Not Good: New Years Day Terrorist Was A Real Estate Agent & Army Veteran‽

Early in the morning, an terrorist by the name of Shamsud Din Jabber, decided to take his truck & ram it into a crowd of civilians while opening fire upon nearby police officers (props for @barbaraj.sobel for keeping us updated about this!).

The FBI confirmed that Jabbar was carrying an ISIS flag in the truck, and authorities have said he was dressed in military gear. The FBI said they also found weapons and a potential IED were located in his vehicle. […]

Local officials said the suspect rammed his car into revelers on Bourbon Street at around 3:15 a.m. Wednesday as the city brimmed with tourists celebrating the new year. They said the suspect shot at first responders as well, while FBI officials said they found an improvised explosive device. (NOLA)

The Daily Mail reported that Jabber served in the United States 🇺🇸 Army, which was allegedly confirmed by Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick.

😳 Israel 🇮🇱 Exterminated Hezbollah’s Entire Senior Leadership

It seems as if Israel 🇮🇱 has finally killed Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah. The terrorist group has fired over 8,000 missiles into Israel 🇮🇱 since October 8th, the day after Hamas killed approximately 1200 Israeli 🇮🇱 citizens celebrating at a music festival.

Israel 🇮🇱 Defense Forces attacked a bunker Hassan Nasrallah (Hezbollah’s Leader) was hiding in underneath a civilian building

Nasrallah’s death would indicate that the entire senior leadership of Hezbollah has been eliminated, a feat that was achieved within weeks (if not days) of Israel 🇮🇱 attempting to destroy Hezbollah’s leadership structure in Lebanon 🇱🇧.

With Hezbollah in disarray, world leaders are now wondering if Israel 🇮🇱 will send troops into Lebanon 🇱🇧 to push back the remnants of Hezbollah fighters from the northern border of Israel 🇮🇱.

Note: There are unconfirmed reports that Lebanese citizens are attacking Hezbollah in the streets. I have not seen any official confirmation of this, but @rebitzman & @thread.ted on Threads have linked to a video posted by @hahussain showing locals attacking Hezbollah fighters in the streets.

President George W. Bush Gives His Thoughts About Hamas & Israel 🇮🇱

If you are surprised that George W. Bush is in the news again (after over a decade of not being President), then you are probably not paying much attention to what is happening in the Mediterranean area.

Not surprisingly, President Bush gave his uncandid views of what is happening in Israel 🇮🇱 & Gaza, & he even had some praise from President Joe Biden.

Some interesting quote from the Politico.

“Negotiating with killers is not an option,” [President Bush] says in an on-stage interview with presidential historian Mark Updegrove. Before long, he’s preemptively dinging public doubts about war. “It’s not going to take long for people [to say], ‘It’s gone on too long. Surely, there’s a way to settle this through negotiations.’”

President Bush does emphasize that there is a difference between the terrorist organization Hamas & the Palestinian civilians, as well as the need to lead with strength in the Middle East (which makes sense as most governments are ruled by autocratic leaders & not democratic ones).

Hamas (Inadvertently) Admits Islamic Jihad Blew Up Hospital In Gaza

After a hospital in Gaza was hit by a missile strike, Hamas & Israel 🇮🇱 were exchanging blame (as well as fire) as to who was responsible for hundreds of dead hospital patients.

Although many in the Arabian world blamed Israel 🇮🇱 for the destruction of the hospital, a tale of two videos reveals that the likely culprit was another terrorist group who goes by the name of Islamic Jihad.

Israel has been fairly public about their missile attacks into Gaza, including a semi-controversial attack that killed a Hamas terrorist along with his entire family.

Israel has been uploading attacks on Gaza infrastructure online—including civilian buildings where terrorists have been firing from or hiding within (regardless of the collateral damage that is caused)—so they would have little reason to hide an attack like this, especially with so many nations (friends & enemies) watching the conflict from afar.

Why Islamic State (aka ISIS) Is “Winning” In Nigeria

For what it’s worth Boko Haram (now known as Islamic State) is currently losing ground in their war to spread theocratic Islam amongst the masses in Nigeria.

While Islamic State’s pending eradication from yet another region on Earth is cause for celebration, lovers of freedom might be celebrating prematurely due to this one glaring fact.

Now Damasak, like much of northeastern Nigeria, is in a vacuum. Boko Haram has been chased away for now, but it is not clear that the Nigerian Army is ready to occupy and hold this and other towns.

“It is up to them to hold the town. Not us. Our role is offensive. Our mission is to chase the terrorists,” Lieutenant Hassan said. “But they are afraid,” he repeated angrily.

“Our biggest wish is that the Nigerian Army pulls itself together — that it takes responsibility in the towns,” said Mr. Mahamat, the Chadian foreign minister. “We are ready to disengage, right away.” (via New York Times)

Honestly if Nigeria’s military is too scared to occupy cities liberated from Islamic State, then how will Nigeria’s government prevent something similar from happening in the future‽

Unless local forces rediscover their courage then it will be up to foreign forces to maintain the peace, resulting in an indefinite occupation (a scenario that benefits no one in the long run).

Hopefully Nigeria will quickly send troops to the now liberated zones, lest Chad leaves & the world witnesses the reemergence of Islamic State 2.0 (which will be harder to exterminate).

Islamic State To Lebanon: All Your Bases Will Soon Belong To Us

ISIS has announced that Lebanon will be the next state to fall under the sway of its “caliphate.” According to Beirut’s Daily Star newspaper, the only reason ISIS hasn’t attacked yet in force is because they haven’t decided on the mission’s commander.

The Lebanese army is one of the least effective in the Middle East—and that’s saying something in a region where the far more capable Syrian and Iraqi armies are utterly failing to safeguard what should be their own sovereign territory.

The question is not whether Lebanon has the means to fight off Islamic State (as Totten claims Lebanese families are heavily armed), but rather does Lebanon have the will to combat Islamic State to the death.

Unless Israel gets involved (highly unlikely due to Hezbollah’s participation within the Lebanese government) then I expect Lebanon to either fall to Islamic State or join Syria in the chaotic country club.

Yes, CIA Tortured Terrorists…But They Also Tortured Innocents Too

I have yet to read through the entire CIA’s use of Enhanced Interrogation Techniques against terrorists (I am on page 36 with 100 pages to go!) but so far this declassified document is both enlightening & frightening.

Interesting/disturbing info gleamed from the report thus far:

  • CIA did gain some useful Intel from torturing terrorists
  • CIA torture resulted in the death of one individual
  • CIA tortured innocents who were not terrorists
  • CIA delayed releasing innocents due to fears program would be discovered
  • Few CIA contractors went beyond torture “legal limits” established by Justice Department
  • President Obama ended torture of terrorists & innocents via executive order

Although some are decrying the declassification of this document (as it will further enrage terrorists already trying to kill Americans), truthfully Americans need to know how brutal the US government will act towards America’s foes in order to protect US citizens.

Whether or not torturing terrorists (even at the expense of a few innocents) is justified in the long term is another question altogether (although Dick Cheney apparently was/is a fan of the program).

Note: Personally I am glad this program was shut down, although I am highly skeptical that the CIA has abandoned state sanctioned torture techniques.
