Alexandrium is a VR e-book reader designed to bring focus and calm into your reading experience. VR gives people an incredible ability to tune out distractions—so why aren’t there great e-book readers for it yet?
Alexandrium was built from scratch during a hackathon and is currently in an early alpha. It already loads PDF and EPUB files and displays them in a beautifully crafted 3D book with dynamic, interactive page-turning. You can flip pages with your hands or controllers, or explore a small built-in library of popular e-books and a comic if you don’t want to manage your own files. Cycle through different reading environments with a tap of the Y button. This is just the beginning.
Planned features include MR support, micro-gestures, Logitech Muse note-taking integration, and a more robust library system, with the goal of launching on the Horizon Store.
Alexandrium is built in Unity as a fresh new project within the last weeks.
