Today we headed down the coast to visit some lighthouses and do some crabbing. The day started off with a surprise, when all of the boys showed up to family prayers with mustaches! Apparently they had planned it and sworn each other to secrecy. I have to say I'm not a huge fan, but the boys think it's pretty great!
Our first stop was the Cape Blanco Lighthouse. It is the oldest, continuously operating lighthouse on the Oregon coast. It was beautiful and has an incredible lens, so fun to see.
Our next stop was Old Town Bandon, where we had some lunch, explored the shops and tried out the crabbing with some local fisherman! Crabbing was definitely the highlight for our kids!
We had been told that we couldn't leave Coos Bay without trying the ice cream at Face Rock Creamery, so of course it was on the schedule for today so that we could make a return trip if we loved it as much as we were told we would...we did & we'll be back!
The last stop of the day was the Coquille River Lighthouse. We only saw this lighthouse from afar, but the Oregon Coast is BEAUTIFUL...probably one of the prettiest places I've ever been.
Not a bad way to finish out the day...
