Lilypie Second Birthday tickers

Uh oh!

Cole got his second major boo boo today. His first was his burned foot...remember!?! The child is seriously accident prone...if there is a way to get a scrape, bruise, bump or anything else, he WILL find it!

Image

He stayed with Mimi and Pappy today while I was photographing the dance photos. Cole's "new thing" is to get in your chair as soon as you get up. He thinks it's hilarious when you walk back into the room and say "did you get my chair?"...he cracks up laughing. Well today he got Pappy's chair when Pappy walked into the kitchen. The problem is that Pappy's recliner spins.....so, it spun Cole right into the side table! They said that he never cried but it was scary because of all the blood. Thankfully Uncle Alan looked at it and told them what to do. Dal met his parents at Children's off Acton Rd, where the Dr. looked at the cut and decided to glue it.

Throughout it all, Cole hasn't cried once. He's a tough little booger! We just have to keep him from "tamed" for the next few days so if you have any suggestions on how to keep a toddler boy "tamed", please give them to me!! Thankfully I didn't know anything had happened until it was all over...whew!!!

Thanks Mimi and Pappy for taking care of our "little accident waiting to happen!!"

Easter 2010

We had a great Easter! Of course I, like all Christians, LOVE LOVE LOVE Easter Day church service. What's better than hearing about how our Savior being risen from the dead for you and me!! We were so blessed that both my and Dal's parents joined us at our church for Easter too!

We saw lots of family on Easter too, which was AWESOME :)

The day started out with Cole's Easter basket...we figured this would be the last year we could get away with NOT giving candy so we took full advantage of it and filled his Easter basket with lots of books, puzzles, balls, and only a little bit of chocolate :)Image
These days, Cole is VERY in to Diego (or "Day-Doe" as he says)Image

The only picture I edited was this of Dal and me...it's one of our better photos together and I've decided it's frame worthy :)Image
Opening up his basket from Nana & Papaw...look at my little guy sporting his Easter best...I love it!Image
After lunch at Grandmom and Granddad's Ellis' house, we had another egg hunt....they have a GREAT backyard for egg hunts!Image
A bit spoiled by Nana & Papaw :)Image
Then we headed to see Grandmother Davis. She just loved and kissed on Cole sooo much! Cole even did a little dance for some of the women in the nursing home too...they all got a kick out of watching him. Grandmother Davis said that he got his moves from her :)Image
We ended the day by going to Mimi & Pappy's house for dinner and yet, another egg hunt! Cole was NOT a fan of that blow up bunny in their front yard...in fact, he was down right scared to death of it!Image

Merry Christmas....in February!

Image

I wanted to catch up on everything since Christmas, so here's the quick version. If you didn't receive the Christmas card (pictured left) from us...well it's because I never got around to sending them out! I still have all 75 cards sitting here in my office :(. However, we had a GREAT Christmas...got to see LOTS of family and Cole had a blast opening presents. Dal, Jill, & I volunteered at the Salvation Army this year, which I hope becomes tradition for us :) Spending so much time with family and remembering Jesus's birth is definitely something to celebrate! Here's a few pictures from Christmas below...

The "Hinton" clan (my mom's side of family)

Cole LOVES flags so when Uncle Brent gave him this Alabama flag, Cole was sooo proud of it! He still carries his flag around to this day :)

Image

My parents got Cole "The Happy Car" for Christmas...it is soooo cool! It is remote controlled so WE can control where Cole goes, when he stops, turns, etc...it has a switch for him to control it with the pedals and steering wheel for when he is older but right now, he just runs into the walls when he is in control of the car!
Dal's parents got Cole his very own recliner! Somehow I didn't get a picture of it but he absolutely LOVES it. Every morning, I tell him to get in his chair and he hops on in it with his milk and cheerios and watches an episode of the Backyardigans!

ImageAfter Christmas, Dal, Cole and I took a trip up to Nashville. It was WONDERFUL!!! We stayed Imageat the Opryland Hotel, saw the Rockettes, went to Charlie Brown ICE (where it was 6 degrees!) and ate a Aquarium...a really neat restaurant. I hope this becomes a yearly tradition for us!!!

January 2010....I'd rather forget about this month because it seemed like we were all sick all the time! We did have a great New Years though!

ImageSo ImageImageJames Spann predicted snow today and boy was he right...it is actually still falling as I type! Cole loved it and didn't like it one bit when we told him it was time to come inside...as you can see from one of the pictures!

Remember us??

Wow...ok so I realize that I'm waaaay behind on posting. It's pretty bad when not only your family gets on to you, but your friends do too! I hope to post pictures dating back to Christmas on here sometime next week.

For now though, I wanted to list Cole's 18 month old stats so I don't forget them! We went to the Dr. a few weeks ago and Cole weighed 25lbs 13oz and was 33 inches long. This put him in the 50th % for weight and 75th for height! He is growing and changing soooo much every day!

He can say lots of words now...and two phrases "I want that" and "What's that?". Recently he has been calling his daddy by his first name. I guess he hears me saying "Dal" and it sounds so much like "Da" so he just calls him what he hears me say! We're working on correcting that!

He also has used the potty a few times too! He poo pooed three times and tee tee once! We're not pushing him but he seems to be catching on the potty training thing pretty well.

We also bought him a ball, tee and bat recently. I will have to post a picture of him hitting off his tee....I was pretty impressed how quickly he picked up on hitting the ball off the tee too!

He is still into the Backyardigans sooo much...it's hilarious to hear him try to say "Backyardigans".

I hope to take his 18 month pictures before he turns 19 months old :)

Stay tuned for pictures very soon!

A new visitor.....

ImageCole's elf finally showed up on our front porch tonight! And he arrived in true redneck style.....on a Monster Truck!!! I thought he was supposed to arrive on Thanksgiving but now that I see he was traveling from the North Pole on a Monster Truck, I understand his delayed arrival :) Although I think Santa realizes that Cole is too young to really understand how his magical elf works, he wanted him to have one this year so that we can document it and look back on in the future.Image

Since Cole isn't quite old enough to name his elf, we are simply calling him "elf" this year...how original huh! Although I must say, after seeing his vehicle of choice for is first appearance, I'm tempted to name him Cousin Eddie :) "Elf" even brought along an activity book with all sorts of fun things for Cole to do over the next month...how cool!!!

ImageWe have been on the go nonstop over the past couple of months. The house is decorated for Christmas and I will try to post pictures of it all soon.....the key word is "try" :)
Cole is growing up waaaaay too fast. He knows a few animal sounds like dog and lion and is saying a few more words too! His real talent is spotting flags....yes that is right....the boy can spot an American flag from a mile away and everytime he sees one he yells over and over (very loudly) "DAG"!!!! (which of course is supposed to be "FLAG"!!!) Driving up and down hwy 31 is now much more interesting and I promise you that there are LOTS of flags to be seen on hwy 31 :) I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!! We have sooo much for be thankful for :)

Fall/Halloween pictures

Image
Everyone says "you must have a thousand great pictures of Cole"....uh wrong!!! When I'm behind the camera, I'm still Mom and like many of you, I can't get my child to look at the camera!ImageImage
Image
Thankfully Dal was there to help get his attention too :) Our "session" was rushed but I wanted to share these pics anyway. We also went to Boo at the Zoo and Cole learned a little how to Trick or Treat. Well he knows to hold his bucket out so people can put candy in it Image anywaImageyImages!!

He is supposed to be a cowboy for Halloween. However, I couldn't get him to wear his cowboy hat nor hold his horse for these pictures....so he ended up looking like a farmer instead!! haha!! If I can get the hat and horse in any pictures tomorrow, I'll be sure to post them :)

I hope everyone has a Happy and SAFE Halloween!!!

My brother came into town last weekend. I'm so happy that I was able to get few (not great, but ok) shots of him and Cole together. These pictures were very impromptu but hopefully I can get more great shots when he comes back next month :)
