Pinch me . . I'm dreaming!

On second thought - don't wake me - just let me savor the moment even if it was a dream! Today, in our home, from 2pm to almost 5pm - BOTH girls were asleep! This may be a regular occurence for some of you with more than one child at home, but Ella has not napped since 18 months and lately I can tell Layla looks for any excuse to stay up with big sis! What did I do with all the "mommy me time" you ask?? What any other pregnant mommy of 2 would do . . dishes? no! laundry? no! I sat my butt on the couch and watched movies with Danny!! I think God knew we all needed a rest :)

they can feed off of eachother all day and night! i never get tired of watching them together! even when they annoy eachother - 5 minutes later they'll be laughing about something! i hope i can reflect back to these amazing and joyful noises and memories when they are 13 and 14!

I'll take a side of guilt with the amoxicillian, please!

After having a cough for 3 weeks I took Ella to the Dr. today to discover she has a double ear infection and a sinus infection! No fevers, no congestion, no lethargy - nadda symptom to be had! But as mommy, I feel like I should have that special radar that knows when my children are sick even if they don't know it!

I have very healthy kids - I can name twice in 3 years that Ella has been very sick and needed meds - and other than that it's just the normal colds! And she rarely tells me when something hurts or what's going on - she's only 3! And in the past when I've taken her in for things I always get the same response - nothing serious, just let it run it's course! So of course, the one time I figure it's nothing - it's SOMETHING! You're damned if you do, damned if you don't, i guess!


Does she look sick?? She was thrilled to get pink medicine and a pink dropper! She told me "i guess even big girls get sick, mommy!"

well it looks like we are in a dead tie for guessing the gender of this baby! danny dreamt it was a girl and I'm still thinking boy - we'll know 2 weeks from tomorrow - lucky Friday the 13th :) If it ends up being a girl, get your thinking caps ready and come up with some names! We are pretty set if it's a boy but we have too many for a girl :) It's always been the other way around - we've never agreed on a boy's name and we've always got the girl covered . . one more reason I'm thinking boy :)

I am a huge sucker for sleeping babies (I need to stop refering to her as a baby- she'll be 2 in four months!) . . especially when the thumb is in the mouth :)

She also was proclaiming the other night that she wanted to get married :) I asked her if she had any prospects and thankfully she said "no" - but I ask you, can she get more girly than this?!?!? I actually get a kick out of it and love how much she loves to look at my wedding album and put on my make-up (don't tell daddy) and put on her "fancy" clothes and run around! What's the good of having girls if they don't really go all out :)

I can post these now only because I now know that I can actually work my butt off and lose the weight and am not too embarrassed of the extra 60 lbs - of course I just get pregnant again :) - but you can see why I think my body looks a bit different right now. check back in 4 months :)

Baby news . .

We're almost halfway there!! Next week will be 20 - YAY! My body is responding much different to this pregancy - which is why I guess I assume it's a boy but Danny, and Kathy I think - both pointed out to me that I felt that way about Layla too :) so I think it's safe to say it's a crapshoot! I'm not gaining nearly the weight I have before and I really seem to be carrying this baby much differently. With the girls my tummy was HUGE and round and took up the entire top half of my body - literally! This baby seems to be comfortable with just a little basketball sticking straight out at the moment. But since this is not my first go around, I know I've got a good 4months to still pack on the pounds and expand just as I've done in the past :) So we'll see . . Danny took some random pix of the belly today.





"hellloooo baby!" ella likes to rub my belly and talk to the baby. she has told me that if it's a baby brother she won't help me take care of him . . let's hope she has a change of heart :)

Danny is registered to take his 4th test on Monday afternoon. He has saved the hardest 3 for last so I don't think he is breezing through them as much as he wanted to, but better to study hard and pass the first time around then having to wait and re-test later!! It probably doesn't help that it's hard to find any sort of quiet time in our house at the moment :)

Not too much to report from the Brindisi home right now. I don't want to use the word mundane because life is never that with toddlers - but nothing exciting and "blog worthy" to really report! The pregnancy is moving along - I've plateaued in weight, hence no new belly pics right now! Here are just a few random pix from last week . .

Big Girls Don't Cry

I enjoy jammin to Fergie in the car - so in turn, so does Ella :) It's rare though that she lets me tape her singing too much, so I'm pleased now that I have a bit of footage that I'm sure all her high school friends will get a kick out of someday :)

small miracles!

It's those small, daily miracles that make the day so great sometimes! For instance: the girls are slowly beginning to sleep in their own beds in the same room :)!! we took Ella to her first dentist appointment this morning and she LOVED it :)!! the baby has begun to move more and more, reminding me that there is a daily miracle taking place :)!! So many things to be thankful for when raising children!!

Quickie

I had my monthly dr. appt this morning that takes all of 5 mins :) I wish I could just check in by phone or webcam! Everything is as normal as it can be! I scheduled the "big one" (ultrasound) for lucky Friday the 13th! It stinks that we have to wait 5 weeks since they could've done it in 2 but since Danny goes with me and the girls go as well it was easier just to wait until my Feb appt to do it all in one day! I have to admit it - I am definitely feeling "boy" - I think because ever since I've entered the 2nd trimester I don't really "feel" pregnant anymore! I've felt "him" move a couple times but nothing frequent and I'm not gaining nearly as much weight as I have with both girls so I'm really anxious to find out what we are having now!

Christmas Part Two

Because of all the crazy weather we've been having the past few weeks a lot of packages ended up getting delayed or getting lost in the mail! A few boxes with presents for the girls showed up 2 days ago . . as always they are spoiled by our families - but they're only young once :)
