93 degree's

Hello to all, I had to show you what 80 and 90 degree weather in 2 weeks will do to the flowers. The Gazineas have bloomed in all there glory. They close up at night and say there prayers too. It's Sunday at 5:30 and 93 degree's. UGH. Trying to get yard work done and pack and ready to go is not my favorite. Wanted you to see some before and after pictures too.Image When we moved into this house right across the street was all orange tree's and look at it now. It's just terrible to see. They are supposed to put in 1 acre lots like ours for re-sale value. Let's hope. With all this down swing and Riverside is building building building. And is 3rd in the nation in foreclosures.
Image This little gully is when my coyotes live that sing to me everynight. I havent heard them for a couple of week though. With all that machinery I bet they have found another place to live. I love to hear them sing to each other. And even the babies would chime in with little tiny voices.

Image I promised you a picture of the backyard. This is some of it. The other 1/2 acre is undeveloped. This is more than enough to kill us taking care of it. The neighbors got in there pool today. But it still needs more 90 degree days to get it warm enough.

Image Preston come and visit Aunt Denny she has a big boy swing set that is fun to play on, can you see it. And Heather with all this construction I thought you know what would be prowling around.
But only 1 so far and that was Friday and someone got to it before me. Run over the head good. And I put my 4 cents worth of tire over it. Didn't even flatten it. Was really tough. But by night time when I took Uncle Jim Bob out to see it, it was worse than ground dirt. I'm going to install and electric wire the length of my yard and whenever anything goes over it it will shock them. So come and visit me Heather...

Image Really I did this blog to see if I could remember how to do it...So here goes....Love to all...Denny

What a beautiful day for Sunday Easter. This is the view out of our front door. The little mountain above the green trees is downtown Riverside and has a huge white cross on top. Every Easter whoever wants to can hike up at about 3:am to reach the top just as the sun come up. They say it's a very moving moment, but I couldn't do it with my knee. Would like to though.Image Jim still believes that Santa comes every year and that the Easter Bunny comes close behind. He's getting around better but is still not 100%. Dr. said it is going to take him a year to recover from all he had done. Still won't even entertain the thought of retirement. Which is good for me. He hated being home sick. Was bored out of his head and couldn't wait to get back to work. Love you my Jim Bob:)
Image Easter Bunny had to hide the Basket until Eric found them hiding and he took them out and arranged them for the Sleepy Bunny with her umbrella she got in LA. Thanks Eric for the help. Everybody seemed happy with not getting to much chocolate. Eric really gets on our case about it too. Not good for you Mom he tells me all the time...

Image This was our fruit and Rice krispie treat for our Choclate Fountain for Dessert this year. Kinda a bummer not having all the cakes and yummy sugar treats. But we made the best of it. Strawberries are on here right now and they are so good....

Image Spring has definately brought out all the flowers in the yard. When we moved in I wanted the front to be done all in Orange Gazineas. They planted them so far apart 4 years ago and now they are everywhere and so pretty. Thought you'd enjoy seeing the front Yard. Backyard is so full of Aloa Vera, Ferns, Roses, as soon as we get it all cleaned up I'll send pictures of it. Neighbor asked me the other day that if her daughter gets married this summer could they have it in our Back Yard. That will be the Second Wedding here. It's neat.

Image Here's a picture of our little Bonnie statue on a Rocking Horse with Hens and Chickens and Violets growing all around her, and she has a nice shady place under the palm tree's. I often go out and talk to her....I remember so much about her and grandma tell me about us doing thing together.... Love to all of you. I'm proud of Heather being so busy and still sends so much information and such cute pictures. I appreciate it so much Heather. When we can't be there to see the boy's grow so much, pictures are the next best things. You inspire me to be a better blogger. Love to all.....Denny

Denny's Latest Adventure

Hi Family and Friends,

Have a funny adventure to tell you about that I took a couple of weeks ago. It was Chinese New Year and Jim and I were going to take the train into LA for the celebration. I went down Thursday before to make sure on the parking and all and was ready to take off on Sat. Jim bummed out on me and I was determined to go. So I took off, got caught behind a freight train getting to the station and missed the train. And when I got there all the parking facilities were locked up and I had to park in the worst park of town. I thought for sure my car was not going to be there when I got back. In order to catch the last train in I had to hire a cab to get to San Bernardino in 6 minutes. He screeched around corners and was going 90 miles an hour down the freeway. When I pulled up to the station the 2 porters were ready to shut the door. I jumped on and the doors closed. I thought to myself is this day going to be OK.
Union station is beautiful, just like in the old movies. Beautiful old leather chairs and big high windows and chandelier's. I thought you'd like to see it just for itself.

Double click the picture if you want to see it on a larger scale. So I make it into LA. Watched a Pueblo Dance that was quite interesting and then on to ChinaTown. OMG there were so many people shoving and pushing, it was just unbelievable. I first watched a children's parade in a corner alley way. When the dragon comes up to you, your supposed to put a red envelope that has money in it, in the mouth. Well hello tourist .
Image ImageNobody told me. It wasn't until they went to other people that I noticed the trick to it all. These little ones were between 3 & 5 so it was really cute to see.

Wasted my time until the parade started having acupuncture and reflexology on my feet and old knee. It was just like the movies too. They take you winding into these back rooms where you don't have a clue about what is going to happen. Here's my new friend Sheldon that runs the place. As you can tell he helps all the Chinese with their aliments concocting potions??????

Almost time for the parade and fighting the crowd. I did manage to find 1 place to take picture but got kicked out for fire hazard. So I got next to the grand stand and got a good picture of the Grand Marshall of the parade. It's the year of the Rat....so who do you think is the biggest rat in all of LA to Grand Marshall the Chinese New Year Parade? Schwanagger??NO NO NO

Just after this I realize that my train leaves in about 20 minutes and I have to run 7 blocks, buy a tickets and find my train. Panic stricken I start running, ask every booth "where can I get a ticket to Riverside and what track". Down to the end you buy your ticket and Riverside is track B. I knew I was not going to make it. And I had to grab something to eat. I could tell my sugar was getting really low with everything spinning. Hurry Hurry I pleaded. When I got to track B, I look down to the end up back up to track B and knew for sure I was not going to make it. So I hobbled (by this time my knee was killing me, so much for the acupuncture), up the stairs got on the train (with no ticket) and sat down. It was packed. People kept asking me, are you OK lady, my face was scarlet red, I was sweating like a horse and just upheavaled. They soon closed the doors and off we went. Me panicked. The counter came by once with his clicker and once to count. Never said anything but I worried the whole time home. It took 2 1/2 hours to get home. I looked out the window and there was my little car, I was so glad. I got in it and drove home and rang the door bell and when Jim opened the door, this is what happened........

ImageI'm so sad that my days of spontaneity and adventure are coming to an end. I learned that for sure on this trip. Hope you all had a Happy Chinese New Year......Denny
