Photowalk - July 18th - 5:45pm - 7:45pm
On July 18th, I will have the privaledge of leading a group of photographers on a walk down Mill Ave in Tempe, AZ. It is part of the Worldwide Photowalk. I am so much looking forward to it. It is an event for photographers of all skills so take a few minutes and check the page out that has more information about it: http://worldwidephotowalk.com/tempe-az-az-usa/
Shirley's Birthday
Tonight for Shirley's 35th Birthday we went to her favorite restaurant, The Cheesecake Factory. It was of course delicious as always. Originally we had planned on leaving the kids with a babysitter but after some sweet talking, we decided it would be fun to bring them along, which of course made the dinner eventful.
Here are some photos from the evening.
After leaving the restaurant, I asked Elin why she did not use the napkin on the table to clean her hands, rather then wipe them on her clothes (see photo below). Her response - speaking as if the napkin is a piece of technical equipment - "Daddy the napkin did not work."

I love how this picture catches the action of Anabelle jumping and Elin running. Different, but it caught my eye as one that I liked.
Below is a photo of Shirley and Kash playing their little game. Everytime Kash is in a playful mood he always grabs Shirley's face and pulls it in close and then starts munching on her chin. It is so adorable. He has tried it with me, but does not like the feeling of stubble on the chin, so he does not do it anymore. But everyday he does with Shirley. Here I caught the moment.
Our little Kash is already eating all kinds of foods. Here we placed him in a high chair and was feeding him bananas, and bread. Anytime we stopped for just a moment to eat off our own plates he would grunt and moan to be fed again.
I love this photo of Anabelle.
Shirley has been learning to use the camera lately, and has been getting some awesome shots. The next two are a couple that she took that I really like of Kash and I.

Rest Break...

This last weekend I photographed 8 different families at the Mesa Arts Center. It was an incredible experience and I really enjoy meeting so many new people in one day. During a short 5 min break, James Martin (who came and shot second camera for a couple of families) grabbed this photo of me using my camera card so while editing photos today I stumbled upon it.

Larry's Famous Hamburgers
Easter with Grandma
Chinese Take Out
This past week (actually two weeks) there has been some kind of sickness going around the family. I am actually the only one that has not got sick so far. Well last night Shirley said she was feeling quite under the weather so we decided I would pick up some teriyaki chicken from a Chinese Restaurant close to our house. When I got their and placed the order, they said it would be about 10 min. Katelyn and I went back and sat in the car to wait. That's when I snapped a few of these photos of Katelyn. She is so incredibly beautiful.

Busy, busy, busy...
Sorry I have not posted a new blog in a week or two. I have been extremely busy editing photos for over 15 family sessions that I have done over the last two weeks. I promise that I will post some new family photos before the end of the week... Now maybe I should start working on my taxes!

My little Belle...

Anabelle is such a sweet little girl. One funny thing about Anabelle is that everything has to be on her time. For example today during lunch she came out in just her panties. I asked her to go get a shirt and shorts on before coming to the table. She refused. Then about 5 min later, she leaves to her room and comes out with her clothes on, with this face of, "I didn't do this because you asked me Dad, only because I wanted to wear something."
Katelyn when she gets older...
Today when we were out taking our Sunday drive we stopped and snapped some shots of the girls. I will post some of our favorites here throughout the week. This first one I wanted to post is one that while reviewing the images, Shirley made the point that this photo looks like Katelyn is much older. It gave us a glimpse as to what a beautiful girl she will be when she is a teenager.

Here is another beautiful photo of Katelyn. My little girls are becoming quite the models lately. Before I had to pull teeth to get a photo, now they have their little poses and love to have photos taken... Love it!

Love to hike... 07/08
This was an old photo taken last July while up visiting Utah. The girls and I went on a hike along with the Cornell family. This was just an old photo that I wanted to post so my girls can someday see a picture of one of my favorite activities to do with them. I love hiking with my little "mountain girls".

Boat Races, Oakley - Id.
When I was growing up I loved going up to Oakley Idaho for our family reunion because I knew it meant that we would be building and racing boats down the canal in front of Grandma's home. We would spend hours, even days building boats - Grandpa along side us helping to use the big power tools that we thought some how, some way would help our boat go faster - when in reality they were just chunks of decorated wood.
This last year I introduced the tradition to my little girls, and they loved it. After hours of putting their boats together (and decorating them a lot better than I ever did) we were ready to race them. The following photo was one that I found on Shirley's camera from last July during our visit. Hopefully we will be able to make it up again this year - I would love to see what kind of boats the girls make again.

Outdoors

Kash is a real good baby overall. But one funny trait about him is that he never cries when he is outdoors. If he is ever fussy, one quick remedy is to take him outside and he almost immediately stops. He loves hanging out at the park, or anywhere just as long as it is outdoors! I see lots of camping in his future...
The Frowny Face...
First off I am not even sure frowny is a word - but either way here is something I hope we remember years from now. Kash has this uncanny ability to be smiling one second and the next put on this "little puppy dog" frown. It seriously happens in a matter of a second or two. While at the park today I was fortunate enough to capture photos of it. What's funny is that he does not cry, he just makes the frown. Usually it is when Shirley is talking to him, but he is not being held. His face is almost his way of saying, "come on pick me up, already..."

Jump on Dad
Tonight as we were trying to get the girls ready to for bed (pajamas, brush teeth etc.) I laid down with Kash on Anabelle's bed. Well what I didn't realize was that I suddenly became a target for a late night energy burst. All three of my girls came in and started jumping up and down on top of me, while Kash looked on in amazement. I am sure he will be up there joining his sisters before long.

Kash in the Shower
When Katelyn was a baby she loved showers. Since then none of our other children have been big fans of them. Well today Shirley brought Kash in the shower with her for the first time and he was not to fond of it. Didn't cry though, so I guess there is still hope. Here are few photos from the adventure.

Vending Machine - Credit Card
At the zoo we were all craving a soda (that was the one thing we forgot to bring on our picnic). Well there was a vending machine there that took debit cards and so when the girls asked if they could buy one, I decided to give Katelyn my card and let her go try it out. Her reaction was priceless. All three girls took off running to the Coke machine with the card in hand. I pulled up my camera in a hurry and caught this photo which to me captured the moment and excitement of all three perfectly.
Zoo Photos
We had a great time at the Zoo with the girls. While there I spent about an hour with a couple to shoot some engagement photos - I will post some of those here this week. As a family we had a picnic there, and the girls loved the tree house with the creek running through it. I would have caught more photos of them playing but I was too exhausted to even run around with them by the time I found a nice place to sit down.
