2011 IS OUR YEAR

It's been a long time since we've posted anything here and here is the synopsis:
1. I completed my PGY2 ID residency at UNC :)
2. Aaron was accepted to Butler University Communications Dept - Major Media Arts
3. I took a job at University of Louisville Health Care in Louisville, KY
4. We have been commuting from Columbus to Indy and Louisville for almost 9 months :(
5. I accepted a new position as an HIV pharmacist in Indianapolis and we are moving to INDY!
6. Aaron has thrived at Butler and loves his classes, he did an internship at WebStream Productions as a Motion Graphics Artist and even had one of his projects aired on ESPN!!! (also as a side note Shel Mack is in some of his classes).
7. I became an Aunt and Aaron became an uncle (again) with the birth of my brother's daughter Malana.
8. Mogley is as mischievous as ever, but we are hoping to find a house with a fenced back yard so he can get his energy out.

OK so a lot has gone on and I just scratched the surface, but 2011 is off to a great start and we are excited to find out what else is in store for us!

We finally went to a UNC baseball game. It was a lot of fun, the destroyed the other team, who is not even worth mentioning it was such a beating.

Mogley Exausted!

We took mogley on a long walk and when we got home, he wouldn't stop huffing and puffing... then he just dropped and stretched completely out in front of his water bowl...it gave us a little scare, but he was alright..


In these last two pics, you can see that we gave him a little cold bath to help cool him off haha.. He's the greatest pup ever!

Triple Chocolate Bliss Cake

If you have a sweet-tooth, you've def got to try this one.
1 pkg. chocolate cake mix
1 cup of sour cream
1 pkg (3.9 oz) chocolate jello
4 eggs
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup water
3 cups thawed cool whip (divided)
1 pkg Baker's Semi Sweet Chocolate (8 squares)
1 1/2 cups fresh raspberries

HEAT oven to 350 deg
BEAT all ingredients except Cool Whip, chocolate square and berries in large bowl.
POUR into greased 12-cup fluted tube pan or 10 inch tube pan
BAKE 50 mins - 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean, let cake cool for 10 mins, loosen sides and invert onto wire rack, cool completely, put onto plate.
RESERVE 2 TBSP of CoolWhip(some type of artsy stuff for the top, I tried it but it looked stupid. haha... MICROWAVE remaining CoolWhip and chocolate squares on high for 2 mins... pull out each min and stir... drizzle on cake... put berries in middle. The End.

Sherlock Holmes

We bought the Sherlock Holmes DVD this week. Such a good movie. Lisa likes to watch lots of movies back to back, which I just can't do, but I actually made an exception to this one. Lots good editing, clever writing and witty acting done throughout the movie. If you haven't seen it, don't bother renting, just go ahead and buy it. No regrets. :)

OREO CAKE

We are experimenting some new recipes. After a couple failed desserts, we found one worth posting about:

1 pkg (2-layer size) devil's food chocolate cake mix

4 squares Baker's Semi-Sweet Chocolate

1/4 cup(1/2 stick) butter

1 pkg (8-0z) Philadelphia Cream Cheese, softened

1/2 cup sugar

2 cups thawed Cool Whip

12 Oreo cookies, coarsely crushed

Heat: oven to 350 degrees

Prepare cake batter and bake in 2 (9-inch) round as directed on cake mix package. Cool cakes in pans 10 min. Invert cakes onto wire racks; gently remove pans Cool cakes completely.

Microwave chocolate and butter in microwavable bowl on HIGH 2 min or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Cool 5 min.

Meanwhile, beat cream cheese and sugar in large bowl with mixer until blended. Gently stir in Cool Whip and crushed cookies. Stack cake layers on plate, spreading cream cheese mixture between layers. Spread top with chocolate glaze; let stand until firm. Keep refrigerated.

Easter Already?

I'm not sure exactly what was going on inside our minds.. maybe we were eyeing the easter candy a little too much at the store... but thinking easter was on the 28th, we got each other baskets and couldn't even wait until then to open them. Later that day, we realized that Easter was the following week. (Should've picked that up when the Easter sales at the store went until the following week...) haha

Valentines Day!!!

Of all of the cards in all of the stores... we got each other the same one. Happy Valentine's Day!

SUPER BOWL SUNDAY!!!!

GO COLTS!!!!!! We went back to Indiana to cheer on our team for the Super Bowl woot woot! Thank you mom for all the goodies! :)

Playing in the Park

Both Aaron and I had the weekend off (which never happens anymore). We went to Elmo's for breakfast in Carbarro and then took Mogley to the Village Green to play. Of course we had to leave him on the leash, because when we take him off the leash he likes to make a run for it ;) We relaxed on our homemade blanket from Wendy, threw a frisbee, and chased Mogley!! All in all it was great day with my family!

I got home and he had been eating his food bowl. (Actually our salsa dish that was replacing his food bowl which he had used for a potty the day before.) He knows when he's in trouble.

Las Vegas

I finally got to visit LAS VEGAS! We went out for one of Lisa's conferences, which also fell on my b-day weekend so I came out to celebrate. We met up with friends and family, I also got to see Metallica in concert along with the sites! :)
