The migration process for additional bridges differs from the process for the first (main) bridge. Key points to note are: Whitelist entries from additional Bridges […]

Deprecation of HTTP support

New effects
We’ve upgraded our Light Effects API to support 4 new effects (Cosmos, Enchant, Sunbeam and Underwater) and provide enhanced control over effects. This is provided under the effects_v2 feature object, with the original effects object being deprecated.

We have been offering Digest Auth as an alternative to Basic Auth, but we see few applications using it. Digest Auth adds complexity and an additional […]
Replace api.meethue.com certificate by end of 2024
The current TLS/SSL certificate provided by api.meethue.com is derived from a root certificate by DigiCert that needs to be replaced. As it currently stands, we will switch to Google Trust Services as our certificate authority in 2025. We would like to ask you to make the necessary changes to support the change-over before the end of 2024 […]

You may have seen in our IFA announcements that for users with larger setups, we will be upgrading the Hue app to support the integration of multiple Bridges later this year. Users will be able to add multiple Bridges to a single home, view the status of all their rooms in a single view, and […]
