Who am I?

ImageWhat happens when 2 computer geeks meet in Germany while computing for the U.S. Air Force? They move to Southern California, get married, and have fraternal twin boys! That was 20 years ago! When the boys were 4 years old, we moved to Northern Nevada. While the weather is not as mild here as San Diego, I enjoy the smaller town, the greater freedom, and the outdoor lifestyle.

What are the twins up to?

Now the boys are in high school. One son decided to take in the full high school experience and attend the local public high school full time. He applied and was accepted to their Signature Academy of Media Arts and Communications and has been focusing on Video Production. The other son decided to continue homeschooling through high school while attending the local high school part time for Graphics Design and Animation classes. They are both enjoying their chosen path and doing wonderful!

Why do I have a blog?

While homeschooling the boys, I found that it was much easier to share our homeschooling journey (including curriculum and methods) using a blog instead of duplicating stories on all of the other social media sites. So I started this blog with that intent.

My blog has taken on a new focus now – family activities the boys’ shenanigans, our family vacations/travels, my photography and acrylic painting hobbies, and anything else I feel like writing or sharing!

Throughout this blog, the boys are referred to by names derived from their younger selves’ favorite books:

  • Dragon Rider is the boy in the blue shirt
  • Alex Rider is the boy in the green shirt

Hi Cindy, I popped over here after seeing your response to Rebecca at the Blog Haven group. Love the pics of Yellowstone. We were there a month after you. What we did not know before we got there was that most of the park was closed for the winter 😦 But we did manage to see a lot of beautiful and amazing things. I’ve got one son who is a few years behind your boys. I think I’ll keep my eye on things here and learn from a mom that’s a few steps ahead.
