Inspiration
We were thinking about learning frontend tools since many days. So we decided to gift MLH a Hacky Birthday Gift in form of Web Application. And we all like the birthday gifts which are centric to us, right?
What it does
It is a webapp showing how MLH evolved and the faces behind it using colours that represent MLH.
How we built it
We built it using frontend tools like HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge that we ran into was that we did not have any prior experience of JavaScript, so animating the components and making it responsive. Also, we just had some basic knowledge of HTML/CSS.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Being our first hackathon, we were able to implement what we thought about(not fully though!). Also, when the animations did work how we thought it made us happy.
What we learned
Learned a lot about HTML elements and CSS properties. After trying tons of animations using JavaScript now we can proudly say that we can implement any of them.
What's next for Hacky Birthday!
We will try to make it more responsive and try to make it more interactive. Will also try to add more components as we follow along.
