Think Before You Speak, by Alan Smith

One of my favorite quiz shows of all time is "Family Feud." One of the
joys of watching it is seeing what people will say when they don't have
very long to think. These are some actual answers from contestants who
have appeared on the quiz show "Family Feud":

 * Name something a blind person might use -- A sword

 * Name a song with "moon" in the title -- Blue suede moon

 * Name an item of clothing worn by the 3 musketeers -- A horse

 * Name something that floats in the bath -- Water

 * Name something you wear on the beach -- A deck chair

 * Name something red -- My cardigan

 * Name a famous cowboy -- Buck Rogers

 * Name a number you have to memorize -- 7

 * Name something you do before going to bed -- Sleep

 * Name something you put on walls -- Roofs

 * Name something in the garden that's green -- Shed

 * Name something that flies that doesn't have an engine -- A bicycle
   with wings

 * Name something you might be allergic to -- Skiing

 * Name a famous bridge -- The bridge over troubled waters

 * Name an animal you might see at the zoo -- A dog

 * Name a sign of the zodiac -- April

 * Name a non-living object with legs -- Plant

 * Name a domestic animal -- Leopard

 * Name a part of the body beginning with 'N' -- Knee

 * Name a way of cooking fish -- Cod

The answers sound ridiculous, but you know what the problem is: giving
an answer in the pressure of the moment and trying to be the first one
to blurt out an answer. Yes, we all know that sometimes, the mouth
begins to speak before the brain has had time to completely process the
question and the answer.

When you speak (or email) without taking time to think, the things that
come out of your mouth (or your computer) can be pretty funny. They can
also be quite damaging. That's why James warned us: So then, my beloved
brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
(James 1:19)

Just a reminder to pause for a moment before you speak (or email) to
someone today. You just might save yourself some embarrassment and
someone else a lot of hurt feelings.

Let’s go AC let’s go! Let’s go AC lets go!

It’s been a while since I’ve really cheered my heart out,

And it’s been the first time I’ve entrusted the results to God’s hands.

The first time when I’ve trusted God to give us the gold.

And what can I say?

He never fails. =D

Here’s the scores throughout the game:

7-0 to the Saints.

7-7 tie.

12-7 to the Saints

12-10 to the Saints

12-13 to ACS!

12-16 to ACS!

Oh man. Just look at it. I still haven’t fully believed what happened la. The Saints got an early advantage, scoring the first try of the game. ACS caught up relatively quickly, bringing the score to a tie. But the saints scored yet another soon enough. But we scored a penalty, and brought the score to 12-10. But we were still lagging behind!!

Half-time. The players switched sides. Neither team scored anything for quite a while. We were starting to get worried. Were we going to lose the title after so many years?! But I prayed every spare moment I had. Prayed for God to show what He was capable of. Of turning an impossible situation around. A desperate hope into reality. In the last 10 minutes, the miracles started happening.

Towards the end of the game, ACS was awarded a penalty shot. Somehow, we managed to pull it off, bringing the score to 13-12 to our advantage. We were back in the lead!! But it was still a narrow game. Even a penalty shot for the Saints would upset the score.

In the last 5 minutes of the game, the Saints were going all out to get just the few more points to get their victory they so desperately wanted. It looked as though they were going to too, with their players filled with renewed strength and determination, they rampaged through the field. But somehow, they made a foul, and AC was given yet another penalty! And, by God’s tender grace – we DID IT!!!! The score was brought to 16-12!!! A 4 point advantage!

At this point, there was not much time remaining, so although the Saints tried their hardest to fight back, it was too late. AC HAD WON!!!!!

Through this Rugby C Div finals, I learnt several valuable lessons.

1.) The power of sincere prayer

2.) Never underestimate God’s power. He can turn all situations, good OR bad, around.

Thank You God for this sweet victory.
