Boaring!

Image
I wish I wasn't busy right now but alas I am. I also wish I could write a good blog today but I've been feeling really air-headed as of late which could be a good explanation as to why things haven't been going as planned at all. So for those of you who know what I'm talking about... I'm sorry.
Tom and I were up on BYU campus last night so Tom could work on our video and so I could work on my paper. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErAp0XAQsrE"> <-- there is the link to the video if you want to see it in all of its glory.
Sorry that this weeks entry is so short!!!
keep in touch why don't ya?

shhhh I'm in the library!

Howdy,
Image

Have you ever noticed how sneezing in the library is about 50 db's louder than anywhere else???

Anyway, Tom and I are just at the BYU library working on our papers. Luckily he reminded me that it was Tuesday and I still needed to do my blog! I almost forgot because Carrie and Jeff are on there spring break in California which means that I don't have work either!<--(British accent please)It really worked out very well since I need to work on several final projects including and not limited to: My final research paper for my English class, My guitar final, and my Physics Mid-term #2.

Now to be honest I should still be working on my paper, but I figured that this would be a productive way to take a little break from the horrors of the real world. Nothing like blogtopia to save the day, the place where I and I alone am perfect excluding but not limiting: Spelling errors, made up words, or lame events that I take for cool.

moving on.

General conference this last weekend was amazing I probably only slept through one hour total of the whole thing. We were able to attend the Saturday morning session without having tickets prior to the showing up there. We were fortunate enough to run into a man who was literally holding a brick of tickets, he made the morning a whole lot less stressful. We were probably 10 rows from the tip-pity top but none the less the spirit was felt and I believe joy was had by all.

Possibly one the best moments of the weekend was seeing my new nephew Evan Lloyd, man is he stinkin' cute. I don't recall holding any of my nieces or nephews as much when they were babies. I just wanted to hold that kid in my arms, now if he only lived closer. Okay, i'll stop venting about not being able to see him...

Those were a few high-lites of my week, thanks for reading!

Everything you always wanted to know about songwriting

Gruezi,

I can't believe the semester is already 'bout to end. Its almost like it never happened... but alas it did. Anyway, I don't really have a ton of updates although, I'm super excited for conference I can't believe it's already been 6 months since the last one. I'm pretty sure we're going to go and wait inline for the extra tickets to watch the Saturday morning session.
You're also dieing to know how my research is going on "how to write a hit song?". Well I'll tell you: Image
That pretty much says it all. I'm reading this book from 1991 to get advice about how to write good music in 2010??? I'm really starting to doubt this man's skill.
Image
I mean honestly he has several pages wherein his friend brag about him, now is that even legal? Because I'm pretty sure that is cheating on your own book. Just sayin'...

On a lighter note as mentioned last week, Tom and I are playing on Friday night at Yozone. We've been asked to play an hour and I was thinking there would be a good chance that I would need a bathroom break somewhere in between the beginning and the end, oh well I guess. Another random goodness happened as well. Tom decided one to day search on the internet for someone who would do free mastering and believe it or not he did and the guy is good. Igor lives back east but we're pretty sure he's from eastern Europe somewhere anyway, long story short the songs sound even better than before. We are currently in the process of trying to figure out what to do with them.

Blogger 9000

Image
Hi,
So I have been blogging for a few weeks straight now and I can honestly say it has become easier to blog. Practice makes normal, as I always say.
Spring break was successful in that I did what I said I going to do. It wasn't any bam, "I went to a different state" or "I went some place to go boating" or "Look at me I'm going to the moon" kind of spring break. Instead, it was simple and laid back just like I needed.
Atl Atl has a few up coming events, for example:
1. Thursday 25th in Logan @ club whysound.
2. Friday lights double header night:
a. Ward Talent show
b. A charity
3. Friday April 2nd at Yozone in provo.
Isn't that awesome?! It's about time we start playing more shows. Also on that note the birthday present Tom and Taylor got me came in the mail yesterday. It's a genuine J-Bass pick-guard for the new bass. It's really good looking and I will try to take pictures of it one of these days.
Yesterday I was informed by my English professor that I am going to do yet another research project. I have a few ideas floating around my head but the one that sounds the most interesting/funny is, "How do you write a popular song?" I'm going to need 5 sources and all of them need to be from a different viewpoint, e.g. "Thats impossible" or "It's easy." Anyway, shoot me some web sites or ideas if you want to.
Okay loyal blog followers keep your chins high and keep your eyes on the prize.

Urban Spring BREAK Dancing

Guten Tag!
I think the most important thing to announce this week is the the arrival of the new baby boy to Dana and Pete. This is your official Blog shout out from your brother. Evan Lloyd Gallant was born on march 10th 2010. I still haven't seen the little bugger yet but when I do I'll love the heck out of him.
Another spot of good news, Chat Turner (aka trouble maker turner) got engaged last night. Kathy, Tom, and I all helped in the process. It was a magical moment and we got to rain rose peddles on their heads from the top of a building.
Yesterday was also our ward FHE saint patty's day party. It turned out to be really successful and we had a Irish poem contest. Our groups went a little something like this;
I once tried to grow a neard ( neck beard )
I thought it would make me feared
It got long and red all over my head
and the people thought I looked weird

yes, I thought that i turned off the video and then... I didn't. So I turned it off.

This week is also my Spring break!!!
Which means:
1. Normal Work
2. Research paper
3. Possible sleeping in
4. Band practice

Wait a minute this doesn't sound special or different at all. I don't have school but I still have a huge research paper due? hmmmm, curse you paper which confines me to this blasted computer!

Anyway, um I'm going to sale my plasma today for the first time. I finally realized that I wasn't going to have enough money to make it through the semester. That meant it was time to get salin' plasma that is! It was quite a little process I had to go through to get to this point. I'm not sure how stoked I am, but Tim told me if I drink lots of water then it will go fast and I've been doing just that. He also told me about this dope coupon for first time goers!

isn't that just nifty?

okay, I think it's nap time...

Harmfulless

Image
Hello all!
The birthday event was successful and fun was had! I slept in and missed my physics class and then my environmental management class was cancelled so I really only had to go to English and institute. March 3rd was also shared with mens appreciation day at the institute building thus providing me with free lunch! What are the chances? Tom made a wicked good pie also known as "Dallin's Pie" it was very tasty and it had a Shepardy feel to it, but what do I know?
After dinner Bethany busted out the decorations and our cramped little living room opened to a hall fit for a king! We spent the evening together playing games and laughing.
The results are in from mid-terms and let's just say I did alright... okay, I'll tell you... I did really bad on physics, like going cliff diving and you forgot that it's winter, bad. Although from this experience I've decided to care more and to try harder! I did however get A's on both guitar and environmental management! English doesn't really have a mid-term but I'm doing well in that class anyway.
Well enough with school!
Frodo Bloggins and I have been digging away at new tunes. It's coming along quite nicely I would say. The three newest/done songs are called; "Reckless", "just like a shadow", and "Brutality". They're an expression of our newer sound. We'll be playing these songs and others this coming March 19th at club Whysound in Logan.
Anywho! I think that wraps up a good week!

P.S. I saw Alice in Wonderland and it's the bomb and should be seen by everyone.

Zilch

Image
I started playing this game today called Zilch. It's pretty addicting and fun! http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/1Ydryw/zilch.playr.co.uk/zilch.local.php go and hit it up! Anyway, preparing for mid-terms/doing mid-terms hasn't been all that fun. I know that sounds so obvious but it is. Anyway on a lighter note, it's my birthday this week! The big ol' 22 or as Tom would say the double deuce. My parents went waaaaay toooo big and got me a new bass. It's a lovely work of art though. The bass which isn't named yet, was very needed though. I'll be playing bass now in the band Atl Atl which required that I buy a bass. The only problem was I didn't have any money to spend! I love my parents they have saved me time and time again. They are the best parents!!! Anyway with the new bass in hand we are going to be prepared for the 19th show up in logan at whysound. The new sound that we've obtained is really similar to the one we had it's just more from less.
Since Tim's birthday was last week, he took the time to find all of the loop holes in the "free birthday stuff". I too have followed his footsteps and have found a many glories things.
1. Free hamburger at Red Robin
2. Free hamburger at Fuddruckers
3. Free ice cream at cold stones
and many more... if I feel like signing up for more e-clubs.
Lets see I know that I've done more than what I've just written about but I did just wake up from a nap which is never a good time to blog about the past and future.
alrighty then...
