miscellaneous

Ella and Grandma watching Mary Poppins - hence why Ella would only smile but not look my way :) She has become obsessed with that movie!!
Image

Friday we took the girls to see "Horton Hears A Who" - cute movie! But when we walked out here is what we found. Can you see that white substance in the background?!?! It has been snowing here on and off for 2 days! Isn't April next week? I miss Hot'Lanta :)

Sisterly love?

Out to lunch at Red Robin after a long day of playing with Grandma and Grandpa. Ella seemed to be in a loving mood and wanted nothing but to hold and hug her sister. Layla was not feeling the love!

Jump Planet

I wanted to take Ella to Jump Planet while my parents were here and I don't know who was mroe tired afterwards - Ella or the grandparents :) Jump Planet is a large warehouse filled with all sorts of bouncy houses, mazes, and slides (Oh my)! Ella was moving so much it was difficult to get any great shots - I feel like that is my life's motto right now!!

This was Ella waiting to go in. She does this thing now where she just looks at you out of the corner of her eyes. It's almost as worse as an eye roll and it never fails to make me feel inferior - how does she do that?!?!?!?

Going down the giant slide with Grandma! My favorite moment of the day!!

I thought this smirk was great!!

Chuck-e-cheese!

What would a visit with Grandma and Grandpa be, without a visit to Chuck-e-cheese?!?!
Especially since Ella learned to say "chuck-e-cheese, please, grandpa!" :)

Layla would not take her eyes off the dancing puppets on stage!

Ella mastered putting the tokens in . . which eventually became more fun then any of the games or rides!
Image
She did keep coming back to the telephone where you could dial a number and talk to Chuck-E. What a girl!!!!

What a ride!

For Christmas, my parents bought Ella one of those over-sized stuffed animals - a lion - but we were not able to bring it home with us, so they brought it out this visit! The girls love it :) It's already provided great entertainment!!

I love that it looks like Ella is really holding Layla tight, like they are on some wild ride :)

Eye on the prize!

I tried to catch Layla in movement last week. She was going for her sippy cup which I have found to be a good motivational tool for her :) This week, since my parents have been here, she has really begun to move! She is definitly picking up speed and I am sooooo thrilled!! I know a lot of people say just to enjoy it all and we have - for 10 months - but now I am so excited she is gaining a bit of freedom and she's able to play with Ella a bit more!

Out to lunch

Last week Celeste and I were out doing some outlet shopping and took the kiddos to lunch! Here's Layla and Celeste's little boy Grayson. They are only 2 days apart and he is the first boy who will probably ever drive a wedge between my girls :) Layla just loves Grayson and Grayson just loves Ella! Uh-oh!

Happy Happy Easter!

The girls woke up with overflowing Easter buckets! After having a candy breakfast we went to church and then out to lunch at Outback - something we started when we moved out here since we are always by ourselves, but we have come to enjoy it! The girls looked soo cute in their dresses this year together, but unfortunately were not up for a "posed" pic so I got them wherever I could :) Easter services were beautiful as always! Bells played throughout the service, the choir performed Hallelujah Chorus from Messiah and I have to say that some of the best hymns are sung on Easter! We had a peaceful day as a family and now we are preparing for a fun=filled week because my mom and dad fly in tonight!!

Easter Egg Hunt

We took the girls to a city wide Egg Hunt on Saturday! Although Ella only got a few eggs, she had a great time just picking up all the candy off the ground! She loved the Easter Bunny from afar but would not get close enough to him to let us get her picture! One year I will get it, but I am thinking it won't be anytime soon!

So proud!!

Well after much anticipation, Layla finally begun her journey to mobilization today!! She has begun the army crawl, and while to many people it may be no big deal, I am very excited and proud of her! We've been having a very hard time getting her to do anything but roll around (and though I've been told some kids would rather roll than walk) and an especially hard time getting her to bear weight on her legs - so I feel like this is her first big step in that direction! I'll try to see about getting some pics soon :)

Daddy-Daughter Day!

Danny had a day with Ella on Sunday. They had brunch at IHOP and then went to the mall where Ella was allowed to go anywhere she wanted! Danny is such a good daddy and Ella becomes more his little girl everyday!! I was at a birthday party with Layla and came home to both of them tuckered out :)
Image

Messy Messy

We've gone to putting all Layla's food on her high-chair and letting her just feed herself - which she eats much better this way than us trying to feed her! She is definitely an independent little girl when she wants to be!! She had mashed potatoes last night and what a mess!! But it was too cute :) She loved every minute of it!!

House update!

I've had some people asking about the house, so I thought I'd let everyone know - we are still in the process of trying to buy our home! We did have the inspection last week and having the appraisal done this week. After that, the entire package (contract, inspection report, and appraisal) will be sent to the bank to get their approval. We are dealing with a weird situation (a pre-forclosure home) and techinally the bank can take any offer they want (if it's better than ours) up until the point we close - so really it's a crapshoot :)We are in contract with the actual man who owns the home but the bank he owes makes the final decision. I strongly recommend never dealing with this type of process unless you have no money like us and you're trying to get a great home for nothing! But oh well - I married a gambling man (not really!) :)
