Blessings of the temple

This sweet family was sealed together for eternity yesterday. It was our special privilege to be a small part of this amazing event. We love them and we are so happy for them!
The adoption process has taught us so much about the atonement, how real it is and how it works in our lives. It has also taught us more about the importance of the blessings of the temple.

Seeing these two brothers together is amazing. They are so sweet and so connected. So much alike and so much love between the two of them.

Thank you Dale and Melanie,
for sharing your lives and this special day with us!

Christmas Day

Some misc pictures from Christmas. I have learned not to take a lot of pics on Christmas morning... because I never do anything with them... but I did snap a few.

ImageOne of the highlights of the day was spending a big part of the evening with the Davises... the other Davises. We don't get to see this bunch of Davises very often as they are scattered abroad most of the time. With Kristen in New York and Erin and Lee in England, and Lauren off in Utah for a while, it is not so often that everyone is "home."
They are a fun group and it was especially fun to see them all together.

Image Dog pile on the couch after a few rounds of "the name game." Thanks for introducing us to a fun new game, Ricky!
Image Sisters!
Image Sisters!
Image This is the year that Andrea is taller than Lauren! Andrea is 11 1/2. She is pretty pleased with her accomplishment. This picture almost makes them look the same... but without Lauren's hair, Andrea was about 1/2 inch taller!

ImageFun Cousin picture... haven't had one of these for a LONG time with these cousins! LOVE IT!
later that night Rod brought me one more present to open! It was so much fun shaking it and trying to figure out what it was!!! ....
Image it was the best present of all!!!
Image I love Christmas! I love how close we all feel as a family and all the fun time that we get to spend together. It really is the best!!
We got some great family games and puzzles, and are looking forward to spending much time together playing and putting together!
Now a whole week and a half to just play!

eve gifts

We always look forward to opening that one present on Christmas eve... it really doesn't even matter what it is, it just sparks that excitement of opening presents. One year I think I should just do empty boxes, just for fun!
Image PJ's all modeled in next several pictures...

Then our crazy neighbors came over. With a BIG present. It was so funny.
The came in singing "We hope you will still be our friends..." to the tune of We wish you a Merry Christmas. Knowing the mess that was about to happen in our living room... OH MY....
Check out this fun event!!! (I love Becky's face in the background of the pictures... she was just dying about the whole thing. it was great, they were so sweet to help clean it up too. Although I think we will be finding peanuts in our house for months!)

Image I think this was to get us ready for New Years eve... at least these peanuts aren't in your underwear and clothes for days!!!

A home full of....

MUSIC and JOY,
FRIENDSHIP and FUN,
LOVE and LAUGHTER!
That was our home on Christmas Eve...
As we sang and thought and spoke of our Savior
we felt the very feelings that He taught us.

Image Our table was set and ready to receive the 25 people that would celebrate with us. What a perfect group we had!
Image I had to take a picture of Rod's red and green jello... Rod made a dinner fit for royalty and we all felt like we were for the evening.

Image Grandma read stories..
Image Kiera's amazing gift was opened by steph...
Image ...She loved it
Image Lots of tender moments...
Image
Image And we ate 21 pounds of juicy, tender prime rib! Ruth's Chris has nothing on Rod!!

Image We listened to amazingly talented musicians... if you can actually make music with a Barbie guitar, well... that is true talent!

Image Love having Grandparents near!!!

Image Sherri was the favorite cuddler! Especially with Jason.

Image Leah and I

Image Kiera with Emily

Image Terry and Kim sang to us in their native tongue!!! So amazing.

Image Little drummer boy(s) performed.... with Scott's awe-ing talent on the piano... we had no music, so he played it through once and had it figured out.
Then the Nativity...
Image We knew we were in for a treat when we saw Camels coming down the stairs.

Imagelittle angels... they were so sweet about their roles.

Image The wise men had an amazing entrance on their camels!

Image The whole group. Loved having so many for all the roles. They really did a great job! Kiera and steph were the costume and casting specialists... they did great! LOVED it!!! Probably the best one yet!

Image Our angels pose for a pic.

Image The wise WOMEN!

Image bestest buddies.

Image Big kids need cuddle time too.

Image A family number... so awesome. They sing so good.... Kimberly was suppose to sing but had to work.. It was neat to see Sherri jump up and sing with the kids. Timmy and Steph both have great voices.

ImageEnjoying...
Then dessert...
Image turned into a food fight...

Image the girls got crazy...
Image So Rod helped them clean up...

ImageThis was halarious!

Image A sweet treat when the Smedley's stopped by with a carol and a goodie! They were so cute all dressed in their antlers and hats!

Image Kimberly finally made it.

Image What a great group and perfect evening to celebrate the most important person to ever walk the earth!
Filled with love....
as our lives should be.
Merry Christmas!
