Everything's bigger in Texas

Image

This bird was scary. It kept walking slowly in front of us as we were trying to get by. It wouldn't fly it would slowly turn its head back toward us and stare, then go on a few feet at a time in front of us.

This was the first alligator that we saw.Oh by the way the pictures of the alligators were taken in a state park there.

I loved these big oak trees. See the park bench? We found a souvenir alligator on it. We were a little freaked out about just seeing some alligators so we thought maybe it was a real baby one. It had a piece of tape on it and it really did look fake, but none of us wanted to touch it to find out if it really was fake. Clarissa found a stick and poked it. Then we laughed at house stupid we were for being afraid.

I liked the way this turtle looked with the algae stuff on it. The turtles were all over in the water.

We were only a few feet away from this alligator. It was pretty cool. I wasn't even afraid. It was just sunning and really didn't care about people. There was a guy and a girl that had just walked past him ahead of us. He would open and close his eyes at you but that was about it. Clarissa was afraid. (just had to put that in)

It was neat how much wildlife was at this park. Tons of cool birds that I had not seen before like this one. It really did sound jungle like with all of the animal sounds around.

I was excited to get such a good picture of him. He even posed for me.

Clarissa's baby bump on the beach. We went to Galveston to see the Gulf of Mexico. Definitely different than the Pacific ocean. Look at the waves. They were puny.

I thought it was funny. The birds were riding the waves. That is how little they were.(the waves)

While we were in Galveston we went on a dolphin seeing boat on the harbor. I was proud of myself because I am not a big fan of boats. At least not smaller ones. It was cool to see the dolphins so close up. I had seen them before at the beach, but never that close. I also like the idea that they swim in pairs and mate for life.

My mom and I went Houston to visit Clarissa back in January. I have been meaning to post these forever. Sorry Clarissa that it has taken so long.

I know, I know...

So It's been a long time since I have done anything with this blog. As you all know Will was born 7 months ago. Getting a new routine has been hard especially with the holidays mixed in. I know that was a while ago and now I feel our normal boring routine is finally coming back. I love it. I finally weened the kids from too much T.V. watching. It is so easy for me to use it as a babysitter, especially after a new baby. After a good discussion with Dan we came up with a coupon system for them. It is still a work in progress, but it has helped a ton. The first week was tough (for me not them) I kept thinking, stop bothering me when I am trying to do things, but I couldn't let them watch. By Friday they actually went in the backyard all by themselves without me coaxing them or anything. Yay! For any of you that don't know I am always telling my kids to go play outside and they always have some excuse as to why they shouldn't. So we are at the end of the second week and I haven't had any of them cry because they can't watch a show. They play more together and look for other ways to have fun. It has also given me more chance to play and teach them, and they do work for me.

Hank has been waking up way too early lately. Anyone know how to stop that? This morning I woke up and heard him playing with the baby. I didn't get up because they seemed to be getting along well. I kept hearing a banging noise and I thought Hank must have his play hammer. I started to think I should get the baby, just in case they get into a fight, I don't want him to hit Will with it. I go in and Hank has the lotion and is banging it to get it out and had it everywhere on Will. Of course when Will saw me he started to cry. I don't know why he wasn't crying sooner. It was everywhere on him. In his eyes and on his clothes in his bed. It is kind of funny how Will does that. He is fine until he sees me. Go figure.
Well I do have pictures and I keep promising to put them up. Stay tuned for that.

Giddy up Cowboy!

If you haven't noticed, Hank loves to ham it up these days. If you tell him to smile, this is what you get. It makes me laugh every time he does it.

William Rodney

I know it is about time I got pics of the new little guy up. Today he is 4 weeks old I can't believe how fast it goes. The last two pics with him in the red shorts were taken yesterday. People have actually told me he looks like me! It is usually people saying "Oh they look just like their dad". Will was 7 lbs 14 oz and 20 inches long. At his 3 day appointment he weighed 7 lb 8 oz. and 20 1/4 inches. I was amazed he didn't lose more. I went to his 2 week check-up and they told me he was now 8lbs 9 oz and 22 inches long. I could not believe he had grown so fast. Anyway, it will be interesting to see if he continues at this pace or slows down a little.
