Hello Turkey! (Part two)

Third Day: Konya - Cappadocia

This day was perhaps our longest day of travelling. Well our tour guide taught us some of Turkish language and told us stories-histories of Turkey, but most of the time I was sleeping.

loong journey

We visited Mevlana Museum in Konya, where it contains the tomb of the Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi.

Thousands of people came here every year
To be honest, I don't quite understand why we visited this place, because I don't know about the history. I just imagined it's famous with it's ceremony in which they remember Allah through whirling movements.

We stop by at few Mosques on our way to Cappadocia for rest and perform our prayer. I also took this opportunities to 'mengeteh' Turkish style.

Day four: Cappadocia

It's time for hot air balloon guys!! FYI I did hesitate a lot when deciding on whether I should ride the expensive hot air balloon or not (It costs me 220USD=appx RM1000). Lol
I was kinda in a tight budget at that time. I called my big sis to ask for her opinion, then she told me not to be too stingy when travelling. So here we go!

We had to be there before fajr and before it gets too windy!

pretty view from the sky, masyaAllah!

Next we went back to our hotel for breakfast, before continuing our journey to the pigeon valley, and visiting the Kaymakli Underground City.

The underground city consists of living quarters, sleeping rooms, stables, communal kitchens, church, graveyard, etc. We had the opportunities to see ourselves and descend underground. hoyeah!

The only good picture I managed to took as it was dark inside
After that we had our lunch at the underground restaurant.

We also went to textile shop and also were given the time to cuci mata at the gem shop. (hiqh quality and of course, very expensive loh!) I was being told that the turqoise gem was the first gem in history and I was like, 'Oh, I see...'(with such an uninterested face hmm...)

Day five: Ankara-Bolu

Next we visited the Attartuk Museum. It's just in the itineraries but there's nothing much here to tell. Then we stop by at the shopping outlet! (Bought my first abaya here)

I just need to go shopping. See you again in my next post of Istanbul guys! Toodles *wink*

Hello Turkey! (Part one)

I know, I know, I went to Turkey during last year's summer yet it took me a year later to post about my lovely journey. *wink*

My friends and I wanted to travel overseas together again (since our trip to Korea), so we decided to travel to European countries (+Istanbul). I've been saving money after I finally settle down with paying health insurance, room rent, school, etc.

Meet my travel partner, wiwin.

So here we go. Guys, it's Turkey guys!! The place of great history. Haghia Sophia, Sultan Al-Fateh, Abu Ayyub Al-Ansari, culture, tea, kebab, baklava! Probably fell in love with Turkey after I read the novel about Sultan Muhammad Al-Fateh, and also knowing about the famous history of Constantinople. We gotta be serious and make up our itineraries!

Okay, before I start babbling about everything besides our travel in Turkey, let me tell you first that we (me and wiwin) joined the Jejak Uthmaniyyah travel package, and it's quite a luxury package actually (sila jangan kecam saia). It's our first time travelling to far away country, and we wanted to have a tour guide to explain about the places and its history.

Image
Kau Hado?
So here we go.

It's a 18hrs flight (Nagoya-Beijing-Abu Dhabi-Istanbul), and it was a looong journey. We watched multiple lists of dramas, eat and sleep, transits, and finally reached Istanbul airport.
Image
eat and sleep and eat again for hours
As for lunch, we grabbed some burger at Burger King. (It was super expensive guys!) We reached earlier than everybody who were departing from KL and Mesir? (I guess).

Image
The first among the group to reach Istanbul
We reminded ourselves not to put a high expectation on this journey, so that we don't feel disappointed at the end of the day. It's our first journey together, we tried so hard to learn about each other and learn to be broadminded so that we don't ruin our vacation. We had plenty of times as we were the earliest. We went outside of the airport, look around, found a wifi hotspot, ordered some coffee and correct our wristwatch.

Image
First selfie in Turkey
As soon as everyone arrived, we introduced ourselves to the families. The uncles are very amusing, and the aunties are so..aunties. I'm glad that wiwin is the friendly type and loosened the awkwardness between us. We rode the bus, meet the Turkish tourguide who can speak Malay very well, and busy taking pictures throughout the journey to our first hotel in Bursa. We reached the hotel at 2 in the morning, so we quickly get into bed as soon as we have our room key.

Oh finally! First day in Bursa.

We went to Cumalikizi village which is the perkampungan awal Uthmaniyyah as we were told. I was imagining myself walking in the village during the early Uthmaniyyah period. It's quite early in the morning, and the souvenir shops were just beginning to open. (forgive me for the weak grammar *wink*)

Image

Then we visited Ulu Cami Mosque, the largest mosque in Bursa. We were told that it is the 5th important mosque, and Nabi Khidir AS wrote Himselves the 'و' calligraphy. And what amazes me is the water fountain IN the mosque for wudhu' (ablution). Cool, isn't it?

Image

Next we went to Koza Han - Silk Market. High quality and cheap productions such as silk fabrics, silk scarves, shawls, etc can be found here.

Image

After that we went for dessert hunting! Kidding. We went to a Turkish Delight store, where I bought boxes of desserts. yummy! (I didn't took any pictures here, probably because I was too focus on which baklava to buy *wink again*)
Finally we proceed to our next destination, Kusadasi and Pamukkale.

Day two: Kusadasi - Pamukkale

Image
Our hotel in Kusadasi
We watched a fashion show, where they promote their high quality of leather, and we were allowed to touch and try wearing the very expensive jacket! (I ALMOST bought myself a very pretty jacket leather which costs me 1/3 of my scholarship tsk tsk)

Image
amboi pergi Turkey tgk fashion show

almost bought the expensive leather jacket! phew..
We took quite some time at the store, and quickly proceed to our next destination: Selcuk. Here we visited the Ancient City Ephesus, but didn't have enough time to visit the Artemis Temple; one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. (I've no idea why it is listed in the seven wonders of the ancient world)

Then we went to visit Isabey Mosque, one of the oldest known mosque in Kusadasi. I love the idea of 'masjid hopping' of this travel package. It doesn't matter that we are stopping by to pray or not; it's just that I feel connected to the places just by stopping by at the mosques. Somehow I just feel welcomed. =)

Finally, we proceed to our final destination of the day; Pamukkale. (Cotton Castle) It is one of Turkey's top attractions. We were given free time to explore the place, so we took a lot of pictures while dipping our feet in the pools. (wearing shoes are prohibited)

Image
Pamukkale (Cotton Candy Castle)
It was a long day, and we headed to our next hotel in Pamukkale. I realised that I didn't really took pictures in hotels or our buffets. I only cared for my empty stomach and tired eyes. Haha

Probably you realized I took a lot of selfies, (normally i seldom do that) but this time I want to remember every places I went in Turkey, as it brings a lot of memories.
Well then, it's 1 am in the morning and I'm pretty tired so, see you again in my next journal, toodles!

Graduating soon

Image
FYP day

Haluuu!
It's been a while since my last post when I was having mentally breakdown. Ahha.. Time flies fast and I've made my decision (by His Will).

Oh btw I've decided to further my master in Fukui University(my current uni now which I turned down before ahha). Biasalah, masa tu otak tengah serabut and I can't think straight so I had long midnight chit-chat with a friend so dia slow talk sebelum aku buat rash decision nak turn down the scholarship. tsk tsk.

Nak pendekkan cerita, (yea well after I get through all the rintangan - permission oni utk next entrance exam, fight utk tukar kenkyu, seminggu test pasal networking, seminggu getting ready utk exam math dan presentation pasal research planning + current research yang dia rahsiakan until I get over with my network test and yada yada tu) ...I've settled my entrance exam yesterday. *Hooray*
Image
bersengkang mata utk exam

dah berbelas tahun membesar dengan kawan2, jauh dari family. for me graduate ceremony is a very important moment dalam timeline hidup sebab Tuhan tahu betapa dahsyatnya orang dah merembes meleleh air mata darah bagai ni.
memang la aku cakap xpenting pun sangat, setakat pakai baju lawa nak grad apalah sangat. tapi dalam hati nak sangat ada family member yang datang utk tengok kita walaupun it's just a ceremony. tapi padan muka sapa suruh kau duduk oversea belajar jauh2. kan. haha

Dear beloved February

I'm halfway to 50 today yet no matter how I hate the fact that I'm getting older and older, I still love my 15 February.

Dear 15 February. since I came to Japan, there are lots of unexpected things happen every year and I never didnt cry by myself when I'm alone on this favorite day. Don'T misunderstood this, but I cried just to soothe myself for being lonely. eh lonelynya. k just kidding.

When I was in Kosen 3rd year, I had influenza and everyone else was having their exams. During my 4th year, It was our last day of final exam and after that I dragged my friends to celebrate my birthday in  a restaurant. 5th year pulak, I was planning to go to Nagaoka to meet friends and celebrate, but UNFORTUNATELY it was snowing on that day, and all the trains stopped. Off I went back to hostel and ordered pizza. My juniors kindly chia me at a restaurant the next day, though. Haha.

In Kisarazu, we had this aktiviti turun-temurun to celebrate our birthday. So the night before somebody's bday, we will bake cake together, and buy presents, and at sharp 12 oclock midnight, we'll light up the candles and go to the bday girl'S room. Probably it was the reason why I started to like baking.

Ok so. This year's February is a very tough and hectic month. I have to finish my report, doing simulations, thesis, prepared for FYP, burn the midnight oil at lab, getting crazy, didnt have time to sleep or eat properly, and on top of that, studying for my entrance exam to toyohashi university. I'm sure gonna treat myself when I settled everything. ZETTAI. konon cam nak treat myself makan at fancy restaurant ke, icecream ala-ala chicken delight pny eskim ke, cake ala-ala secret recipe ke.. dating ngan crush ke. eh

so ieba, I havent think of any present to give to kak liza or for myself. tak tahu nak apa sebab lately bizi takcukup tido tak cukup makan. btw esok FYP. I am being manja for not getting ready yet for this evening's final pre-presentation and my university result akan keluar this friday. Allah cuaknye Kau je tahuuuu

I havent't think for any 'my new year resolution' yet. nanti lah fikir. at least lepas dah habis happyo besok sebab aku happyo pukul 110 petang. so, toodles!
