Because Jen is so pregnant, we aren't doing a big trip this summer. Instead, we are exploring what local attractions, like the Thomas day we visited in Southern Mass. It wasn't Disneyland, but G loved the trains and the rides he could do himself. He also picked up an actual train conductor cap, so we have another piece added to the collection.

Happy Summer!

Every year since Graham was a baby we've participated in our neighborhood egg hunt. Our street is brim-filled with kids, and it's awesome to watch them all grow, and grow, and grow. This year was the first time our own boy got competitive about the whole enterprise; he was quick out at the gate and found his 12 eggs within a few minutes. Afterwards, we hung out with Una and her parents, playing baseball. It's also the first year when we've had real springtime weather; last year we had our winter coats on. This time we wore t-shirts. It was a lovely day.

Baseball, via Chuck.

Graham is a kid with a very, very active imagination. He is definitely the guy equivalent of those little girls you see out at the grocery store in full princess get up. He went through a construction worker phase, a police man phase, a fireman phase, a pirate phase.

Then he met Charlie Brown, via YouTube. He loves Peanuts cartoons. And that led to baseball. We play a lot of baseball in our house these days. His uncle, Travis, bought him a glove for his birthday. He already has many baseball caps. We then bought him a bat and ball, which has led to some cold winter days spent playing indoor baseball. This is made even more interesting since his handedness still hasn't settled. He does everything with both hands, but seems more likely to bat left and throw right.

Today it was just warm enough to go across the street to the baseball field at the high school. He was thrilled. Now, the proportions of a real-life diamond are not working for him yet, but he ran so much and so enthusiastically that he ASKED for a nap for the first time in his life, and then slept three hours.

I forget how much nicer life is when we can get outside. I'm also wondering whether they might shoot up newborns in Boston  with some sort of baseball loving drug. At least we are in the right place for a kid who loves the sport.

We just got back from our trip to SLC. We are travel worn, but did not have a delayed flight (as many flying to the East Coast did yesterday). It was all definitely worth it, since Graham got to spend lots of time with this Grandpa, his Uncle Kyle, and his cousins, Abbie and Oaklee. I hope to do a couple of posts more in the next few days with more pictures!
