sunday lunch

out to lunch at beef o' brady's after church!





the countdown is on! we are in the throws of packing and getting everything in order! we are loading the truck friday and heading out saturday morning. and to top it all off danny and all the girls have been sick - we've got dr's appt's thursday, just to get checked out before we go! because danny has to start work next friday we are on a time crunch so i am not looking forward to the long days in the car - kind of glad we bought that van :) we've gotten a place to stay and once i know our phone number i'll e-mail it to everyone! please keep us in your prayers the next 2 weeks!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAYLA! we celebrated layla's 3rd birthday this past saturday, with a snow white party! it was a wonderful day spent with family! danny's parents came up from dothan and spent the night which was great! i was very happy that the girls were able to see them before we left. i took a crazy amount of pix so i may have to post in installments :)

11 months!

Norah is 11 months today and she is finally crawling! She is not the speed racers of crawling, she stills only resorts to it when absolutely necessary but she can do it! She "talks" constantly and very loudly! She can say mama, dada, and cheese - weird, i know, but that's what happens when you have a camera in your face all the time :) she's cut 6 teeth in less than 2 months - ouch! - but she seems to be dealing with it a bit better for the time being! and even though she still will not sleep for us (we were doing so well but that's no more!) she remains one of the happiest babies i know!

on the move . . again!

let me catch you all up to speed . . over the last month Danny has had 3 interviews with 3 different firms out in seattle. 2 weeks ago one of those firms offered him a job - but he turned it down! end of story, right? not so fast . . this is the brindisi family afterall :) while vacationing this past weekend there was a lot of time to sit and think about what we wanted and where we wanted to be. after many, many, many discussions we decided danny was going to contact the firm and see if the job was still available. it seems they really like him . . they were very happy to hear from him and wanted him to start ASAP! sooo . . we are packing up the truck, again, and heading back across the country, again - a week from saturday! yes, in less than 10 days we will pack and be gone!!! he is starting his new job friday, may 28th. danny is thrilled about this position . . and he is working with some people he already knows so that's a great bonus! i am excited to be returning to friends i truly love and an area we love being in . . but of course there is a lot of anxiety for me in this decision. it's hard to imagine going back to a place so far away from our families, but after many prayers and many tried attempts to stay in the southeast (architecture is just dead here!!) i feel this is the right move for our family! please just keep us in your prayers as we begin this, somewhat "new", journey in our lives!!

beach vacation/wedding

This past weekend Danny was in a wedding down in Destin. We left on Thursday and returned last night. Very long weekend :) Tip: the beach is fun. the beach is even more fun without your kids!!! We had a great time, just hit a few bumps along the way. After we checked into our hotel Thursday we took the girls down to the beach just for a quick look and while we were there Layla fell down the stairs leading to the beach. Not just tripped down a step or two - fell and then rolled down a very long flight of stairs!! Very tense and scary for a bit afterwards. Except for a few cuts on her face (which you'll see in some pics) and a few on her legs and back - thank God her angels were with her and nothing serious happened! She was already scared of the beach so i don't think that helped matters! Then, Friday night she became very sick - break out the inhalers!! So my poor layla had a bit of a rough time - but she is such a go with the flow type gal!! After her fall, she still wanted to go out to dinner and party (which we did!) and even after not breathing well all night, she still wanted to go to the wedding (which we did!) She is still sick, but seems to have gotten over the worst of it. Ella and Norah had a blast! I think if Ella had her way, we'd be beach bums forever!

friday morning we were up and out by 8am to hit the beach (not the most relaxing of getaways w/ the kids)! ella had no fear (surprising!) and once norah got used to it, she loved the sand! layla wouldn't even put on her bathing suit. she sat on my shirt and made a sand castle, but she was happy doing it so we just left her to it :)
