hair cut
Ryan FINALLY agreed that Gavin needed his hair cut. Just shaped it up and trimmed around the ears, but doesn't it look so much better? Here he is in his handsome church duds.
halloween
Gavin got to dress up twice for Halloween. He was a Zombie with Mommy for a Halloween party, and then he was dressed up as his dad for the ward trunk or treat. What a handsome little guy.
pumpkin patch
We took Gavin to the pumpkin patch a few weeks ago. He liked the pumpkins, but was way more interested in the tractors, running in the mud, and running in the haystack maze. He did pick out the cutest little pumpkin to carve.

double soo soo and long hair
Ryan and I have differening opinions on how long Gavin's hair should be. I would like to cut it, but Ryan wants to let it grow. This is my attemp to show Ryan that this little BOY really needs a haircut!
bacon
Ryan made bacon...from a pig. He cut it out of the pig, cured it, and smoked it. And now it's in my freezer. And there's more coming. Actually looks like bacon, eh? Good job.
this is us
We went to the Mariners' game on Friday (they lost - bad). It was fan appreciation night and so they had lots of booths with free things. This is what we decided to do before the game started. Does it look like us? I think Ryan actually looks like Ryan. Pretty good for the the 30 seconds it took the guy to draw it!

dinosaur
This was supposed to be a Christmas present, but Ryan was too excited. By the time I found the camera, the excitement had worn off, but Gavin was really happy when he saw his new dinosaur. He's a little hesitant to sit on it, but loves the (weird) songs it plays and likes to give his teddy bear rides on it, pushing it all around the living room and kitchen.

cars
Gavin LOVES cars. His cars, trucks, and tractors are his favorite things to play with. He plays with them upstairs, downstairs, on the stairs … in his room, in my room, in the bathroom … under the table, and yes, even in drawers. He loves cars.

a warm day
Gavin got a little swimming pool from Grandma. He LOVES it, and calls it his "car bath" (only he doesn't say the c in car or the th in bath.) He has so much fun outside in our tiny backyard. He loves the water, throwing rocks, and picking and eating things from the garden. Hours of fun!

Gavin can walk! But he only walks when he thinks no one is watching, or when his hands are too full for him to crawl. I only caught him on video because he got into the tin foil. Little turkey!
(The baby noises are a little boy that I watch...Gavin is saying "woo woo" into the foil tube if you listen closely.)

one year old boy
I can hardly believe we’ve had this little boy in our family for a whole year! It’s gone by so fast…and he’s grown so much and learned so much in these past 12 months. He’s the sweetest, most handsome, little one-year-old I’ve ever seen!
We had a little birthday party for Gavin on Saturday (the day after his birthday) and had the Dahles and McGoverns over for supper and cake. Ryan made supper and I made the cake. Nothing fancy, but I think Gavin loved it all anyways!
After the birthday party, Ryan and I took Gavin to a minor league hockey game. It seemed like he really had fun, watching the game, smiling at all the people around us, dancing to the music, and eating the food.
What a fun day together.

sharing
Gavin is good at sharing...He loves to feed other people. He often sticks his hands into my plate, or Ryan's plate so that he can "help" us eat our supper.
He loves his big cousin, and shared all his animal crackers with her.
went to the zoo
We went to the zoo with some friends, and Gavin loved it! It was the perfect day - nice and warm. Everything he saw was a new "wow." He even roared at the lions.
