Halloween Festivities

The day before Halloween Dan and I took our girls over to Cornbelly's. They were so excited to go, but once we got there things started out a little rough. Kaitlyn got stuck up in the attic of this cute little house
Image

So after about 30 minutes of trying to coach her out of it, Dan finally went in to go fish her out.

While Kaitlyn was stuck in the house...Makenzie decided that she was afraid of the princess bounce house. Seriously!!! What is wrong with my kids?!?!!
Image
Finally we found something that these two drama queens were happy about...The princess carriage.
Image
Well that only lasted a few minutes until we took them to the dragon. Kaitlyn told Dan that she wasn't going to be afraid, but I think her expression tells us otherwise. Despite her initial fear she went in (Makenzie wouldn't even go any where near the thing).

And she came out HAPPY!

Heidi was so good the entire time...she was perfectly content just chilling in the bjorn. She especially LOVED the hay ride! Every time we went over a bump she would just crack up.

Football

Image
It may not be news to most of you, but Dan is a huge BYU fan. Every year he buys season tickets to the football games. Well this year I was unable to get a babysitter for one of the games, so he decided to take Kaitlyn along. She had such a fun time cheering on the Cougs, and eating a cougar tail. And Dan enjoyed spending some quality time with his little girl, teaching her how to cheer on the Cougars, and sing the fight song. Although I think he might prefer taking me to the games since I don't ask him every 5 minutes if the game is over yet.

Mountains

Image

We have lived in Utah for about 7 years, and had never driven the Alpine loop. So we decided that it was time to finally do it before the snow comes and all of the beautiful fall colors are gone.
Toward the beginning of the drive we pulled over and walked around the little trail.
Our girls loved looking at all of the different colors and Kaitlyn kept asking us which colors we fall colors. She was a little sad when pink didn't make the list but once she saw some of the pretty red leaves she was pretty excited.

Image

Makenzie just loved looking at and picking up the leaves.
Image
And Heidi was just curious why nobody wiped the squash out of her nose.

Image

We're glad we finally were able to drive through the mountains and really enjoy the beautiful fall colors. Not that any of my pictures do it justice

First Day Of School

Image
Kaitlyn started Kindergarten this year! How in the world did she grow up so stinkin' fast? She was so excited to go to school. She goes to the new school in our neighborhood, Traverse Mountain Elementary, and her teacher is Mrs. Story. I asked her to pose for a picture and she made this pose all by herself...sometimes I wonder where she comes from.
I took her to school and she could hardly contain herself with all of the excitement running through her little body. And it is a little body - I noticed she is at least a head shorter than all of the other kindergartners.
I was being really strong and holding my emotions in really well, until she lined up with her class and I watched her go inside. A few tears may or may not have welled up in my eyes. Seriously what happened to my little baby????
After school I asked her what she did, and her reply was "Mom, you know. You already went to kindergarden!!!" So I decided to ask her what her favorite part was and of course it's recess!

Image
Makenzie also started preschool this year. Well it's a mommy swap preschool where I just rotate with 3 other mom's and we take turns hosting it at our house once a month. Makenzie's first day of school wasn't quite as emotional for me. Mostly because, well, I wasn't there. Dan and I were at Lake Powell, so Katherine was babysitting and got to experience it for me. Needless to say, Makenzie LOVES going to school and loves that she has here own little friends that she can play with. And I LOVE having 2 hours once a week with just me and Heidi

Bounce House

Grandma Liddle had to fly out of Dallas, so instead of leaving Tyler at 3am to take her to the airport, we left the day before and stayed the night at my parents house. Once we got there we decided to wear the kids (all 10 of them) out at a bounce house. When we were there Makenzie realized something...Two Grandmas! She was so excited because she had 2 Grandmas at the same place at the same time...what could be better?

Turning 5

For Kaitlyn's real birthday we were back in Tyler. We had a nice birthday breakfast with Dan, then sent him off to work.
Of course everything had to be Princess and Pink!
Image

Then I let the girls decorate cupcakes while we waited
for Grandma Liddle to get here.
Image

Once Grandma and Joseph got to our apartment we all went and saw
Toy Story 3.

The girls loved the movie. And are so excited that Grandma is here to visit for a few days!
Happy Birthday Kaitlyn!
Now stop growing up so fast

3 months

Image

Heidi is such an awesome baby. Seriously if all babies were guaranteed to be as easy going and perfect as Heidi is I'd have a million babies. She loves her sisters, and she loves to suck her thumb. And I love that her little personality is starting to blossom. We all just love this little munchkin so much.
