The Sundering

Friday, November 28, 2008

The end of the beginning is the beginning of eternity.

Today marked the end of a long and coloured second semester. I had good memories, bad recollections…sour incidents, pleasant events. Ultimately, I emerged unscathed and wiser for the turn.

From ITP:
Jian, Jason, Kim, Feli, Faiz, Queennie, William…you fellows make the course worth the while. Pleasant journeys ahead!

From CTS:
Yusuf, Ezekiel, Janice, Jeremy, Louis…you fellows challenge the barriers of comfort-zone thinking. Keep it up!

From HCM:
Oh my goodness, practically every one of you made it the best course I’ve had so far.

Jeremy, Louis, Vighnath, Ashikin, Dila, Yuna, Zion, Maggie, Arinah, Phui Mun, Joshua, Eugene, Dalvinder…I’m fairly sure the list goes on, but these are the people I can name off the top of my head. Thank you so much for brightening up the Human Communications experience!

From (Adv) ENG:

Y’all are a silent bunch! Yuna, Sheh Li, E-Hua, Kee Hui…you gals need to speak up and speak out! Make your mark, let your voices be heard in the positive theme more often!

Denise…you already speak sufficiently…so I’ll leave you out of the “Speak More” campaign….heh heh.

From MPW1133 (M’sian Studies) :

Well I can’t say I know most of you, but the ones I do know and have not already mentioned above…Leonard, Jarred, Abel, Elaine, Vivian, Aavinash, Jia Yiing, Arvind…you fellows are scattered all over the place so there’s really no catch-all compliment I can say. Regardless, your presence made the otherwise dreary course that much more interesting.

Of course, no less deserving of honourable mentions…the lecturers. Mr. Murali, Ms. Chris, Mr. Siva, Ms. Fazidah, and Ms. Su. Coming this far was not a solo effort. Due credit must be given to those who have tolerated the highs and lows of the course of 14 weeks. Thank you sirs and ma’ams!

Presentation Blues

Sunday, November 23, 2008

It’s that time again. Presentations roll around, and I get that cold, icy anxiety that plagues me every time I’m required to present something in public.

First on the list: Advanced English (Monday 24th)

Top priority: Critical Thinking Skills (Wednesday 26th)

Under immense time-constraints: Internet Principles (Thursday 27th)

Nov 21

Had a hell of an interesting trip. Don’t think I’ll ever look at the reverse gear the same way I did before the 21st. Our entire convoy reversed down the middle of the NSE.

I think I’ve met someone who convinced me that love isn’t dead for me. Miss. Miss. Miss.

Daze

Monday, November 17, 2008

Got my notebook back with a functional screen.

Only problem is, it’s not half as bright as it was when it was brand new. Reason? Screen has been changed from a BrightView LG screen to a traditional matte screen. Things look faded now. They look worse than my bloody decade-old CRT monitor at home FFS.

Thank you, thank you so fucking much. I hope I never have to interact with you ever again. Pay up and shove off. Jump off a cliff. Switch campuses. Die. Do whatever you want. Just go the hell away from me.

Words do not always convey the proper impact of things, so I shall use two snapshots to explain.
