I'm always amazed at how much time has gone by since I last updated their blog! I can't say that we have anything exciting happening - just everyday life with 6 people :)
Maren seems to be growing and talking more and more everday! She'll be 2 in about 3 months and you can tell! She uses 2-3 word sentences and seems to understand everything we tell her. She still thinks her sisters are the best and Norah's teaching her all about having an attitude :)
Norah is doing very well! She wants to read and write like her older sisters so we try to practice often. She's very good at telling you the story through pictures in the book and it's fun watching her try to write! She's working on perfecting her name! The potty training seems to be a back and forth, love-hate relationship, but I'm sure (or atleast hoping) she'll have it down by the time she's 4 :)
Layla is doing great! I had her teacher conference today and everything is going very well. She listens really well (thank goodness) and seems to be right where she needs to be! She doesn't love getting up in the mornings to go to school but loves it once she arrives. She loves P.E. and lunch and recess :) She's not too much into the academics at this point but I'm just glad she does her work and is not disruptive :) She knows all the numbers, letters, letter sounds, so now we are working on our site words! She has begun reading phonics books at this point and she's picking it up more and more! She has many friends and seems to get along with anyone and everyone! She has told me she has a few "school boys" that she likes :)
Ella is also doing very well in school! She just loves 1st grade and her teacher, Mrs. Bader. She's in the top reading group in her class (reading at a "J" level which is where she needs to be to leave 1st grade) and is going on to start reading some easy 2nd grade books. We have read many chapter books here at home - mainly the Junie B Jones series - very cute! She's so stinkin good in math - I still attribute that to Danny and God :) She seems to pick up on concepts very quickly and easily - again, thank you God! They are just now beginning their science units so I'll be interested to see what she thinks of that. She has yet to find something in school she does not love! Her teacher informed me today that many times she will find Ella with a group of children and she is reading to them. She apparently loves to help in the classroom whenever possible! Her teacher was sure to tell me how kind she is!
As a mom, you are always bias towards your children, so it's always wonderful to hear an outsider tell you how well they are doing! I can only hope and pray they stay on this path - I'd like to think Danny and I are doing something right in raising these little people :)
