know why I'm that way. Maybe because I figure if you don't trust others you won't ever have problems with others. Just rely on yourself and you'll be golden.

WELL- I dont know what it is about this week but I feel so lucky to have such wonderful people and examples around me and I am actually starting to think maybe people aren't as bad as I think they are.

there was a girl that came into the emergency dept. this week with a really bad headache- to make a long story short, they ended up diagnosing her with a brain tumor. despite the scary news, this girl was so optimistic. she kept talking about how she knew everything would be ok. i couldnt believe it. i had an experience over a year ago where the doctors told me I had pre-cancerous cells. I freaked out thinking I was going to die. i definitely was not optimistic. and my condition was nowhere compared to hers. I wish I had as strong of faith as her and others around me. She just kept saying how she knew the Lord was in control and regardless of what happens to her, she knows it will be the right thing.
Amazing?

I have another amazing person who had a horrible experience this past week. She is so positive about her current situation and such a great example to those around her. Even during this hard time! You would never know something that bad had happened to her, unless she told you. She is always so kind to everyone around her and always helping others. I feel so blessed to know her and so blessed to be able to witness her great example in how to treat those around you.

anyone out there have an amazing husband?
I do.

I think I transform into a witch sometimes. I'm not sure why really...maybe it's like a wolf type thing when the moon comes out. I don't know how he can handle me some days.
BUT
He is the greatest person on the planet.
I am so grateful to have him. and grateful for his example on being so kind to people and teaching me to trust in people more. He is always willing to help anyone, no matter the time of night or day. He is THE greatest example of service.

I am the worst. haha

ImageDoes anyone feel as blessed as I do about siblings?
I have the worlds greatest sisters and brothers and on the planet.
Actual ones, in-laws, and best friends who I think of as my siblings.
I don't really know where to start or finish.
so I guess all I can really say is. THANK YOU
ImageImageImage
Cutest nieces and nephews, best brothers. aunts and uncles, grandparents, friends.

ImageWho am I missing?
Oh just the ones who made Dustin and I possible.
My mom is the best example of kindness. she never has a bad things to say about anyone.
(even when she has every right to say something mean about someone.)
She is the best example of kindness and sacrificing her time for others.
always knee deep doing projects/cooking dinners/ cleaning the house etc.
ALWAYS for others

ImageMy dad is the best dad ever. He is the greatest example to me of true love.
He will do anything to try and make a situation better for those he loves.
He tries everything and anything he can in his power to try and make those around him happy.
ImageMy mother in law is amazing. She is the greatest example of hard work and perseverance. She has been through more than anyone should ever have to go through and come out of it. Her love for her children is also amazing. I love watching how proud she is of her all her children.
ImageMy father in law, I have never met. However, I am So grateful for the example he has left and his spirit that we feel every day.
I feel that because of the example of service that he led, that is why Dustin is so willing to serve those around him. He had a great example that taught him how to treat people. I love hearing stories about him, and can't wait to meet him someday.

well this post was way too long......A journal probably would have been a more appropriate place to write all this. I usually hate when people spill their guts out all over the internet. But oh well.

I feel blessed today.

Weekend Getaway!

Dustin had a bye week this last weekend so we wanted to take advantage! We ended up going to Dustin's family's cabin. It was such a nice break from everything! We went Fishing, and I caught my first fish EVER. Depressing I know. We also made a trip up to Yellowstone Park. We also managed to beat Donkey Kong on Super Nintendo in 3 hours...Impressive I know.

He intercepted the ball and ran back and scored a 100 yd. touchdown!!! I was so sad I missed it but so excited for him. 10-10-10

Confession: I get on Twitter

Confesson: I am an obsessive/dedicated watcher of the Bachelorette/Bachelor

Confession: I follow Kiptyn from the Bachelorette on Twitter

The point? I read on his twitter about his 10 for 10 campaign. What it is, is for 10 days do 10 positive acts, one each day.

I shouldn't have to read something like this to want to do at least ONE positive act a day, but I get so caught up in my life that I often don't think about it and probably don't make the effort. SO I am challenging myself to do something positive everyday, big or small. and I wanted to post in case anyone else wants to join in.

So for day #1. I made my husband dinner (I should do that anyways) BUT....thats mine for today.

headache!!!!!

Well...after 1238901238903 complications of trying to add pictures, screw it. I might attempt to try adding them later today, until then, you get words. We cant believe summer is coming to an end!! Fall is always so busy for us but so much fun. Dustin is in football camp and has been for the last week and a half and will be done on Saturday! I'm so excited to have my husband back and I am excited to watch him play another season of football. We had a really great summer. We were able to go to Redfish this summer, which we were thrilled about because we weren't able to go last year!

We also had a crazy August 7th this year! My brothers birthday, my grandma and grandpa C's wedding anniversary party, and my mother in laws birthday!! We went to my grandparents party and then headed up to Idaho Falls for the surprise party we threw for Dustin's mom. It was so much fun! We are so lucky to have all of these individuals in our lives and lucky to share these special days with them!

Secrets out of the bag...Dustin found his surprise. I was going to surprise him with tickets to a 49ers game....and he found out. I was going to wrap up both the plane and game tickets for his Christmas present BUT oh well!! We are going to go down to San FRAN for New years eve and spend some time there and then they play the Cardinals on the 2nd of January so we are excited!!

Last but not least, we have some very close friends to recently lost their little baby boy. They are dealing with it so great. Their testimonies of the plan of salvation has strengthened mine so much! They are really great examples. Please keep them in your prayers!

"One year plus a day"

According to Dustin--TECHNICALLY Birthdays and Anniversaries are celebrated after a year plus one day. Everytime I would say things like " I can't believe we've been married a year", he would respond with "plus a day!" Anyways-- We have been married a year. period.

We decided to just take a quick trip down to Salt Lake and stay the night- We ate at the Maddox (AMAZING) and then went to Spoon Me in SLC for some dessert and ended at the hotel! Our original plan was to go skydiving but it rained all day--which I have to admit I wasn't exactly dissapointed. I am scared out of my mind to go. Anyways we just ended up doing some shopping and we hit up the Hogle Zoo. (Oh and did I mention I forgot my camera--so just imagine what you would have seen if we did take pictures). After going to the zoo, I can still conclude that I hate snakes. We then just headed home and Dustin got to take a Physics final :) It was SOO good to get away even just for a night and we needed it! I'm so grateful to have Dustin in my life! There is never a dull moment and I love it. He is the most motivated person I have ever met and he makes me proud daily. Heres to 2389023849024 more years together! Now bring on the sun!

Well...I am pretty much done with this weather. On memorial day, we were determined to go boating regardless of what mother nature had in mind. So....we went boating!!!.....in the rain. haha It was actually nice to get out on the boat even though it was freezing! Anyways...I have been DREAMING of going to Havasupai Falls for the longest time and this cold weather is making me long to be there. Who wants to join!?

Friday, April 9, 2010

Well....It is spring time and I cannot wait for summer!! This semester has been the longest of my life!! Dustin is now in spring football and I'm remembering why I hate football :) ANYWAYS I have just been feeling like I need some uplifting in my midst! This quote by Audrey Hepburn just did it for me...

for attractive lips, speak words of kindness. for lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. for a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. for beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day. for poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone. people, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed and redeemed; never throw out anyone. remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. as you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.
-Audrey Hepburn

Do we not always hear that the best way to make yourself happier is by helping others?? I love how this quote focuses on the things that really matter and not the worldly things! Anyways, just loved this quote and wanted to share it ( if anyone even reads this).
HAPPY soon summer!

February!

Image
Well its been a few months so I figure I can update now! We spent an amazing Christmas with the Tew's up in Idaho Falls! It was so much fun, we had to end the trip soon because Dustin had to come back for work! We are now both back in school which is MISERABLE! We are both so busy with school and cannot WAIT to be done someday! We bought passes at Targhee and try to go up every weekend! Its a nice break from school! Dustin is busy with football, Nursing program and work! I dont know how he does it! That's pretty much it!
