Father's Day

I always knew that Devin would be a good dad because of the way he loved his nieces and nephews. But even as high as my expectations were for him as a dad, it was only the tip of the iceberg. Devin is truly an AMAZING dad. From the time Kohl was born, Dev wanted Kohl's bassinet on his side of the bed because if not Kohl was just too far away. Every morning he gets up like a giddy school girl and gets Kohl out of his crib and cuddles with him. He ALWAYS wants to be with him and do whatever he can to help me. Happy first of many Father's Days dad/Dev!!

Grandpa Marvin James Lythgoe Jr

Marvin James Lythgoe Jr. 1940 ~ 2010 Marvin James Lythgoe Jr., 69, passed away suddenly but peacefully Saturday, June 19, 2010 at his home in Aurora, CO. If the worth of a man is determined by the depth of his love for his family and friends, we have lost a giant among men. He was his family's compass and parachute and will be loved and missed forever. Marv is survived by his lovely wife of 49 years, JoAnn Richins Lythgoe, and his daughters and their husbands: Debbie and Dave Frischknecht of Spokane WA; and Chris and Tim McEntee of Greenwood Village, CO. He also leaves behind five beautiful grandchildren, his first great-grand-son, and his brothers and sisters: Bill Lythgoe, Karen Ashbaker, Darrell Rector and Marilyn Lawrence. All who loved him are invited to say good-bye at a Viewing on Wednesday, June 23rd, 6:00-8:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life on Thursday, June 24th at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, UT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marv's name to The Alta Vista Center for Autism, 2695 S. Jersey St., Denver, CO 80222. An additional service and interment will be held on Saturday June 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Olinger Chapel Hill, 6601 S. Colorado Blvd, Littleton, CO.

Camping

We went camping at the kolob reservoir with some friends from our ward. It was the first time camping with Kohl, so that was an adventure. Dev said the playpen "wouldn't fit". Then the whole way up he was talking about how excited he was to sleep and cuddle with him because the playpen "wouldn't fit". The best part of camping is the fire and camping food. My new favorite camping dessert is banana boats, yummy!

Nicole and David are married!!

Nicole looked absolutely BEAUTIFUL on her wedding day! We are SO excited to have David in the family, he's AWESOME! Congrats Nicole and David, we love you!

Wedding Weekend

The whole Morin family was together for Nicole and David's wedding, and it was a blast! Like always, there was delicious food and lots of hangin out. Whenever Kade would walk by or come over to play with Kohl, Kohl would get a HUGE smile on his face. Also, I would see Kohl start to get fussy, and either Kade, Ryder, or Brooke would go over and try to make him feel better. It was so cute! Kohl spent a lot of time watching Ellery and Clara crawl to learn how. I must say, he's getting a lot closer. Kohl is so lucky to have such wonderful cousins!

Kohl is 8 months!

It is SO much fun to watch all the new things he does. It feels like he does something new every day. One of my favorite things is to go get him right after he wakes up. He gives the sweetest face, I love it! He's such a sweet and patient baby. He loves to be around people and will let you know if he wants someone in the room with him, and once you go in he stops crying and smiles then continues on with what he was doing. We LOVE this little guy!

This month Kohl:

- has 2 teeth

-LOVES to ride on shoulders (especially Dev's)

- has made it almost impossible to change his diaper, he's moving at the speed of light while trying to accomplish such a task

-thinks cell phones, remotes, and laptops are more exciting then baby toys

-is army crawling

-says mama all the time with an occasional dada

-loves to jump and suck on his stuffed animal bird's foot

-thinks it's fun to rock back and forth when someone's trying to put food in his mouth
