Vacation and anniversary!

So this last summer Daniel and I, and 2 other girls in my Nursing Class and thier hubbies...we all decided to take a celebration trip to California because we are finally done with Nursing School. It was a great idea! We did the Disney's "Give a day get a day" so our tickets to disneyland were free.

Well when we first got to Cali, our hotel wasn't ready for us yet so we keft everything in the car and went to the San Diego Zoo...while we were in the Zoo someone decided since our back window was accadently left open they would steal stuff from us! They got Daniel and Heather's full bags, Heather's computer & Wallet, My cash out of my wallet but they left the rest of the stuff, Jessica's movies and cash and her bag with all their toiletries in it. Luckily they failed to take my little bag of temple clothes, Daniel's IPOD that was sitting out on the seat, and our huge envelope of cash for gas! They missed a few other things too but all in all, they took stuff that could be replaced (except the cash) but they didnt take our hope or or vacation! The rest of the night was, you could say, ruined, but we were trying to look on the up side. Heather canceled her cards. Brandon talked to the Police Officer. Heather, Dan, and Jessica all went to Target to replace their missing clothes. The hotels were already paid for. We had enough gas money for the trip plus some. D-land tickets were already reserved. It doesn't cost to get into the Beach or into the San Diego Temple (except we had to wait because Heather's Temple Recommend was stolen..had to call the bishop and verify everything.) So as you can see, we could still have a vacation! Before we went to bed that first night we all got together discussed all this, had a prayer..and the rest of the trip went on like nothing bad had ever happened!

The one pic of Daniel on a ladder is he and my Dad scraping the yucky popcorn off of Ellen & Mark's front room. We decided to repay them for letting us live with them we could take that all off and repaint while they were gone for 2 or 3 weeks. I helped too, I must not have gotten pics of me though. My mom helped too; she came and supervised every once in a while. Caleb, Dan's nephew came down right as we were finishing, so he helped me paint the hallway and doors.

The pics of Connie were taken before she went back into surgery for her back. She had the same congenital problem Daniel did, so she got 2 rods and a few scrws in her lower back. She did great. She was a trooper!

Then there is a pic of me and daniel and we look really white..we were at a brian regan show for our 2 year anniversary! I don't have any other pics of our anniversary but it was SOO fabulous! We went to Tucson to the Brian Regan show, which was so funny! We went shopping too! :) Then when we went to our hotel we upgraded to a suit for only $15 more (might I say, we paid just a little more than that for the hotel room in the first palce because of PRICELINE!) Then I mentioned to the receptionist that it was our anniversary, so she gave us the biggest room and FREE breakfast! It was great! The next morning we went to the "Bodies" exhibit. Dan admitted to me afterwards that he really really didnt want to go to that but since I did he was going to suck it up and try not to barf. Little did he know, he was going to like it! haha I'm not just saying that either..he told me he did. I explained stuff to him and the lady inside explained things too. Ya it's a real human body, but when you get past that it is so amazing to see just how the body works and what it looks like under the skin! The room with the babies in it was pretty sad but man it hit me like a ton of bricks! How in the world can ANYONE agree with abortion once you's seen THAT. These babies at 5 and 6 weeks look just like a normal size baby but they can fit in the palm of your hand. It was amazing to sit and think of God's creations and how everything works just perfectly.

a lot of random stuff

This is Napa, our cat. She is a cuddler. It took me a LONG time to get over all the cat hair, but I've gotten a lot better at ways to prevent it and clean it up. I'm sad to say when we move, I told Dan that the cat cannot come with us. My mom is allergic to cats, and we want her to come visit us! So we need to find a nice home for Napa. If anyone would like her just let me know. She is fixed; an inside/outside cat; and she uses a kitty litter box.

If you look hard at the one picture, our dog likes to jump up on his dog house and put his paws on the fence. I don't know what he's looking at, probably the green grass wishing he had some to lay on. haha

This is Sarge before, right after, and a few weeks after we got him fixed. He did great. I felt really bad for him though because he was just sad and sore looking. But Dan said he had a right to be sad because we de-manned him. Anyways, we got it done on a week when everyone was out of town so afterwards we tied him up front by the door and ept a good eye on him. After a while his stitches started itching, so consequently he started livking himself. He licked himself raw and had huge sores on the inside of both legs. So we took him back to the vet. The vet said he would be fine and they would just scar. He gave him the "collar" and an antibiotic. He had the collar for 2 weeks and had a heck of a time moving with it on. he had to learn how to bend over and eat and even had to take corners wider so he could fit. poor guy. He is great now!

Daniel tried the panoramic view on our camera and took a picture of us girls studying and our great husbands sitting around trying to distract us. We soon after this picture kicked them out of the room. Then they went to the table and started playing cards...we soon joined them playing cards. hehe we all passed Nursing School though so we must have studied very well! :) Then a few of us got together and painted Easter eggs! It was fabulous!

The picture where daniel is in the kiddie pool..notice the tree in the background. He wanted mt to let everyone know that he planted that tree all by hiself and that is it doing fabulous and growing big! I'm so proud of him! :)

One day during summer fun Daniel decided to get a bunch of squirt guns and we all had a huge squirt gun fight. It ended when Daniel got on the roof and shot everyone whith his water guns and balloons and buckets of ICE water!

We got a TEMPLE in our Gila Valley! These pics are from the "practice run though" the night before the real Cultural Celebration. And then THE TEMPLE! This picture is actually on my way to help clean the church and temple on the first day of the open house. MMy gracious Aunt and Uncle took me with their family to help! :) We met President Walker (the general authority over temples) and we sat and talked to him. He even drew me a picture/map of temple square and told me where President Monson's Office is! He was super nice and talkative.

Through out the next like 3 or 4 weeks, I got to help clean the temple 2 more times, I was a "Medical Volunteer" (just in case so if anything happened to anyone while at the temple open house), I was an usher a few times too. I just couldn't stop helping! There was just something about the temple I couldn't get enough of! OH! I went to the temple dedication..I sat in the bigger sealing room and watched the 3rd session of the dedication. It was wonderful and so quiet and peaceful! President Monson, President Holland & President Eyring came down for the dedication. Along with President Walker and a few other church leaders. I'm pretty sure that's who came..its been a few months now so I'm having a hard time remembering. After the dedication we stood outside of the temple and waited for the Prophet and Apostles. My mom got some pictures, and I shook their hands.

I graduated from EAC with my Associates in Applied Science..in other words I am nurse. I took my State test in June or July, I don't remember which one, and I passed it which made me an official Registered Nurse! I have been on the job hunt since, and recently got a job offer in Payson, Arizona on the Medical/Surgical Unit. I accepted the position and will start sometime in October! Sooo scary..i know! Dan is trying to get a job with Napa Corporate in Phoenix but we dont have any prospects for him yet. We are going to move to mesa within the next month and a half to start our lives fresh on our own again. haha

So a whole lot has happened since I last posted in September 2009. Please forgive me Leslie for not keeping all of my fans posted..I will try to be better. This is a "test" post because the last 2 times I have tried to post it hasn't worked..
