Inspiration

We were interested in helping shoppers shop more environmentally friendly

What it does

It uses Machine Learning to determine how Eco-Friendly items are

How we built it

Ecopact is a website created to help online shoppers understand the environmental impact of consumer products.

Challenges we ran into

Using a neural network we trained, we were able to input materials and receive a score based on the product. Deployment and combining Google Collab, and using Flask to communicate between React and Py script

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We learned how to use flask and how to implement machine learning better

What we learned

We learned how to delegate tasks to be as efficient as possible

What's next for Ecopact

We plan on improving the feature set, and adding alternatives to products that are more eco-friendly, also we want to build a bigger dataset to make the ML model more accurate.

I worked on the frontend, using react and css to make the home page. Additionally, I worked used Flask, using api calls for input fields and returned it onto the webpage.

Shreepaad Earanti
I figured out how to import Bard API and use it in Python to get information, and I wrote the code to turn the output into a dictionary.

Ethan Yao
I worked on the majority of the backend of the project. I created the models and the dataset and made it work with Bard to give an eco score. I also helped in integrating Python with the javascript on our final website and helped in styling the majority of the front-end such as the website.

Hursh Shah
I helped debug most of the errors we had with combining the AI from Google Collab to the project. I also helped with creating the search on the website. In addition, I created the logo.
