Spring break, dental school style, sharing a big beach mansion with eight other couples in the off-season. Because we're cheap and we're like family. It was a great trip. Before the weather turned sour we got one good day in at the beach. The kids loved flying kites, especially Preston. He beamed the whole time. The beach is the perfect place for families. Two highlights for the adults, one we took turns cooking so we only cooked once and reaped the rewards of others great skills, secondly when the kids went to bed the adults played games and ate lots of junkfood. I wasn't the party animal being pregnant and all, but I did stay up later than normal. We went to an aquarium on a cold day. All the kids loved being together. The shark tank was a hit. Thanks everyone for all the memories. Nobles thanks for all the planning.
Being pregnant and trying to make a snowman is not a easy task. That much bending and lifting wiped me out. We made our male snowman and Pres knocked it over, Claire cried so we made the female, but she wasn't satisfied til we had them both up and running again. One of my friends came over with her kids and started poking at the snowman, I thought if they knock over before the day is done I'll cry. I don't know why, but the kid in me was so proud to show David my work. This time I out smarted the mittens and wrapped plastic bags and tape around them. It worked great. The stores were out of real gloves. Thanks to a neighbor our kids got to do a little sledding. Fearless Claire blazed down the hill in delight and then would run back up the hill and jump in the sled for more. Preston waited for me to hold the sled until he had his bearings and then he would giggle frieghtfuly. He's just like his daddy.
Snow is a big deal in Virginia. The good news is they cancelled school for David, sure he had to spend some of it studying, but having him there to play in the snow with the kids was sweet. I desperately tried to make them a snowman, but the snow was powder, David let me in on the secret that you have to wait till it melts a little. My Idaho man sure comes in handy. I went through the house rounding anything up I could find for the snow. Not much luck. The kids only had their mittens and those got soaked after a few minutes. Hence the funny pictures of them acting like they were going to die from being cold. We came in and I got the blow dryer out, David said I was a genius. Wow what a compliment for a mom trying to take care of her crying children. I love snow every once in a while. David says I'd like it everyday if I tried to have that perspective, nice try.
