Wednesday

Today I:
  • vacuumed the house before breakfast
  • stayed home all day
  • felt really frustrated trying to get Soren down for a nap
  • took pictures of that sweet boy waking up from the nap
  • watched Lucca work on a new painting technique
  • worked on some embroidery
  • watched my two boys play in the yard all afternoon. Naked. Them, not me.
  • cleaned up quite a bit of toddler pee off the kitchen floor
  • wondered if it was ok to start drinking at 4:30. Didn't.
  • made pizza
  • had an interesting conversation about superheroes while we ate it
  • answered about 5,678 questions
  • felt really frustrated trying to get Soren down for the night
  • watched some pinata work being done in the living room

Hello

I'm thinking of starting to post here again. Just a preliminary warning of possible things to come. Maybe expanding the focus a bit, to include other tidbits on my mind, in addition to the boyz. Ok.

Afternoon car conversations

This afternoon while we driving, Lucca asked me what a Jedi is, so we had a discussion about what the Force is.*

And later:

Lucca: Mama, some day I want to buy you some jewelry.
Me: wow, that would be nice, thank you! What made you think of that?
Lucca: Well, Papa told me that if you want to impress a girl, you buy her jewelry.

The force is strong with this one.

*he has not seen Star Wars, btw.

Ambulatory

Soren has been taking steps independently for the past week or so, and yesterday he walked across the room!

He's really excited about it and pretty delighted with himself. As am I.

(please excuse the disastrous condition of my living room. I have no excuse, this is just how we live.)

assisted walker

Soren is all about assisted walking these days. I can't believe he's almost 11 months old!

rider

Lucca recently conquered the pedal-bike-with-no-training-wheels! He went through some frustration, but on Tuesday we went to the park and he got some good practice in without friends there to compete with/be distracted by. He's so proud of himself! but not as proud as his mama...
