About Decorchick

Hey there, I’m Emily!

Thanks for stopping by, I’m so glad you’re here! I started this blog back in 2008 as a place to share all things home decor and DIY, and while that was such a fun chapter, life has evolved… and so have I.

These days, I’m all about wellness, living with intention, and creating a life that feels good full of purpose and peace. I’m passionate about fitness, faith, beauty, and helping others feel their best, whether that’s through simple daily habits, healthy routines, or just encouragement for the journey. I love to also share our business and entrepreneurial ventures. Multiple streams of income is never a bad thing am I right?!

We moved into a new home recently, and while I may not be swinging a paintbrush like I used to (mama still got it though!), I still love creating a space that feels peaceful and lived-in. You’ll catch glimpses of it here and there, along with snippets of our life, our dogs (Louis and Cookie—yes, both must be mentioned!), and whatever’s currently bringing joy.

I’m a Texas girl at heart (so yes, you’ll hear a lot of y’all), happily married to my husband Randy who’s an incredibly talented saxophone player, and we’re both small business owners who work from home. Plot twist…I did get back into the corporate world, and also work a full time job in the finance industry, and love it! We’re raising our sweet family and learning as we go, leaning on God’s grace every step of the way.

Around here, you’ll find a blend of lifestyle, wellness, and heart-led content. I’m glad you found your way here and I hope you leave feeling inspired, encouraged, and maybe even a little lighter.

xo,

Emily

Hi, I’m Emily! I’m passionate about wellness that actually feels good, building strength at any age, and embracing beauty, inside and out. I share snippets of real life, faith, our cozy home, and simple ways to feel your best (and maybe even earn extra income while doing it). Let’s make this season your strongest and most intentional yet. I’m so glad you’re here!

Merry Christmas!!🎄🎄🎄 Merry Christmas!!🎄🎄🎄
3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
